    Front Office Support

    Description of the role 

    • Front support role is an execution only role, the main task is to support the Swiss Private Banker and facilitate the day-to-day administration and servicing of Investec Switzerland clients. 

    Payments

    • Payment's execution encompassing processing of client instructions; authentication of the payment request from the instructing client, in accordance with the client identification process; Signature and registered e-mail verification; call back and archiving of the client instruction.
    • Front Support ensures that complete payment details have been provided on the instruction, which means that the payment details of the ordering party are applicable and correct and the details of the beneficiary are complete.
    • Check of the client's account to verify that the account is sufficiently funded to make the payment, including verification that there are no pending transactions with future value dates which will be uncovered should payment be executed.
    • Payments should not generate any shortfall (overdraft) on the account. If the account is blocked but payments are permitted, then Client Services should be requested to arrange for temporary unblocking of the account (inform Client Services once payment has been executed to ensure the account is blocked again). Depending on the type of block Front Support should liaise with the Swiss Private Banker to assess necessary steps.
    • Support payment execution and confirm to the client that the payment has been processed and confirm the value date (in future digitalization).

    Statements and Queries

    • Prepare and Generate statements as per client instructions.
    • Verification of the signatory rights requesting the statements; signature and e-mail verification and archiving of the client instruction.

    Online Banking Support

    • Support Swiss bankers with the new online Banking requests.
    • Support Swiss Bankers with online banking trouble shooting such as: forgotten passwords; locked out or SMS issues and liaising with the respective departments to solve the technical issues (client services; IT).
    • Communicating new passwords telephonically.

    Credit Card Support

    • Support the Swiss Bankers with queries for new credit cards; support in preparing the required form for the credit card company; archiving of the client instruction.

    Additional responsibilities

    • Conduct business in accordance with the rules, guidelines, and expectations of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) and Investec's compliance guidelines.
    • Align to the Investec values e.g., to work collaboratively with all relevant parties; act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly.
    • Payments are conducted in accordance to expectations of IBSAG; the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) and Investec's compliance guidelines.
    • Upon request, the Front Support team provides support to Swiss Bankers with ad hoc administrative tasks.

    Property Risk Consultant – Hybrid

    Description of the role 

    Investec (Johannesburg) is looking for an experienced individual with a passion for property and numbers who can amplify and evolve our engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

    The individual's primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

    The ongoing oversight and risk assessment of Investec's development bonds (residential, commercial, industrial, and retail).
    Overseeing will be required from inception including testing of the project feasibility and looking at the overall profitability of a development.
    Through close communication with clients and their professionals, the successful candidate will be required to manage the proposed developments within the parameters agreed with the client and always ensuring Investec's risk is always adequately mitigated.
    The role will also encompass regular interaction with our other Regional Property Risk teams, assisting with deals written in other branches but located in Johannesburg and the identification, assessment, and management of potential property-related risks as they relate to all aspects of property that affect Investec.
    The Result

    Risk Management

    •  A keen understanding of Risk Management as it relates to property as collateral security, with a specific focus on the identification and implementation of processes and controls to mitigate/manage such risks pro-actively.

    Development Bonds

    • In an attempt to safeguard Investec's interests in developments that are financed by the bank, the following would be applicable:
    •  Knowledge and understanding of the Town Planning process as it relates to property and the development thereof.
    •  Knowledge and understanding of all regulatory and legal building requirements.
    •  Knowledge and understanding of the various legal agreements used during the construction process, i.e. JBCC, PROCSA etc.
    •  Staying abreast of the inherent risks associated with lending to properties under development.
    •  Keeping abreast of current market conditions (building rates) across the various types of property.
    •  A thorough understanding of current building technologies with an ability to identify any issues, i.e. structural, and quality.
    •  Analysing and assessing new developments' feasibilities and the viability of those proposed developments.
    •  The assessment and authorisation of monthly payments on development bonds that Investec is financing.
    •  Monthly reporting and analysis as it relates to developments funded by Investec Johannesburg as per the above.
    •  Interaction with clients (internal & external) and professionals on a regular basis.

    Property Valuations

    •  A strong and thorough understanding of all valuation techniques and what impacts the critical variables based on changes in the macro and micro environment in order to continuously remain relevant in the field.
    •  Co-approval and quality control of internal and external valuations.
    •  Co-approval of pre-sale and pre-let audits in various types of developments being financed by Investec.

    Finops Specialist (ITS - Business Management Team)

    Description
    The Finops Specialist is responsible for performing financial operations (Finops) activities that cover on-premise and cloud estate consumption, optimization, and cost management, with a high prioritisation on cloud Finops.  The role will manage and optimise resources and costs in an on-premise and cloud computing environment. This includes activities such as monitoring and analyzing cloud usage and costs, identifying cost drivers, implementing cost-saving strategies, and ensuring cost-effective utilization of cloud resources. 

    The Finops Specialist will work closely with cross-functional technical teams, including Engineering, Architecture, and IT Operations, as well as the Finance teams to align Finops activities with business objectives and drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness across both on-premise and cloud environments. This role requires strong analytical skills to analyze financial and operational data, financial acumen to provide insights and recommendations, and expertise in cloud computing platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, to effectively manage and optimize cloud resources and costs.

    Qualifications:

    •  Strong understanding of financial principles and practices, with experience in financial analysis and reporting.
    •  Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, and experience in cloud cost management and optimization.
    •  Familiarity with financial management tools and systems, including cloud financial management tools.
    •  Relevant certifications in Finops, cloud cost management, or finance (e.g. FinOps Certified Practitioner, AWS Certified Cloud Financial Management, etc.) are desirable. 
    •  AZ-900 a must, and other Azure certifications are of benefit.

    Description

    AV VC Team Lead (Networks & Communications)

    Receptionist - Mbombela

    Description of the role 

    The successful candidate will be responsible for serving visitors and internal clients by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately, notifying staff of visitors' arrival as well as maintaining records of incoming and outgoing mail that pass-through reception. The candidate will ensure the allocated administrative functions run smoothly on a day-to-day basis. The candidate will work alongside the other receptionist.
