    Ward Clerk - City Hospital Temporary Position

    PURPOSE OF THE POSTION

    • To inspect and ensure all charges are correct on the patient's file.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREA

    • Accurate auditing and billing of patient documentation in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
    • Effective management of ward stock, equipment, and inventory control processes.
    • Compilation and submission of accurate ward statistics.
    • Providing efficient administrative and clerical support to ward personnel.

    Infection Prevention and Control Co-ordinator Durdoc Hospital

    • The incumbent will be responsible for performing and reporting on surveillance for healthcare-associated infection. Investigating and advising on outbreak management. Providing a clinical advisory service for infection prevention-related issues.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • To implement a common set of standards for Infection Control and Quality practices at the Joint Medical Holdings - Hospital for Good Clinical Governance
    • To constantly evaluate evidence from current practices and to implement the necessary changes.
    • To minimize all clinical and infection Control risks to our patients, staff, other health care workers and community, thereby providing quality cost effective service.
    • To give clear direction about the segregation, handling, transportation, storage, and disposal of Health Care Risk Waste (HCRW) and manage all processes.
    • To guide and educate hospital staff in the appropriate measures to reduce infection, monitoring the processes of cleaning, disinfection and sterilization and monitoring CSSD process and biological testing.
    • To provide comprehensive monitoring of support services e.g. cleaning services with routine cleaning programs ensuring well trained staff and regularly monitored standards.
    • Monitoring and Surveillance of HBA within the environment and from the patient and staff population with appropriate reporting to authorities.
    • Monitoring and surveilling staff health at entry, periodicals and on exit and monitoring staff immunization.
    • Monitoring Best Care Bundle practices for the prevention of HAI's and clinical risks as per JMH protocols.
    • Monitoring Hang time compliance of Antibiotics with adequate supervision and support to the clinical departments. Attending AMS and AFS meetings at hospital, group level as well as at Stewardship forums.
    • Gathering and analyzing infection data, facts and trends that is evidence based and reporting endemics.
    • Provide training and education to medical, nursing, and non-nursing personnel and to run workshops.
    • Notification of communicable diseases to NDOH-CDC as legislated.
    • Setting up an infection control committee with regular feedback to management on infection and quality KPI's.

    COMPETENCIES (The following will be advantageous)

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    (Educational Qualifications & Experience)

    • Matric.
    • Must be registered with SANC as a Registered Nurse with valid APC and at least 5-7 years' experience in the clinical setting.
    • Must have a valid 6 months to 1 year Infection control certificate from an accredited NEI.
    • Must have at least 3-5 years' experience working exclusively in IPC and Quality management

    SKILLS

    (Practical & Technical)

    • Strong knowledge of infection control principles, healthcare-associated infections, isolation precautions, hand hygiene, and outbreak management.
    • Ability to conduct infection surveillance, analyse infection trends, perform audits, monitor compliance, and prepare reports using data and quality indicators.
    • Experience developing and implementing IPC policies, ensuring compliance with South African healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and occupational health requirements.
    • Skilled in educating healthcare workers, conducting staff training, assessing competencies, and promoting infection prevention best practices across the facility.
    • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead quality improvement initiatives and influence positive practice changes.

    Fixed Asset Controller

    PURPOSE OF POSITION

    • A Fixed Asset Controller is required to support the Finance Department in the effective management and maintenance of the fixed asset registers across the group.
    • The key outputs of the position are the accurate recording of movements on the fixed assets register, the calculation of the monthly depreciation and wear and tear, calculation of profit/loss and recoupment/scrapping values.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    Asset Register Management

    • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register for each facility.
    • Process asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.

    Reporting & Reconciliations

    • Conduct monthly asset reconciliations and reporting.
    • Submission of monthly fixed asset reports within reporting deadlines.
    • Timely resolution of reconciliation discrepancies and asset queries.

    Physical Asset Control

    • Perform physical verification in accordance with company's internal controls.
    • Tagging and recording of all assets.

    Compliance & Financial Reporting

    • Assist with annual external audits and preparation of supporting schedules.
    • Complete impairment assessments and useful life reviews.
    • Support group consolidation and financial reporting processes
    • Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal company policies.

    Systems & Process Improvement

    • Participation and support in ERP/IT transformation projects.
    • Implementation of process improvements to strengthen asset controls.
    • Reduction in manual processing errors and reconciliation issues.
    • Effective coordination with finance, procurement, and operational departments.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • 3–5 years' experience in fixed asset accounting or financial accounting.
    • Strong knowledge of fixed asset management and accounting principles.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
    • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
    • Experience in a group will be advantageous.
    • Experience in SAGE 300 Fixed Asset Module will be advantageous.

    Group Price File &Hospital Stock Controller -JMH Group

    PURPOSE OF POSITION

    • To monitor inventory levels across pharmacies, wards and operating theatres to prevent stock outs and over supply. Manage high value items i.e. consignment stock and prosthesis items.
    • Co-ordinate regular stock takes &, mitigate the risk of damaged, expired and obsolete stock.
    • To ensure quality patient billings with feedback to sites to ensure that pharmaceutical procurement is aligned to funder re-imbursement models i.e. valid nappi codes in procurement.
    • Pricing comparisons: to identify cost savings and trial cost effective products and align this to formulary compliance. Ensure sites comply with JMH Formularies.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    Price File management

    • Examine the surgical and ethical billing in accordance with single exit price and net acquisition price and identify discrepancies and ensure that internal control measures are in place to facilitate correct pricing.
    • Review the centralized master and update the codes, ensure that the consolidated stock valuation is accurate.
    • Maintain the Vendor Master with review from the group pharmacy manager.
    • Ensure that the formulary is effective at all sites.
    • Prepare pricing comparisons for the group pharmacy manager and prepare reports for supplier negotiations.
    • Create dashboards -for the management of non-recoverable -consumables and apply surveillance on clinical practice.

    Stock

    • The group hospital stock controller will coordinate the quarterly stock take, cyclical counts and identify high value stock and mitigate the risk of damaged, redundant and expired stock.
    • The group hospital stock controller will coordinate cyclical counts and develop policies for internal control and accountability at the site level.
    • Examine consignment stock and prosthesis billings per site.
    • Documentation: group stock documentation will be reviewed, and newer templates designed and implemented per site.
    • The incumbent will supervise operating theatre workflows i.e. capturing of theatre charge sheets, billing of consignment stock and prosthesis.

    Patient Billings

    • Identify cost drivers with room for conversions.
    • Analyze patient billings per site and identify materials with incorrect nappi codes and indiscriminate use per procedure.
    • Provide a summary of surgical and ethical write-offs per site.
    • Attend Risk sharing meetings.
    • Advise of to take out Benefits per site.
    • Research prepacks and supply cost effective proposals aligned to fixed fee /procedure input.
    • Billings: documentation and charge sheets will be reviewed and evaluated to promote efficiencies within the organization.
    • Review billings rejections.

    Training and Development.

    • Co-ordinate teams meetings.
    • Prepare training manuals for sites.
    • Project management on Strategic – Pharmacy projects.
    • Develop -Hospital Stock controllers in the JMH Group.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Matric
    • A stock control diploma or Post Basic Pharmacy Qualification.
    • A finance qualification e.g. Bachelor of Commerce -will be an added advantage.
    • Delta 9 experience.
    • 10 years Private Hospital Experience.
    • SAP, ERP systems is an added advantage.
    • Ability to travel between sites.

    Senior Technician (Mechanical )

    PURPOSE OF POSITION

    • To ensure the efficient operation, maintenance and repair of all technical systems and equipment within the hospital, supporting safe, compliant, and uninterrupted healthcare services.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Serve as the senior technician within the Technical Services Department, providing day-to-day supervision and technical guidance to artisans, handymen and technical assistants.
    • Coordinate, prioritise, and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities to ensure the continuous operation of hospital infrastructure and critical services.
    • Perform hands-on maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on mechanical systems including pumps, pressure vessels, heat pumps, water reticulation systems, plumbing infrastructure, medical gas systems, generators, and fire protection systems.
    • Conduct routine inspections of plant rooms, utility systems, and critical equipment to ensure reliability, compliance, and operational readiness.
    • Monitor contractor performance and ensure all work complies with DOH and hospital standards, safety requirements, and statutory regulations.
    • Support compliance activities, including statutory inspections, certifications, fire safety requirements, and engineering audits.
    • Act as a point of technical escalation for equipment failures, maintenance challenges, and operational risks affecting hospital services.
    • Assist the Technical Manager with maintenance planning, project implementation, asset management, and budget control.
    • Participate in emergency response activities, standby duties, and business continuity initiatives.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • University National Diploma NQF 6 or N6 Diploma + Trade Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
    • Relevant experience in a maintenance hospital or industry environment.
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and diagnostics.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

    Clinical Technologist

    PURPOSE OF POSITION

    • To perform, analyse, and assist with cardiovascular diagnostic procedures and monitoring, ensuring accurate clinical information is available to medical practitioners for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of cardiac patients while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Registration with HPCSA as a Clinical Technologist – Cardiology.
    • Minimum of 2 years appropriate experience in the Cardiology profession after registration with HPCSA.
    • In addition, a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Clinical Technologist.
