    Manager Supply Services & Master Data

    The purpose of the role is to lead, develop and manage the performance of the South32 Global Business Services (GBS) Supply and Master Data team to ensure timely and accurate execution of mandated activities; with effective delivery of all relevant functional services, in accordance with the Standards, Policies, Standard Operating Procedures and regional legislation, to all South32 customers. Responsible for strategic direction and relationships with business leaders representing the GBS Supply and Master Data Function

    ABOUT YOU:

    You will be required to have the following.

    • Serious contenders will have Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Commerce, Finance or related disciplines with a minimum of 10 years relevant professional experience with at least 5 years of managerial experience.
    • Experience within the Supply Services or Master Data Services function of a large Global organisation is essential.
    • Working knowledge of process improvement processes and methodology is essential.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Manage the teams responsible for Invoice Processing,Service Entry Sheet Capturing, Vendor Queries, Contract Administration, GR/IR and eBusiness support.
    • Ensure responsibility for the management of master data, including the enforcement of enterprise business rules, data policies and standards.
    • Support the Head of GBS by contributing to the formulation of the Global Business Services vision, plan and strategy.
    • Understand and influence the business strategies and goals and assist in translating them into process-driven activities to be executed by the Supply and Master Data Global Business Services functional team.
    • Manage costs and budget. Ensure performance targets are met and take accountability for delivering against them.
    • Drive initiatives to improve the overall performance of the Supply and Master Data function by optimising the utilisation of existing processes, practices and systems.
    • Lead, motivate, coach and develop team members to deliver and maintain operational discipline; ensure delivery of service is compliant, timely and customer focused (meeting SLA’s);
    • Build and maintain strong business relationships with all key stakeholders across the Group.
    • Manage, understand, monitor and control risks associated with the functional area and create improvement plans for risks that are not well controlled.
    • Ensure compliance with all internal controls, agreements, systems, standards and procedures as well as legislative requirements and statutory reporting.
    • Lead system changes and user acceptance testing for the function where necessary.

    Maintenance Analaysis and Assurance - South32, Wessels Mine

    POSITION SYNOPSIS:

    • The purpose of the role is to assist the maintenance team of Plants and Fleet maintenance foremen, to ensure the effective execution of breakdown, unplanned and planned maintenance work.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Serious contenders will have Grade 12 with mathematics and science together with N3 Technical Certificate and a valid Trade Test together with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience on electrical and mechanical maintenance management on process plants;
    • Knowledge of RCM (RCA/ FMEA) process is essential.
    • Asset performance calculations experience is essential;
    • Failure analysis experience is essential;
    • Ability to extract and analyze ERP/SAP information is essential;
    • Six Sigma (Green or Black belt) will be advantageous.

    CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Evaluating maintenance KPIs, asset system performance and executing plans and activities to close identified gaps;
    • Evaluates maintenance master data including maintenance strategies, corrective task lists and work instructions and verifies the plant and equipment structural integrity and statutory compliance;
    • Evaluates maintenance execution work quality to identify variations and deviations from the Asset Management standard;
    • Initiate and manage the improvement initiatives within the Maintenance function;
    • Initiates engineering notifications to modify plant and equipment when existing maintenance strategies do not support required plant and equipment availability and monitors change through to completion;
    • Evaluates maintenance master data including maintenance strategies, corrective task lists and work instructions for project delivery in support of the Operational Readiness and Handover Plan;
    • Aligns cross-functional activities with the Production Analysis and Improvement sub-function and the Integrated Operations Analysis and Improvement sub-function;

    Maintenance Analysis Improvement

    POSITION SYNOPSIS:

    The purpose of the role is to ensure compliance with the Maintenance programme for the defined operational area. Ensures effective maintenance management and continuous improvement in a safe and sustainable manner.  Implementation of improvement initiatives that enables functional excellence and support business priorities.     REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ensure statutory and legislative compliance of relevant equipment within the operation a defined in the OHSA;
    • Promote operating discipline related to the SAP work management processes,
    • Ensure maintenance teams understand the value of SAP work management processes and related metrics;
    • Liaise and engage with external stakeholders to ensure sustainable operations and risk mitigation;
    • Effectively deliver scope of works as prioritized in the annual maintenance sourcing plan.

    Specialist Security A&I T&S

    POSITION SYNOPSIS:

    The Specialist Security Analyst is responsible for performing monitoring, research, assessment, and analysis on various operational and intelligence platforms and/or feeds.

    Additionally, the Intelligence Analyst s responsible for conducting comprehensive threat/security assessments and all-source information gathering, to create highly detailed intelligence reports used to support a variety of Hillside operations.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Serious contenders will have a Degree / BTECH / National Diploma in Data Analysis / Criminology / National Security, Criminal Justice, Journalism, International Affairs or related field
    • A minimum of 5 years of verifiable, security or intelligence analysis experience.
    • Valid Code E/EB driving license is essential.
    • Information analysis experience with in depth knowledge of processing criminal/political intelligence and application of technology in the field of intelligence is essential.

    CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Ensure that the tactical crime intelligence process runs without interruptions and on a 24/7 basis;
    • Monitor and analyze events to identify and assess threats to the South 32’s specific operations, assets, and personnel
    • Monitor social media on a regular basis for all threats and security-related intelligence with regard to risks to South 32
    • Work with local law enforcement, including regulatory and standards bodies, to ensure appropriate responses to security incidents involving personnel and/or assets
    • Produce briefings or presentations related to security threats and incidents related to day-to-day and long term concerns
    • Design and execute the security communication strategy based on prevailing crime trends and on-site security non-conformances;
    • Ensure that all Security related incidents are documented and processed as required;
    • Maintain at-risk Contractor Database;
    • Continuous development and improvement of security systems to support execution of the 4-D Security strategy;
    • Align security incident management with ISOMETRIX;
    • Identify gaps in security operations and make recommendations and corrections based on analysis (in time and/or immediate as dictated by security risk);
    • Analyze failures and implement relevant actions and learnings from external Security ICAMS and other Industry learnings;

    Supervisor Grade Control - South32, Wessels Mine

    POSITION SYNOPSIS:

    The purpose of this role is to ensure optimal and safe extraction of the ore reserve, in line with product quality requirements.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Serious contenders will have a National diploma / degree in Geology / Metallurgy / Chemistry with minimum of 2 years relevant supervisory experience. Experience in Grade control, Plant processing and Laboratory will be essential;
    • Underground experience is essential;
    • Computer Literacy in MS Office Suite and data management is essential;
    • Valid Driver’s license is essential;

    CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Conduct health and safety inspections of the sampling facilities;
    • Compliance to quality assurance/ quality control protocols or system;
    • Compile the Daily/Weekly sample preparation schedule;
    • Set priorities for different samples daily and communicate to Sampling teams;
    • Receive and interpret the samples grade information from the lab and communicate to the relevant stakeholders;
    • Coordinate inspection and maintenance of Sampling equipment according to ISO Standard;
    • Coordinate the Management of Product Stockpiles;
    • Drive continuous improvement through KPI management;
    • Conduct individual improvements projects with respect to time, cost and quality;
    • Compile Daily/Weekly/ Monthly grade control reports.

    Specialist Security Operations T&S

    POSITION SYNOPSIS:
    The purpose of this role will be to plan, lead, execute- and coordinate Security and Emergency Service operations at Hillside. Conduct site-specific security verifications, threat- and vulnerability assessments and make recommendations aligned with the security strategy. Quality Control and verification of the security/emergency services operations, execute Verification Tasks as required and allocated, coordinate and assist with security and/or fire investigations on site, report all Safety and Security/Emergency Incidents. Submit position specific related Reports as required and manage the Security/Emergency Service Providers and -Contracts on site.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Serious contenders will have a Degree/BTECH/National Diploma in Security Management with a minimum of at least 5 years working experience working on large project/s with multiple departments and numerous different contracting companies.
    • Serious contenders should have experience in supervising/managing both security and fire emergency teams including CCTV Systems.
    • Valid driver’s license is essential.
    • In-depth knowledge and proven operations and application of Health and Safety systems within the field heavy industry Environment.

    CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Execute, align and implement the Security Strategy and action plans for the site of responsibility.
    • Improve security performance by implementing corrective actions, new initiatives and suggestions from stakeholders.
    • Oversee the Security Contract on site and ensure compliance of Security Service Provider (SSP) with the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and site-specific security requirements.
    • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of- and ensure adherence and execution of the Security Management Plans, -Procedures and -Instructions on site.
    • Review Security Procedures, - documents and forms as required and on time.
    • Security Incidents: Manage and control any given commercial crime scene. Identify, handle and defuse security related conflict. Investigate Security events and close out actions on time.
    • Security Systems: Ensure that all security systems on site is in a working order and report any system failure on site immediate (e.g. Alarm systems, CCTV, Xtime).
    • Contractor Management: Ensure compliance of the on-site Security/Fire/Surveillance Service Providers with the SLA and report any non-conformances.
    • Efficient use of all security technological systems currently installed including but not limited too access control, Breathalyzer, CCTV to best support business operations.
    • Conducting investigations for all fires, fire alarms and emergency incidents in areas under Hillside’s control.
    • Ensure training, development and appropriate fitness of full-time fire team and part-time PROTO team.
    • Ensure Fire Detecting systems as well as Firefighting / Rescue equipment, including fire tenders, are in proper working condition.
    • Managing of inspections with regards to all fire breaks and access routes Plant-wide.
    • Monitor attendance to all spillages in and around the Plant (Pot-run outs, chemical, oil, product, cargo, etc.).Operating and monitoring of Fire Control Panels and computer systems in Control rooms
    • Co-ordinate fire and rescue simulations and participation in emergency drills, and involvement in onsite fire and rescue training.
    • Manage the fire rescue contract by ensuring that all staff are appropriately trained and competent to perform their duties.

    Superintendent Ventilation Health and Hygiene - South32, Wessels Mine

    POSITION SYNOPSIS:

    Purpose of the role will range from Managing staff, Mine ventilation planning, conducting workplace over-inspections, and investigations to identifying root causes within business processes and developing systemic solutions to eliminate reoccurrence.  

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Serious contenders will have a Mine Environmental Control certificate with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing in Occupational Health and Hygiene Program and Ventilation network of an underground mine of which 2 years at least in a supervisory capacity.
    • Extensive experience in an Underground Trackless Mining environment is essential.
    • Experience in ventilation simulation programmes (VUMA and/or VENTSIM) is advantageous.
    • Be in possession of a hygiene qualification or Appropriate Tertiary qualification will be beneficial.
    • Professional registration

    CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Develop, implement and verify operational controls that would ensure compliance to Fatal Risk Control Standards and other South32 HSE requirements.
    • Will carry the responsibility to plan the underground ventilation system, simulate it and optimize it.  This includes the planning for  monthly, 1 year and 3-year ventilation plans. 
    • Develop, implement and maintain an up-to-date risk register of catastrophic risks, preventative and mitigating controls and conduct inspections and audits to ensure execution of control measures to reduce and eliminate risks.
    • To utilize his/her skills and knowledge and ensure the application, by his/her team, of Ventilation Engineering management systems, processes, policies, and resources provided, to meet the short and medium term demands so that the company remains competitive.
    • The position entails the implementation of a pro-active approach to Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene issues in the workplace and requires effective coordination, conduct risk assessment and planning, thus ensuring alignment with the production plan of the operation.
    • Conduct workplace inspections to monitor compliance to legal/statutory requirements and identify gap closing action plans with the intent of ensuring that risks are identified and appropriately addressed to retain license to operate.
    • Provide in-depth analysis on HSE data and in conjunction with other business indicators to continuously improve HSE standards to achieve a zero-harm organization

    Analyst Condition Monitoring trackless mobile machine maintenance- South32, Wessels Mine

    POSITION SYNOPSIS:

    You will be responsible for assisting the maintenance team of Trackless Mobile Machines maintenance foremen, to ensure the effective execution of breakdown, unplanned and planned maintenance work.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Serious contenders will have Grade 12 or N3 Technical Certificate;
    • A valid Trade Test together with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience on CAT AD30 Hauler, CAT 730 Hauler, CAT R1700 Loader, R1600 Loader and CAT 980G Loader maintenance;
    • Underground hard rock mining experience and condition monitoring knowledge will be advantageous;
    • SAP & CAT ET, SIS software knowledge will be advantageous.

    CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Ensuring maximum equipment availability, reliability and operational stability;
    • Manage and administrate oil analysis program as per SAP;
    • Manage the close lube system on all Trackless Mobile Fleet;
    • Do structural analysis during major services using NDT techniques and take control on quality of structural repairs;
    • Track, report and manage wear on G.E.T;
    • Do fleet component tracking and keep record of all warranty components;
    • Compile management reports related to Condition Monitoring;
    • To assist Mobile Fleet requests without compromising the ConMon roles and responsibilities.

    Supervisor Instrumentation Eng

    POSITION SYNOPSIS:

    The purpose of your role is to lead a team of instrument artisans and be responsible for the execution of Work Management and supervise work execution, inspections, and observations in a safe and sustainable manner. This position will report to the Technical Support Superintendent Process Control & Automation within the Engineering Department.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • The successful candidate will have a N6 National Diploma with a recognized instrument trade test OR a T3/S4 in an Engineering field. A minimum of 3-5 years instrumentation or automation experience is essential of which at least 1 year must have been in a supervisory capacity.
    • Experience in Allen Bradley PLC systems and programming, ABB Robotics and Wonderware SCADA systems development is critical to this position;
    • Be prepared to work shifts if needed and perform standby duties from time to time as required by the organisation.

    • Supervise activities of the Instrument team according to company procedures and schedules and ensure that all work objectives are safely achieved.
    • Critical to this role is achieving the agreed KPI’s for instrumentation equipment in the plant;

    • Ensuring effective execution of all maintenance activities during outages and handing over the equipment to production timeously for plant start-up’s;
    • Management and development of the instrument team in such a way to ensure a positive IR climate.
    • Continuous engagement with plant stakeholders to ensure instrument maintenance and calibration schedules are valid and adhered to.
