    • Payment is based on hourly rates: from R63.00 up to R84.00 per hour, based on performance.

    Residence Advisor - Cape Town

    About the Position: 

    As an RA at EF you have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a diverse, international student population. The position provides great flexibility and requires you to wear many hats including administrator, leader, event coordinator, role model, counsellor, and policy enforcer (to name a few). This is a job where we truly ask you to bring your personality to the position.

    • You will report directly to the Accommodations/ Student Services Coordinator and assist them with associated tasks. 
    • Shifts occur during nights and weekends, making this a perfect part-time job for a university/ college student or an individual working a typical 9-5 job.
    • We may ask for some weekday availability for trainings at our office and on occasion for assistance with EF events and activities. 
    • While on duty, you will be performing administrative tasks, and be on call in the residence to assist with student's needs and queries.
    • You will assist with student check-in’s every weekend (Saturdays and Sundays), with Sunday’s being the most important day to attend to this.
    • You will also work closely monitoring the cleaning staff to make sure the residence is kept neat and tidy.
    • You will need to keep a logbook at the residence and record your inspections.
    • We also ask that you help plan and organise activities, do weekly room checks, and attend staff meetings.
    • Additional shifts may be requested to meet the demands of the school operations.
    • We are looking for RA's that not only are friendly and personable while working at the residence, but also can build meaningful connections with the students at the residence!
    • The part-time nature of the position also allows for the flexibility to pursue a graduate degree in related fields or maintain a "day job."  

    Please note, taking night classes cannot conflict with desk duty during the week.

    The Role: Activity & Admin Intern 
    Activity & Admin interns are required to support the Activities and Admin coordinator in organizing events, providing great customer service to our student population, being an outgoing and vivacious guide to Cape Town, and assisting our students by getting them involved in activities that we offer.

    This position also asks the applicant to help with administrative tasks, the volunteering programme and to have constant interaction with our students. Some examples of exciting activities the activity leader will lead include hiking, tours, coastal cruises, arts and crafts, and beach volleyball, just to name a few or accompany volunteering students to the organisation they work for.

    Activity and Admin interns will gain valuable experience planning and executing student activities, problem solving and working with a diverse global population.
