Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate and manage the filling and emptying of brandy barrels to/from maturation
• Coordinate and manage Quarterly Barrel Stock Take process
• Assist with monthly bulk stock take process
• Manage the transfer and taking up of matured and unmatured spirit products
• Preparing of samples for testing and/or Organoleptic assessment and classification
• Member of Tasting Panel
• Member of E2 Implementation Task Force
• Planning of daily tasks and activities to achieve departmental targets
• Ensure daily tasks are done to correct company procedures and work instructions
• Supervise subordinates and ensure good team morale
• Managing of the maturation department budget
• Assist with monthly Internal Control Checklists (ICC)
• Ensure compliance with OHSAct standards
• Effective Recordkeeping and compliance with ISO 9001 & 14001 standards
• Apply strict loss control measures
• Champion the E² (World-Class Manufacturing) Program activities and practices  
• Participate in effective problem solving
• Effective Coaching and development of subordinates
• Ad hoc duties when required
   

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications/experience/skills/attributes:

• Matric or equivalent
• A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience in a leadership capacity
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• An energetic self-starter who can work effectively with minimal supervision
• Computer literacy in MS Office, whilst knowledge of SAP will be advantageous
• Good organisational, coordination and planning skills
• Willingness to work long, irregular hours when required
• Punctuality and attendance reliability

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

• Assist Artisans in the execution of their work – installations, maintenance and steam generating activities
• Standing in as boiler operator when boiler operator/s are not available
• Maintain effective housekeeping and safety practices
• Operating according to standard operating procedures
• Active involvement in the department’s E² activities (Continuous Improvement)
• Performing any ad-hoc tasks as required
• General Civils e.g. brick laying, tiling, plumbing, painting, welding etc.
   

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications/experience/skills/attributes:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• NTC 2 in a technical field will be a strong advantage
• Relevant experience in a maintenance or civil environment
• Excellent welding skills will be advantageous
• Forklift licence will be a strong advantage
• Must be a team player with a “can-do” attitude
• Knowledge of health and safety practices/requirements
• Literacy – to complete inspection sheets (PM-PM) and job cards
• Be medically and physically fit
• Knowledge of safe working procedures
• Willingness to work overtime and irregular hours when necessary
• Punctuality and attendance reliability
