    Shift Supervisor

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is searching for a Shift Supervisor to join their Grocery Division. The role will report into the Unit Manager and will bebased at Molento.
    • The incumbent will be responsible for managing people, products, raw material and quality, ensuring the production and packing of products in line with the production plan and according to RCL FOODS safety and quality standards.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Minimum of NQF Level 5 Tertiary qualification (Higher Certificate).
    • Operations/Business Management Qualification will be advantageous.
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a FMCG food production environment.
    • Experience in the management of a unionised workforce.
    • Working knowledge on MS Office.
    • Demonstrative leadership skills and competencies.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Production Management:

    • Agrees and implements the production plan with the Unit Manager and planning and can make production decisions within the production plan (e.g. if a production line breaks down, prioritizes production requirements and re-allocates labor accordingly).
    • Analyses shift results and implements any necessary changes to increase production.
    • Ensures that quality standards are implemented and adhered to.
    • Diagnoses plant problems (fault finding) and liaises with Engineering Foreman for plant repairs.
    • Conduct daily production meetings with the team to analyze previous shift results and implement any necessary changes to meet demand.
    • Responsible for ensuring sufficient staff and adequate raw materials.
    • Interprets fault finding to optimize production.
    • Monitors operational efficiencies and recommends and implements corrective action to improve operational efficiencies.
    • Identifies causes and costs of waste, contamination and inefficiencies and reports to the Unit Manager.
    • Monitors and ensures adherence to Company standards and SOP’s.
    • Ensures that Plant is maintained in a high level of engineering, cleaning and Safety standards.
    • Assist in capacity planning exercises to optimize plant performance.
    • Assist in drawing up preventative maintenance schedules for the plant.
    • Ensure that shift repairs and maintenance are carried out by the artisans and operators to reduce the impact of downtime.
    • Ensures that quality standards are implemented and adhered to.
    • Monitor and reduce waste such as product, packaging, steam, air, water and electricity.
    • Identifies reasons for staff non-conformance (e.g. training required, managing poor performance, refusal to obey lawful instruction, absenteeism) and takes appropriate action.
    • Monitors process and changes and ensures that corrective action has been taken in the event of a non-conformance.
    • Preparation of daily/weekly/monthly reports.
    • Attend daily/weekly/monthly meetings with specific reference to health and safety, production and yields.

    Safety, Health, Risk, Environment & Quality:

    • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements – OHS, HACCP, FSSC 2000.
    • Maintain the food safety and safety systems in the plant.
    • Implementation of policies and procedures to manage and maintain RCL FOODS facilities and assets.
    • Quality and safety assurance during and after completion of food production.
    • Prepares for all internal and external audits.
    • Ensures adequate level of compliance with the said policies, procedures and standards to meet all certification requirements at any given time.

    Cost Management:

    • Drives a cost-conscious culture.
    • Identifies sources of waste and takes action to minimize waste.
    • Stock control and quality of raws and finished product.
    • Manage and improve productivity and yields.

    People Development/Recruitment:

    • Assist in the selection of new personnel to fill vacancies or replacements.
    • Recommend change to procedures and develops performance standards.
    • Work according to HR policies and procedures; adhere to quality and safety standards.
    • Make joint recruitment decision with the Unit Manager.
    • Develops and maintains shift roster, schedules and execute annual leave, Monitors and controls employee attendance and manages employees’ overtime.

    Industrial Relations:

    • Initiates disciplinary action/enquiries.
    • Resolving conflicts within immediate team and facilitates conflict resolution within subordinate teams.

    Projects:

    • Co-ordinates the implementation of “Best-in-class” principles in the factory.

    Data Analyst (Digital Sales)

    • We are on the hunt for a Data Analyst (Digital Sales) with a strong focus on data analytics to join our Growth Division. The role will be based in Durban and report to the Digital Sales Support Specialist. The purpose of this role is to drive growth of the RCL portfolio at outlet level by leveraging data analytics and insights. This includes using Power BI and other analytical tools to identify opportunities, optimize customer contact strategies, and improve SKU penetration. The role combines outbound sales efforts with data-driven decision-making to support national and regional account compliance and operational focus areas.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric.
    • Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Sales, Business Analytics, or related field (preferable).
    • 2-4 years of experience in sales or data analytics (food service experience preferred).
    • Power BI proficiency is essential.
    • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
    • Experience with CRM tools is advantageous.
    • Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate data into actionable insights.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Strategy & Analytics

    • Develop territory strategies using data insights
    • Analyze sales trends, outlet performance, and customer behavior using Power BI dashboards.
    • Identify gaps and opportunities in product and customer engagement.

    Customer Relationship Management

    • Use data to segment outlets and prioritize outreach based on performance and potential.
    • Deliver on contact matrix targets using insights to optimize call frequency and content.
    • Build a reputation as a data-driven customer support expert, providing tailored recommendations and reporting to the relevant teams

    Marketing & New Product Development

    • Support new product introductions with data-backed targeting and performance tracking. Using the data provided by Channel, Customer marketing to create Innovation reports 
    • Use analytics to identify outlets with potential for new SKUs and innovation adoption.

    Promotions & Campaigns

    • Activate promotional activities at outlet level, tracking effectiveness via Power BI.
    • Assist in managing POS and sample stock allocation using data to guide decisions.
    • Support trade shows and events with insights on customer preferences and trends.

    Market & Customer Insights

    • Conduct regular surveys and audits to gather outlet-level intelligence.
    • Feed insights into national and regional planning to improve product relevance.

    Pricing & Competitor Analysis

    • Monitor RCL and competitor pricing across outlets using data tools.
    • Provide pricing insights to support margin and cost-in-use discussions.

    Financial Acumen

    • Apply data to support discussions on budgets, margin optimization, and profitability.

    Cross-functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with Operations, Channel, Customer, and Marketing teams to ensure data-driven growth strategies are implemented effectively.

    Master Data Administrator FTC

    • The role will be based in Westville and report to the Master Data Consultant.The successful candidate will be entrusted by RCL FOODS to support master data operations and ensure the accuracy of data processing and financial records.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • B.com ( Financial Accounting ) or other relevant tertiary qualification 
    • Minimum 2 years experience working in a SAP master data environment or similar intergrated system environment
    • Experience of business processes and disciplines with a combination of at least 2 to 3 years dividion and/or functions such asf financial or management accounting , inventory and materials management, accounts payable, account receivable , data analysis and reporting.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Cleanse and validate requests for new master data records by ensuring accuracy and completeness through direct communication with business stakeholders.
    • Update master data attributes accurately and promptly, following authorization from designated approvers. Participate in projects involving new system implementations or enhancements.
    • Provide support to the Master Data team by managing new and amended data attributes and ensuring effective communication with users.
    • Propose and implement continuous improvements in master data maintenance and housekeeping practices.
    • Maintain master data across external repositories beyond the ERP system to ensure all business stakeholders have access to accurate and uptodate information.
    • Assist in resolving queries and issues related to master data onboarding and amendments.

    Master Data Specialist -Fixed Term Contract

    • RCL FOODS is seeking for a strong analytical and perceptive Master Data Specialist with a high curiosity quotient to join the Group Services Division on a Fixed Term Contract.
    •  The role will be based at Westville.

    The purpose of the role is to:

    • To support the Master Data Consultant & team on the day-to-day creation and changes of new records & maintenance of master data attributes.
    • To provide support and follow up with business partners in the resolution of queries relating to Master Data requests received that doesn’t comply with Group Policy & Procedure
    • To ensure all data is maintained accurately and within the Group Master Data Standards defined in the Group Master Data Policies. 
    • To perform periodic data quality, consistency, and alignment checks in respect of records on the relevant ERP data bases. To engage proactively with business partners for resolution.
    • Highlight and communicate compliance issues to consultant/manager or relevant BU manager relating to adherence to the Master Data Group policies.
    • Cleanse and test the accuracy and completeness of requests for new requests and prepare master data templates for creation and future use.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • B.Com (Financial Accounting or Informatics) or other relevant tertiary qualification.
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a SAP master data environment or a similar integrated systems environment.
    • Experience of business processes and disciplines.
    • Order to Cash process knowledge would be an advantage.

    Knowledge:

    • SAP or similar operating systems (including multiple ERP and related systems).
    • Workflow processes and procedures.
    • Group business processes & policies.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    Master Data Administration & Maintenance.

    •  Extracting activity logs for reporting and analysis on master data performance
    • Cleanse and test the accuracy and completeness of requests for new master data for mass uploading or manual capturing. Compliance with master data rules & processes and ensure relevant authorisations for all requests as per approval matrix.
    • Update master data records accurately as per authorisation by the Master Data Manager or Consultant.
    • Participate in project work in respect of new systems implementation and/or system enhancements.
    • Provide support to the Mater Data Team relating to new and amended master data attributes, including the associated communication to users.
    • Continually propose and implement ways to improve master data maintenance and housekeeping.
    • Participate in the maintenance of master data information on depository information mediums outside the official ERP system(s) to ensure that all stakeholders in the Business have access to accurate and up to date master data information at all times.
    • Participate in the resolution of queries and issues relating to new master data take-on and amendments.
    • Maintain relationships with all stakeholders that utilise master data within the broader information management systems.
    • Continually enhance and implement methods of independent health check verifications/validations this relates to master data take-on, amendments and existing records.
    • Direct support and assistance in formatting and validating data for duplications or redundancy.
    • Monthly /weekly Audit reports to be run, to ensure all changes have valid and authorised supporting documents. Continually enhance and implement methods of technical administration and development of reports for validating data for consistency Master Data procedures to be maintained and updated for the control of master data activities in ERP systems.
