    Miner - Non Permanent Employment

    Purpose of Job

    • To achieve defined performance targets in section through building of operator capabilities and planning, organizing and controlling the day-to-day Mining activities.

    Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

    • Manage crew to meet production targets Manage safety, health and environmental issues in section
    • Ensure competence of crew Demonstrate continuous drive to improve Act as Relieving Shift Boss at times
    • Manage more complex mining activities Identify training and development needs of crew
    • Ensure adequate materials availability in section SAP inputs when acting as Shift Boss
    • Represent Shift Boss in OE meetings and transfer knowledge of OE reports to other Miners and Artisans
    • Ensure to take reasonable measures to ensure the health and safety of employees responsible for inspection
    • Oversee safe transport of team to and from the section Conduct start and end of shift inspections
    • Conduct statutory inspections e.g. gas & ventilation tests Complete statutory reports Perform risk assessments
    • Perform task observations Conduct at least rescue drill with team per month to rescue room and after all section moves
    • Oversee housekeeping of section Ensure team uses PPE and hand tools correctly

    Artisan/ Senior Artisan : Electro Mechanic (Non Permanent Employment)

    Purpose of Job

    • To support production by providing effective electro-mechanical equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes, and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of the plant, mine and/or equipment.

    Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

    • Proven competence in pre-identified areas per discipline of the plant/mine/equipment/systems

    Engineering Clerk - Maintenance Support

    Purpose of Job

    • STO Maintenance is looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Engineering Clerk to provide comprehensive administrative and coordination support to four Maintenance Area Managers and their respective Maintenance Foremen. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of maintenance operations, proper documentation control, and compliance with internal processes such as MOC and MOCA. The position also supports the preparation and coordination of RBI, Holistic, and 3rd-party audits.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Provide daily administrative and logistical support to Maintenance Area Managers and Maintenance Foremen.
    • Coordinate meetings: scheduling, agenda preparation, minute-taking, and tracking of action items.
    • Manage stationery and PPE requests, issuance, inventory tracking, and record keeping for all maintenance personnel.
    • Administer MOCA tasks and support the MOC (Management of Change) process, including documentation control and workflow monitoring.
    • Manage, update, and safeguard all Maintenance Folders in both digital and physical formats.
    • Administer and track maintenance overtime forms, ensuring correct approvals and compliance.
    • Support the preparation and documentation required for RBI (Risk-Based Inspection) reviews, Holistic Assessments, and 3rd-party audits.
    • Prepare reports, presentations, registers, and other maintenance-related documentation.
    • Ensure all documentation meets audit, compliance, and record-keeping standards.
    • Liaise with internal departments, contractors, service providers, and inspection teams where required.

    Formal Education

    • Grade 12 / Matric (administration, technical, or business qualification advantageous).
    • 3–5 years’ administrative experience in maintenance, engineering, petrochemical, or industrial environments.
    • Working knowledge of MOC processes (advantageous).
    • Experience supporting audits (RBI/Holistic/3rd-party) preferred.
    • Strong computer literacy (MS Office Suite; SAP or similar maintenance/ERP systems advantageous).
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking ability.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record keeping.

    Lead Controller Logistics

    Purpose of Job

    • Ensure that all Fuel deliveries to customers throughout the inland Energy CDF primary and secondary customer network are: Executed safely; On time and In full; Complete and accurate documentation; Comply with quality requirements. Execute the Energy CDF Outbound Logistics Fuel Distribution function’s strategy, objectives and goals. Ensure that existing policies, procedures and processes are followed in order to meet customer needs and expectations and also ensure alignment with ISO 14001 / OHSAS 19001 / Responsible Care legal and environmental requirements. Direct logistics activities. Manage and assist in the planning and execution with regards to operational challenges such as product shortages, strikes, system failures, price increases. Ensure compliance with various legislation and governance with respect to policies and procedures.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Day-to-day management of subordinates, including HR activities and KPI monitoring.
    • Manage the on time and accurate execution of all Fuel Deliveries.
    • Conduct periodic SLA's with all 3rd party transporters.
    • Ensure reliable deliveries with own fleet and contractor fleet.
    • Monitoring and management of loading slot adherence where applicable.
    • Ensure effective and pro-active communication between 3rd party transporters and LC4 (Logistics CommandCentre).
    • Facilitate product loss investigations between Sasol and 3rd party transporters.
    • Manage capacity allocation and commitment by own fleet and 3rd party transporters to be in-line with LC4(Logistics Command Centre) demand.
    • Manage incidents with next steps with 3rd party transporter.
    • Conduct task observations and spot audits on 3rd party transporters, including daily monitoring on deliveryexecution and adherence to plan and ensuring all loaded documents have been submitted timeously.
    • Manage operating cost / budget / cost-to-serve.
    • Identify and implement innovative ideas to reduce cost-to-serve: reduction in unnecessary own fleet and externalcontractor spend.
    • Ensure own fleet and 3rd party transporter compliance with adherence to plan.
    • Effective SHERQ management. Identify potential operational risks including OSHACT requirement and ensure risks are mitigated byimplementing preventative controls.
    • Ensure all incidents are reported, logged, investigated and corrective and preventative actions implemented. Identify and implement actions to reduce the number of: a) spillages and b) contaminations c) all other types ofincidents e.g. MVA's, injuries.
    • Ensure compliance with SHE audits incl. SQAS. Identify and implement plans for continuous improvement on SHE results.
    • Ensure proper administration in that customers documentation are submitted promptly and accurately and toensure that deviations are investigated and resolved. Submit all documentation on time and ensure all outstanding documents are submitted once issues are resolved. Investigate all out of tolerance (gains / losses) according to agreed process.
    • Ensure proper Governance and Compliance with all legislation, policies and procedures.
    • Continuously improve on and implement controls to combat economic crime e.g. theft.
    • Adhere to policies and procedures for Audit purposes.
    • Manage operational challenges.
    • Assist with and execute contingency plans with respect to labour actions (strikes).
    • Assist with and implementing plans in case of product shortages to ensure deliveries are done.
