Main purpose of the job

Subject field(s)
- Financial Accounting III; Financial Reporting IV; Accounting Software; Cost and Management Accounting II and III
Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience
- A relevant Master’s-level degree (i.e. M Tech / Masters / NQF 9 or equivalent) and Professional Accountant (SA) registration with SAIPA
OR
- Chartered Accountant (South Africa): CA(SA) registration with SAICA
- At least two years’ teaching/lecturing/industry experience relevant to the subject field(s)
Desired Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience
- At least two (2) years’ relevant industry experience in an accounting practice
- Evidence of a research output (publication / presentation at a national conference)
- Evidence of progress towards a Doctorate degree will be an advantage

To be appointed as Lecturer:
- A relevant Master’s-level degree (i.e. M Tech / Masters / NQF 9 or equivalent)
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) registered with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) (SA)
- At least two years’ teaching/lecturing/industry experience relevant to the subject field(s)
To be appointed as Senior Lecturer:
- A relevant Doctorate level degree (i.e. D Tech / PhD/ NQF 10 or equivalent)
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) registered with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) (SA)
- At least four years’ teaching / lecturing experience in the relevant subject field
- Evidence of research output, post-graduate supervision and presentations at national and international conference in line with CUT’s promotion requirements which requires:
- 1.5 credit outputs (books, chapters in books, articles in accredited journals, papers published in peer-reviewed conference proceedings, patents, etc.)
- Two completed master’s degrees as co-supervisor; or one completed master’s degree as supervisor. (Not applicable if the applicant already has a minimum of 2.0 publication, research or innovation credit outputs at Lecturer level)
- Four cumulative presentations/papers at conferences, of which at one should be an international presentation/paper (international conferences held in South Africa are also regarded as international conferences)
- Involvement in at least one community project (related to the teaching and learning and the research and innovation curriculum)
Desired Qualification, Knowledge And/Or Experience
To be appointed as Lecturer:

Main purpose of the job
- The main purpose of this job is to lead the institution's efforts to support and promote the strategic use of information and records in order to advance the overall mission and vision of the institution. To also ensure that CUT's records management system is compliant with legal requirements and regulations regarding the storage access and use of information.
Main tasks
1. Leadership and strategic direction
2. Governance and compliance oversight on records management and information security
3. Providing quality, efficient, and effective records management function to the University.
4. Capacity Building for staff members and Records Management Team
5. Maintain records classification and record keeping systems
6. Secure and safe records custody
7. Systematic disposal programme
8. Specific reinforcement for the electronic records management in support of the digital transformation
Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience
- NQF level 8/ Honour’s Degree Qualification in Information Management and/or Records Management or equivalent.
- 8 years management experience in the field of paper-based records-management and electronic records management and/ or Information Management, preferably in higher education or a large organization
- Understanding of South African Higher Education Policy framework and legislation e.g. Higher Education Act 101 of 1997
Desired Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience
- Masters Qualification (NQF 9) in Information Management and/or records management.
- 10 years’ experience in the field of paper-based records-management and electronic records management, preferably in a higher education institution;
- Project management experience
- Change management experience
- Understanding of South African Higher Education Policy framework and legislation e.g. Higher Education Act 101 of 1997
