    Hospital Benefit Specialist - Cape Town

    Key Purpose:

    The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following job functions:

    Assessing the case in relation to the following:

    • Members clinical history
    • Members benefit structure
    • Clinical Information and coding supplied
    • Level of care provided
    • Appropriateness of the facility
    • Appropriateness of the treating doctor
    • Appropriateness of treatment
    • Managing the benefit for the member and the risk for the relevant scheme through a thorough process to approve or decline Funding to ensure that the member gets the appropriate level of care
    • Discharge planning by providing the member with alternatives to receive treatment (This includes Hospital @ Home, Homecare etc.)

    Effective and accurate communication to all stakeholders:

    • Case update to the provider
    • Funding decisions and benefit confirmation to the members
    • Request for additional information from the treating doctor or practice manager
    • Engaging with Patient Services Manager and hospital staff
    • Handling escalations from Providers and internal stakeholders
    • Preparing and presenting complex case to clinical review
    • Trend Analysis of inefficiencies and proposals to correct
    • Appropriate internal case referrals for clinical management

    Operational Targets:

    • Attend to patients on daily report
    • Review all low acuity admission requests
    • Quality of processes

     Education and Experience:

    The following requirements are essential:

    • Matric
    • Must be a Registered Nurse
    • Valid SANC Registration
    • 3 years Clinical experience in a private hospital setting (ICU, Trauma/Casualty, Medical/General ward preferable)
    • 2 years Managed health care experience 
    • Microsoft Office (Specifically Excel experience)
    • Valid Driver’s License and own transport ( working hours are between 08:30 -17:00 & travel up to 50KM may be required)
    • Effective Communication Skills (Verbal & Written)
    • Telephone Etiquette
    • Active Listening Skills

    The following requirements are advantageous:

    • 1 – 2 years ICU experience
    • Knowledge of DH SOP’s and Process experience (internal only)
    • Provider payment arrangements (internal Only)
    • Clinical coding knowledge of ICD-10 and/or CCSA

    Business Intelligence Analyst Developer

    Role Overview

    • An Intermediate BI Analyst Developer bridges the gap between business needs and data-driven solutions. They are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions that enable data analysis, reporting, and decision-making across the organization.

    Key Purpose

    Data Analysis & Interpretation

    • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
    • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand KPIs and reporting needs.

    BI Solution Development

    • Design and develop the final asset (report, cube, both dynamic or static dashboard) using Microsoft reporting tools or any of the standard reporting tools.
    • Perform unit testing.
    • SQL scripting using platforms like Microsoft SQL, Oracle.

    Data Management

    • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across BI platforms.
    • Follow data governance and security best practices.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units.
    • Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and reports.
    • Gather feedback and continuously improve BI solutions based on user input.

    Performance Optimization

    • Optimize queries and reports for speed and efficiency.
    • Maintain documentation for BI solutions and processes.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Stay updated with BI trends, tools, and technologies.
    • Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
    • Contribute to the development of BI standards and best practices.

    Required Skills

    • Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools.
    • Knowledge of basic data warehousing concepts e.g. star schemas. 
    • Exceptional analytical, conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to understand Entity-Relationship diagrams.
    • Strong SQL query writing ability (across database environments e.g., Oracle, SQL Server etc).
    • Strong report design skills, preferably with Microsoft SSRS and Power BI.

    Personal Attributes and Skills

    • Good team player.
    • Self-motivated.
    • Good communication skills, both oral and written and stakeholder management abilities.
    • Ability to mentor others.

    Education and Experience

    • Degree in Computer Science or IT.
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Developer or a related field.

    DC- Insure Telesales Consultant (Cape Town)

    Job Purpose

    • This position is based in the Discovery Connect Sales call centre, and reports to the sales team leader. The successful individual will be required to conduct Discovery Insure telesales.

    Key Outputs

    The successful individual will be required to perform on, but not limited to the following key outputs:

    • Be able to achieve Insure sales monthly targets
    • To communicate with members telephonically and via email on any queries
    • Attending to daily administration of keeping stats updated
    • Conducting Financial Needs Analysis on clients to provide sound advice
    • Overcome client objections and improve customer service experience
    • Adhering to service level agreements to ensure sales consistency in the department.
    • Adhering to all compliance requirements within the role

    • Tertiary qualification (Wealth Management)
    • Minimum 2 years short -term product Knowledge
