    Sales Consultant - Personal Lines

    What the day will look like

    • Prepares and processes quotes on the relevant systems and/ or as required.
    • Provides professional and accurate advice on cover, exclusions, terms and conditions and ensuring clients are advised of any underwriting requirements in terms of the policy.
    • Negotiates cover and rates with insurers on behalf of clients.
    • Responsible for generating new business according to set targets.
    • Ensures that proposals are correctly completed and follows up on outstanding documentation.
    • Follows up on quotes already produced and not yet accepted by clients.
    • Ensures that schemes run profitably by adhering strictly to the underwriting criteria.
    • Responsible for producing weekly and monthly operating/ sales reports.
    • Responsible for engaging in business development and/or contributing directly or indirectly to all business development efforts in Aon South Africa

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

    Qualifications.

    • Grade 12 (matric).
    • A Bachelor’s degree is preferable.
    • Registration as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act.

    Knowledge

    • Knowledge of the principles and practices within a technical/professional discipline.
    • Knowledge of applicable company policies and procedures.
    • Advanced analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.
    • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
    • Well-developed ability to work in and with teams.

    Experience

    • A minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in a sales
    • Experience and responsibility for organizing own workload and completion of tasks

    Lead Administrator

    What the day will look like

    •        Pre-qualify leads and distribute to the correct team via completion of client contact details, qualifying criteria, previous insurance and loss history, credit profile and basic needs analysis;
    •        Transfer prospect to appropriate team for continuation of sales process;
    •        Ensure correct marketing channel, campaign and source data is captured for marketing analytics purposes;
    •        Ensure correct product offered aligned to client needs analysis;
    •        Manage and achieve the lead to sales conversion;
    •        Support and actively participate and contribute towards team initiatives and any new branch strategies;
    •        Support fellow colleagues wherever possible and assist in fluctuating workloads;
    •        General administrative duties which also include lunch time duties and assisting when other staff members are absent due to sickness or are on leave;
    •        Plans and prioritises time and work in order to provide an efficient service
    •        Keep up with market trends within the insurance industry and be aware of competitor’s products
    •        Ensure that minimum operating standards as laid down by the division are adhered to

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

    Qualifications.

    •        A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
    •        Must be registered as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act
    •        Preferably have passed the RE exam

     

    Knowledge

    •            General knowledge and understanding of personal insurance.
    •            Be computer literate with knowledge of windows-based products and ability to use in-house programs.

     

    Skills and Attributes.

    •            Good interpersonal and time management skills.
    •            Ability to communicate optimally with good written and spoken communication skills.
    •            Must be reliable, self-motivated and have composure when dealing with demanding clients.
    •            Be a team player and take ownership for own development initiatives

     

    Experience.

    •            Preferably have experience in personal lines underwriting
