    Unit Manager

    Summary

    • The Unit Manager will be responsible for coordinating Improved Quality Nursing Care by ensuring compliance to professional and ethical practice. The incumbent will be accountable for coordinating Training, Development and Mentoring of staff in the Unit. The incumbent will also be expected to apply and manage the best and most effective operational practice by focusing on the integration of people, technology and finance drivers in ensuring that Unit costs are maintained within budget

    Requirements

    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
    • A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing/ B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF 7 qualifications
    • Relevant qualification and experience within Maternity, NNICU and Paeds Units
    • Post basic qualifications in Management will be advantageous
    • Manage Acuities and Skill Mix in such a way as to ensure cost effective Quality Care
    • Manage all costs emanating from the Department
    • Ensure correct Billing, Stock Management and Ordering
    • Ensure patient confidentiality
    • Promote health and well-being of patients and staff
    • Facilitate timeous and accurate Compilation of Files
    • Ensure the unit is providing safe, cost-effective quality patient care in line with the
    • Clinical Governance strategy and evidence-based practice
    • Evaluate Nursing Quality Indicators and Clinical Outcomes
    • Evaluate the patient’s journey through patient experience and stakeholder input
    • Ensure the principles of Infection Prevention and all standard precautions are adhered to
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families and parents regarding the patient’s care

    Work Experience

    • +5 years working experience in private healthcare or healthcare industry will be advantageous
    • Experience in Management and Clinical Leadership

    • Computer Literacy essential

    • Sound financial knowledge and the ability to interpret financial data

    Registered Nurse - Scrub

    Summary

    • The Registered Nurse will render and promote cost effective, safe quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies. The objective of this position is to act as a clinical resource and leader in this speciality, performing functions at an advanced level of competence and consistence. Sound and contemporary knowledge of the area of speciality, together with an advanced understanding of professional nursing, health care delivery and programme planning, will allow the incumbent to fulfil his/her primary responsibilities and promoting quality patient care

    Requirements

    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/ Midwife
    • Relevant qualification within a specialist area will be advantageous

    Patient Services Manager

    Summary

    • The Patient Services Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Administration area. They will also be responsible for ensuring admissions and discharge of patients is done in a professional, friendly and timeous manner as well as creating and maintaining a goodwill with doctors and liaison with nursing staff regarding bed bookings

    Requirements

    • A tertiary qualification in Administration or Office Management or related
    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualifications
    • Intermediate computer skills
    • Knowledge of Medical Aids
    • Customer service orientated with high working standards
    • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills

    Work Experience

    • Ensure staff admit patients in a professional, orderly manner and appropriate information is recorded
    • Ensure DNYB report is maintained and at an acceptable level
    • Ensure correct procedures are followed by staff at all times
    • Ensure cases are updated appropriated and per agreements with medical aid
    • Ensure adequate turn-around times are maintained
    • Oversee the case management function
    • Assist with the implementation of a new billing system
    • Oversee and streamline billing and collections processes
    • Month-end closing of the billing group information, Billing planning and implementation
    • Plan and implement quality assurance for all processes
    • Personnel development and staff meetings

    Case Manager

    Summary

    • The Case Manager will be responsible for the liaison between the patient and medical aids to secure payment for the hospital

    Requirements

    • Grade 12/Matric
    • Diploma in Nursing or B Degree Nursing Qualification is essential
    • Work effectively and co-operatively with others to establish and maintain good working relationships that are mutually beneficial

    • Assist with the transfer of patients to Rehab Hospital or step-down facilities
    • Accompany Managed Care Organisation Case Managers on ward rounds in the hospital
