    Ambassador (PPPrev) Flagstaff - OR Tambo

    Purpose of the position: 

    • The ambassador will conduct mobilization and pre-vulnerability screening to identify the vulnerable AGYW and record on the case management register. Provide case management to all AGYW initiated on PrEP to promote continuation in care. 

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12/TVET college level 2 or Grade 10 with 1 year experience in HIV programmes
    • Be between the ages of 18-35 years
    • Ability to communicate in English, IsiXhosa and other South African languages 
    • Driver’s license would be advantageous
    • HIV Counselling with be advantageous

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Create community awareness on issues affecting the lives of AGYW within their communities
    • Mobilize support for PREP and PP_PREV programmes 
    • Provide and educate AGYW and their peers with information on HIV and AIDS, human rights, gender inequality and gender-based violence as well as Prep
    • Conduct pre-screening to identify vulnerable AGYW and hand hold to structural programs
    • Implement effective case management strategies in accordance with the Case Management Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Provide face-to-face youth care clubs in accordance with the identified needs of the AGYW.
    • Ensure that referrals to outside agencies are 
    • Support the team in assessing the needs of youth in relation to HIV prevention, linkage to care and adherence to treatment.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary team and case review meetings
    • Recruit AGYW to youth care clubs
    • Submit monthly reports to the clinical trainer.

    Social Worker_PPPREV, Zululand (Maternity Leave Contract) - Zululand

    Purpose of the position:

    To provide professional social work services within the context of an HIV Priority Populations Prevention programme focusing on adolescent girls and young women. The social worker will also coordinate and facilitate training in structural programmes addressing HIV prevention and gender based violence, as well as engage with relevant stakeholders with government departments, with partners and in the social work field. 

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work 
    • Accredited relevant post-graduate qualification will be an advantage 
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the social work and the HIV field 
    • Registered Social Worker with the SA Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP) 
    • Experienced facilitator 
    • Computer literate in MS office  
    • Proficiency in English and isiZulu
    • Valid code 8 driver’s licence 

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Receive referrals from internal staff and provide intake services for clients in the programme 
    • Conduct mental health screening and risk assessment in order to respond or refer appropriately 
    • Ensure that clients requiring urgent intervention are seen and /or referred timeously 
    • Conduct client intake and assessment   
    • Provide therapeutic counselling, psycho social support and referral services   
    • Coordinate and facilitate training and development 
    • Work with stakeholders and partners

    Nurse Clinician - OR Tambo

    Purpose of the position:

    To provide a comprehensive community health service that includes HIV testing and counselling services linked to screening and diagnosing clients for TB/STIs as well as TB contact tracing.The provision of treatment, clinical care and case management for HIV clients, ensuring successful same-day ART initiation with an emphasis on adherence and retention in care. The role includes screening for TB, identifying asymptomatic and symptomatic clients, same-day initiation of TB Preventive Therapy (TPT), adherence and completion of treatment. For TB clients, TB treatment is started on diagnosed DS-TB results, with adherence and completion of treatment.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Bachelor's degree (B Cur Nursing) from four-year college or university
    • Experience in HIV counselling and testing in public health services
    • 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • SANC registered
    • NIMAART trained
    • Valid code 08 driver’s licence
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package
    • Ability to communicate in IsiXhosa and English or another South African language
    • Clear criminal record

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Coordinate and conduct outreach programmes and HTS services in the community, workplace and farms
    • Provide an enhanced appropriate package of treatment care and support of clients diagnosed with HIV, TB, STI’s, covid-19 case management and other health related conditions
    • Provide technical assistance in HIV counselling and recording
    • Collaborate with community role-players in engaging scaling up of TB/HIV service provision
    • Maintain relations with C&T and other NGO’s/ stakeholders working to support the programme
    • Appropriate referral of all the necessary health related conditions needing further management
