    Senior Pricing Actuarial Analyst

    Job Description

    • Lead Technical, Retail, and Expense Modelling,develop, maintain, and implement market-leading pricing models to ensure competitive and profitable offerings.
    • Drive Innovation in Products and Models,support the design and development of new and innovative products, pricing strategies, and modelling techniques.
    • Establish Monitoring Framework,assist in setting up robust monitoring frameworks to track performance, profitability, and compliance with pricing objectives.
    • Policy Administration System (PAS),take ownership of PAS pricing requirements, ensuring accurate and timely implementation aligned with business needs.
    • Support Management in Achieving Objectives,collaborate with leadership to ensure profitability targets and strategic objectives are consistently met

    Qualifications

    Type of Qualification: 

    • 3 year BSc, 4 year B BusSc or BCom with actuarial majors
    • Honours is an advantage
    • Member of Actuarial Society of South Africa /Member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. 
    • At least 6 exemptions / actuarial exam passes 

    Experience Required

    • 4-7 years of short-term pricing experience.
    • Experience with data is preferred.
    • Experience in short term insurance pricing.
    • Experience in system (PAS, rating engine or claims) implementation.

    Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of short-term insurance pricing techniques.
    • Understanding of short-term insurance products and business principles. 
    • Understanding of balance sheet and Income statement.
    • Knowledge of actuarial processes and control cycle 
    • Knowledge of the product development process.
    • Understanding of how the FSCA operates.
    • Understanding of the economic environment’s impact on short term insurance industry.
    • Knowledge of South African insurance regulation.
    • Knowledge of system implementation.

    Specialist, Derivatives Clearing

    Job Description

    • We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Specialist, Derivatives Clearing to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa.
    • In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimising our derivatives clearing processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and mitigating risks associated with derivative transactions.
    • Execute and monitor daily clearing and settlement processes for various derivative products
    • Analyse and resolve clearing-related issues, ensuring timely and accurate settlement
    • Perform risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies for derivative positions
    • Liaise with clearing houses, counterparties, and internal stakeholders to manage clearing relationships
    • Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements (e.g., EMIR, Dodd-Frank)
    • Develop and maintain documentation for clearing processes and procedures
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of clearing systems and workflows
    • Prepare and analyse reports on clearing activities, risk exposures, and performance metrics

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in derivatives clearing or a similar role within financial services
    • In-depth knowledge of derivatives markets, clearing processes, and settlement procedures
    • Strong understanding of risk management principles and practices in derivatives trading
    • Proficiency in using clearing house platforms and advanced Excel skills
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
    • Experience with various types of derivative products (e.g., futures, options, swaps)
    • Thorough understanding of financial regulations related to derivatives clearing

    Branch Manager

    Job Description

    • To manage and develop all branch resources including people, processes and systems to deliver a sustainable and profitable branch/point of representation (PORs) income statement and balance sheet, while embedding a strong, disciplined and client-focused culture aligned to the local catchment strategy. Specific responsibilities include:

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and optimise branch performance by managing revenue, costs, balance sheet growth and client profitability within defined pricing, risk and governance parameters.
    • Build, lead and develop a high-performing team through effective workforce planning, coaching, performance management, capability building and employee engagement across the full employee lifecycle.
    • Drive a distinctive client experience by implementing client strategies, enabling cross-selling, migrating clients to appropriate channels and ensuring consistent delivery of what matters most to clients.
    • Ensure robust risk, compliance and operational control by identifying, monitoring and mitigating operational, regulatory and conduct risks, and maintaining full adherence to legislative, audit and internal control requirements.
    • Embed operational excellence and change adoption by improving processes, resolving system issues, enabling accurate management information and acting as the interface between branch teams and change initiatives.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree (FAIS aligned NQF7 qualification or higher) in Commerce, Finance, Business Management, Economics or a related commercial discipline.
    • Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Representative status is required
    • Regulatory Examinations Level 1 and Level 5 are preferred if not already held.

    Experience Required

    • A minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience within a retail or personal banking environment, including proven experience in branch or sales and service leadership.
    • Demonstrated experience in managing a branch income statement and balance sheet, driving sales performance, client growth and operational delivery.
    • Experience leading teams of managers and frontline staff, with accountability for performance, conduct, development and engagement.
