    Farm Assistant

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Applicants must be in possession of Grade 10. 6-12 months in the agriculture environment/ related field. Job related knowledge: Basic Knowledge of farm operations. Basic Knowledge of feeding. Basic knowledge of biosecurity.

    DUTIES:

    • Perform general activities in respect of crop production through Inter alia the following: Irrigation of crops. Soil cultivation and preparation e.g. cleaning, hoeing, etc. Apply chemical crop protection e.g. operate a knapsack. Reaping, grading, weighing, packing and storage of farm produce. 
    • Tending of crops / orchards / vineyards e.g. pruning, weeding etc. Perform general activities in respect of livestock through Inter alia the following: Care of sick livestock. Dipping, vaccination and dosing. Assist with calving, lambing, hatching etc. Count livestock. Shepherding, moving, weighing of livestock. Slaughtering and culling. Weighing, milling, mixing of feeds.     • Perform general activities in respect of infrastructure which would include inter alia the following: Maintain and build roads, fences, pipelines, canals, dams, drinking troughs, animal housing, equipment, and tools, building etc. Maintain windmills and water supply system.Adhere to occupational Health and Safety of the farm.

    Receptionist

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Matric certificate or NC(V) Level 4 certificate in Office Administration, N6 Certificate or Diploma/Degree in Office Administration.
    • At least two (2) years’ work experience/exposure as a switchboard operator or as a Receptionist. Excellent

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • A three-year National diploma in public administration/financial management/supply chain management or equivalent qualification with Basic knowledge in supply chain management.

    Admin Clerk: Curriculum Implementation

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Matric/Grade 12 Certificate. A relevant post Matric qualification in National Diploma in Management Assistant/ Office Administration L4. Knowledge of curriculum implementation and processes.
    • Good interpersonal and organizational skills. Good communication skills (written and verbal). Advanced computer literacy packages such as Microsoft Excel, Power-point, MS word, Internet etc. Ability to work under pressure in a team, independently and meet deadlines. Handling basic enquiries and assisting clients.

    DUTIES: 

    • Providing support to the ASD: Curriculum Implementation and part-time classes coordinators, assisting in daily office needs and managing general administrative activities for the projects. Administer the procurement of LTSM for all the delivery sites. Check compliance with SCM process and procedures. Capturing and extraction of assigned curriculum data. 
    • Capturing of part-time classes applications and attendance. Verification of captured part-time classes ICASS marks on the system. Make logistical arrangements for the meetings, taking minutes, seminars and workshops. Make necessary traveling arrangements for the ASD: Curriculum Implementation for attendance of the interprovincial meetings. Ensures that monthly, quarterly and annual project reports are submitted on time to DHET and other stakeholders. Handle routine enquiries. Distribute documents/ packages to various stakeholders as required.

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Senior Certificate or equivalent plus a National Diploma / Degree in Financial Accounting or equivalent qualification. A good understanding of the TVET College Bursary Scheme requirements and regulations of the National Students Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). Basic knowledge of financial functions, practices as well as the ability to capture data.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Senior Farm Specialist (Readvertisement)

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, animal science, or equivalent qualifications with at least 2-5 years’ experience in Operational Environment; preferably Agriculture. Additional courses in business management or administration are recommended. 
    • A valid drivers’ license and computer literacy are a prerequisite. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent Leadership and Management skills, Financial and Human Resources Management skills.
