    Cabinet Maker - Johannesburg

    Orion Real Estate currently seeking a highly skilled Cabinet Maker to join our team and contribute to the successful completion of custom cabinetry projects. The Cabinet Maker will be responsible for crafting, repairing, and installing various types of cabinets and other wooden pieces according to clients' specifications. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a passion for creating high-quality cabinetry.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications provided by clients and designers to determine requirements for custom cabinetry projects.
    • Select and procure high-quality lumber and other materials necessary for cabinet production.
    • Operate various woodworking machinery and tools, including saws, planers, routers, and joinery equipment, to shape, cut, assemble, and finish wooden components.
    • Precisely measure, mark, and cut materials to ensure accurate and tight-fitting joints and connections.
    • Assemble components using adhesives, screws, nails, or dowels, following established cabinet-making techniques and standards.
    • Apply finishes, stains, and paints to the completed cabinets to enhance their appearance and protect the wood from damage.
    • Install cabinets at clients' premises, ensuring proper alignment, functioning doors and drawers, and overall customer satisfaction.
    • Inspect finished cabinets for any defects, malfunctions, or imperfections and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
    • Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other team members to coordinate efforts and deliver projects within designated timelines.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring the proper storage, maintenance, and safety of all tools and equipment.
    • Stay updated with the latest trends, techniques, and materials in cabinet making through continuous learning and professional development.

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
    • Relevant tertiary qualification and / or apprenticeship in cabinet making or a related field.
    • At least 2 years of experience working on high-end or custom cabinetry projects.
    • Certification in woodworking or other relevant certifications.
    • Proven experience as a Cabinet Maker or similar role.
    • In-depth knowledge of woodworking machinery and tools, and strong proficiency in their safe operation.
    • Exceptional manual dexterity and woodworking skills to produce high-quality, precise, and aesthetically pleasing cabinetry.
    • Familiarity with different types of wood and their characteristics, as well as knowledge of adhesives, finishes, and paints commonly used in cabinet making.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
    • Strong mathematical skills to accurately measure, calculate dimensions, and perform complex calculations.
    • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all cabinet-making tasks.
    • Effective time management and organization skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
    • Physical stamina and the ability to work in a standing position for extended periods.

    Hotel Reservationist - Rustenburg

    Main Responsibilities:

    Reservation Management:

    • Receive and process reservation requests via telephone, email, or through an online reservation system (OTA).
    • Accurately input guest information, reservation details, and special requests into the hotel's reservation system (Protel).
    • Verify availability and provide accurate information regarding room rates, promotions, and amenities.
    • Utilize upselling techniques to increase revenue by promoting additional services or room upgrades.
    • Confirm reservations and immediately communicate any changes or cancellations to guests.

    Guest Relations:

    • Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to guest inquiries and resolving any issues or complaints.
    • Anticipate guest needs and personalize their stay by making recommendations on local attractions, dining options, and entertainment.

    • Assist with managing and updating the online reservation system, ensuring rates and availability are correctly displayed.

    Requirements:

    Education and Experience:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
    • Previous experience in hotel reservations or guest services required.
    • Proficiency in using hotel reservation systems and technology, such as Protel or Opera, is advantageous.

    Skills and Abilities:

    Shopping Centre Manager - Mbombela

    Job Summary:

    The Centre Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and overall management of a mixed-use Centre located in Mbombela in the Mpumalanga province. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the smooth functioning of the Centre, drive business growth, and enhance the overall customer and tenant experience.  This position requires a combination of leadership, operational expertise, strategic thinking, and exceptional customer service skills.

    Responsibilities:

    Operations Management:

    • Oversee all aspects of the Centre's operations, including leasing, tenant relations, maintenance, security, housekeeping, waste management, and parking.
    • Develop and implement efficient operational procedures to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for visitors and tenants.
    • Monitor facility maintenance and repair activities, ensuring they are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
    • Regularly conduct inspections to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and health standards.

    Tenant Relations:

    • Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities.

    Customer Experience:

    • Champion a culture of exceptional customer service throughout the entire Centre.

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications and Experience:

    • Grade 12 and / or equivalent qualification.
    • A tertiary qualification in business administration, management, or a related field will be an added advantage.
    • A valid driver's license and own reliable transport essential.
    • At least 3 - 5 years of proven experience as a Centre Manager or in a similar role.
    • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to effectively interact with tenants, customers, and senior management.
    • Sound financial acumen and the ability to create and manage budgets and control costs.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
    • In-depth knowledge of retail operations, leasing, and property management.
    • A track record of successfully driving business growth and enhancing customer satisfaction.
    • Proficient in using computer software and applications, including but not limited to MS Office and others related to property management and financial reporting.
