    Programmme Manager/HOD - Commerce

    Job Description

    The HOD/Programme Supervisor for the Faculty of Commerce is responsible for full programme management for the portfolio of programmes and staff management in the faculty. This means accountability for programme development and curriculum reviews, assessment alignment and development, module material updates and prescribed textbook lists.  

    REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

    • Minimum of an Honours or master’s degree in the cognate Faculty field
    • 3-4 Years Experience in education of which 2 years must be in a programme management role
    • Must be familiar with distance/online/Hybrid learning or distance learning.
    • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a TVET environment
    • Previous experience in managing a team of Programme Coordinators, Programme Administrators, Assessment Coordinators or similar. 
    • High level of competency in MS Offices, particularly Word, Excel
    • Advantageous: Familiar with formal assessment & moderation practices, design & development, & programme structuring

    • Administrative Oversight:

      • Study Material Review: Continuous review and improvement of study materials to ensure relevancy and compliance with criminal justice education standards
      • Assessment Development: Design, set, and mark assignments and examination papers, ensuring alignment with program learning outcomes and legal competencies
      • Student Interaction: Conduct and facilitate contact sessions, creating an engaging and interactive learning environment for students.
      • Student Support Coordination: Oversee the faculty's student support management system, including handling student queries and providing guidance
    • Quality Control:
      • Ensure the quality control of modules and programs allocated, maintaining alignment with legal accreditation and industry standards.
    • Committee Participation:
      •  Engage in various faculty and institutional committees as required, contributing legal expertise and insights.
    • Professional Development:
