This position will support a team locally based in South Africa and Global Teams. • The Candidate Technologist conducts elementary assignments in the civil engineering field usually as part of a project team.

Technical Excellence:

• Assist with preliminary and detailed designs including specifications and general alignment drawings reparation of mater plans and feasibility reports

• Prepare procurement documents and BOQ’s
• Liaise with professional team, client and contractors in dealing with matters arising

• Uses computer software as a tool for solving fundamental engineering problems.

Qualifications

Here is what we are looking for:

• BTech Degree (Civil Engineering)
• +3 Years' experience after obtainment of Undergrad within the build environment within a design capacity
• Registered as a Candidate Technologist with ECSA

• AECOM is seeking a Senior Hydraulics Engineer – High Energy Systems & Hydrodynamic Effects to be based in South Africa's Enterprise Capabilities office in Centurion . This position will support a team locally based in South Africa and Global Teams. As a part of AECOM's culture, it offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement which accommodates both office and out-of-office work schedules.
• The Senior Hydraulics Engineer has proven experience in high energy water systems, including spillways, energy dissipation structures, and hydrodynamic impacts on hydraulic infrastructure. This role will involve concept development, advanced numerical and physical modelling, and the design of complex hydraulic systems associated with dams and hydropower projects.

Technical excellence:

• Develop and review designs for high energy hydraulic structures (e.g. spillways, plunge pools, stilling basins)
• Perform advanced hydraulic modelling (2D/3D CFD and/or physical model review)
• Evaluate hydrodynamic loads and pressure effects on structures
• Assess cavitation, air entrainment, flow instabilities, and transient effects
• Collaborate with civil and geotechnical teams on integrated design solutions
• Contribute to technical reports, specifications, and design documentation

Qualifications

Here is what we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s degree preferred)
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in hydraulic design for dams, hydropower, or similar infrastructure
• Strong experience in hydraulic modelling tools (e.g. Flow3D, HEC-RAS, OpenFOAM, or similar)
• Understanding of physical modelling methods and scale effects
• Familiarity with high-energy hydraulic phenomena (e.g. water hammer, cavitation, air entrainment)
• Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE, Engineers Australia, or equivalent)
• Strong technical reporting and communication skills, with ability to clearly present complex results

• AECOM is seeking a Senior BIM Modeller - Highways to be based in South Africa's Enterprise Capabilities office in Cape Town . This position will support a team locally based in South Africa and Global Teams. As a part of AECOM's culture, it offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement which accommodates both office and out-of-office work schedules.
• The Senior BIM Modeller applies knowledge within an area to a project to solve straightforward problems and is also able to apply that knowledge to typical solutions
• An advanced user in Autodesk Civil 3D (Civils), or similar, who can draw/model with limited supervision having the ability to create content within a specific discipline. Must also be an advanced user in other core discipline specific software.
• Applies knowledge within an area to a project to solve straightforward problems and is also able to apply that knowledge to typical situations
• Works independently and collaboratively with moderate level of guidance
• Work is regularly reviewed by supervisors and more senior team members
• Contributes within an area of knowledge on a project, solving a range of straightforward problems, and applying that knowledge to atypical assignments
• Analyzes and applies solutions to typical issues within area of expertise within a sub-group or team within their function, business unit or technical discipline, using standard operating procedures/methodologies as a basis

Qualifications

Here is what we are looking for:

• 3 Years' + experience with modelling software in an highways/roads engineering design environment.
• Grade 12, 2 years ITI Diploma in Drafting or 3 years Diploma course in Engineering preferable.
• BIM certification would be advantageous
