    Job Description

    As a Marketing Consultant you will be responsible for key marketing activities, including externally focused as well as internally focused communications.

    The expectation of the candidate will include, but not limited to:

    • Manage our online marketing presence
    • Manage the marketing online ad spend

    Junior Legal Associate - Craighall

    Job Description

    Legal Associate - a junior associate, with commercial litigation experience, for our internal legal department.

    Spartan requires a Junior Legal Associate to fulfil the legal function in transaction execution, post-transaction monitoring and project management for recoveries: 

    This is NOT a legal advisor role NOR a regulatory compliance role.

    • Assisting with the vetting of the terms and conditions of deals from a legal perspective prior to the Credit Committee approving a deal
    • Drafting legal agreements and related documents from standard templates (e.g. Loan Agreements, Pledge and Cession Agreements, Guarantees, etc.)
    • Instructing attorneys to attend to the registration of securities (e.g. mortgage bonds, special notarial bonds, etc.)
    • Liaising with colleagues regarding conditions, implementation, and execution of deals
    • Ensuring compliance with all other conditions of a deal prior to disbursing funds on a deal
    • Assisting with general recovery matters (e.g. Sending letters of demand/breach, liaising with external attorneys, etc.)
    • General monitoring of portfolio 
    • Provide legal advice and services to the organisation in corporate and commercial matters
    • Performing KYC/FICA/AML/PEP checks on clients
    • Drafting finance facility Term Sheets, ensuring they encapsulate the terms of the credit approval and perform general administration in respect of the facility agreement preparations and finalisation
    • Attend to queries from credit analysts, operations, and clients, providing legal expertise to the Credit Committee
    • Draft documentation including regulatory required documents, non-standard security agreements and resolutions.
    • To ensure that all client documents are up to date and signed off correctly and all required information is loaded onto the system

    As a Funding Readiness Consultant, you will be expected to manage your portfolio by identifying and preparing tailored made communications and clearing the way for SMEs to receive funding.

    Job Description

     

    As a Credit Analyst, you will analyse financial statements of multiple SMEs in South Africa across various industry sectors with the aim of providing balanced feedback to the Credit Committee.

    The candidate will be expected to:

    • Engage and interview the entrepreneurs

    • Use inhouse and external rating agency credit rating tools and other economic indicators to supplement analysis

    Accountant - Craighall

    Purpose of the Role

    This opportunity requires a self-aware, conscientious, and precise team-player who has general accounting experience with exposure to debtors, creditors, banking, journals and reconciliations.  Experience with loan amortisations is preferred but not essential however a conceptual understanding of loan and lease amortisations is essential.

    The individual will report to the Group Finance Manager and will work closely with their likeminded team.

    Job Description

    As an Accountant, you will prepare journals, reconcile accounts and prepare management account information for multiple companies within the group.

    The candidate’s role will be drawn from the following outputs (the final job specification will be tailored to the chosen candidate’s experience and aptitude):

    • Ensuring the accuracy of loan drawdown repayment calculations, including calculations of interest on arrears, early, settlements, and detailed amortisations.
    • Balance sheet reconciliations related to customer accounts 
    • Generate invoices and credit notes
    • Customer (borrowers) payment allocations and loan reconciliations
    • Sending invoices with statements and payment reminder emails to customers
    • Preparation and loading of debit orders
    • Management and resolution of unpaid obligations

    Performing accounting functions including:

    • Journals
    • VAT Calculations and Reconciliations
    • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
    • Balancing Intercompany loan accounts
    • Cash Flow Management
    • Checking/preparing bank reconciliations daily
    • Loading banking transactions
    • Audit Assistance – Prepare audit packs and liaise with auditors

     Minimum requirements

    • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting as a major and Finance as a subject) or equivalent tertiary qualification
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting/bookkeeping  role
    • Experience on Microsoft 365, Xero, Microsoft Teams, and Standard Bank Business online an advantage

    • 3+ years of accounting / bookkeeping experience
