    Developer - Internship Role (JHB)

    Role:

    • Our highly successful national client is looking for a bright and ambitious developer for their team.
    • You are not expected to know anything, you will be provided with courses as well as on the job training which will last for over 4 months.
    • This role can be Cape Town or Jhb based.

    Responsibilities:

    • Research and development.
    • Development. Scrum is the project methodology.
    • The code is written in 4GL which runs on a Unix platform.
    • You will have the opportunity to test and debug software.

    SOC Manager

    What you will be doing:

    • Lead our client's 24/7 SOC team to make sure we're monitoring security and responding to incidents effectively.
    • Take charge of SIEM and other security platforms to manage and correlate logs effectively.
    • Develop and improve SOC processes, playbooks, and response procedures to make things run smoother.
    • Manage and improve threat intelligence, detection engineering, and response capabilities.
    • Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance security monitoring coverage.
    • Set KPIs and SLAs for SOC performance, focusing on detection time, response time, and how well we're mitigating threats.
    • Make sure we're compliant with security frameworks like NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, PCI DSS, GDPR, and POPIA.
    • Recruit, mentor, and develop SOC analysts to build a high-performing security team.
    • Be the go-to person for critical security incidents, leading response efforts and investigations.

    What our client is looking for:

    • A relevant tertiary degree would be beneficial (Cybersecurity, Computer Science, etc.)
    • Relevant certifications would be highly beneficial - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), etc.
    • 5 - 10 years in operations, security monitoring, and incident response.
    • 3+ years in a leadership role within a SOC.
    • Strong knowledge of SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and firewall technologies.
    • Expertise in security frameworks and regulations, including MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, GDPR, and POPIA.
    • Hands-on experience with threat hunting, log analysis, and forensic investigations.
    • Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a team.

    SOC II Analyst

    What you will be doing:

    • Keep a close eye on and investigate security alerts from different sources, like SIEM, Defender for Endpoint, Mimecast, and firewall logs.
    • Dig deep into security incidents and come up with practical solutions for incident response.
    • Create and improve SOC automation playbooks within our SOAR to make things faster and more efficient.
    • Work with threat intelligence teams to connect the dots between Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), and attack patterns.
    • Tweak SIEM rules and detection logic to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy.
    • Coach and mentor L1 SOC Analysts, helping them develop their technical and analytical skills.
    • Create SOC reports for internal and external stakeholders to keep everyone in the loop and maintain accountability in security monitoring.

    What our client is looking for:

    • Relevant certifications would be highly beneficial - Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), etc.
    • 3+ years experience in SOC operations, cybersecurity analysis, or threat detection.
    • Strong SIEM (Graylog preferred), EDR (Defender for Endpoint, SentinelOne), SOAR (FortiSOAR), and firewall security expertise.
    • Hands-on MITRE ATT&CK framework, threat hunting, and digital forensics experience.
    • Skilled in writing correlation rules, detection tuning, and scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash preferred).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for high-pressure SOC environments.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration, reporting, and customer engagement.

    DevOps Engineer

    What you will be doing:

    • Work autonomously and collaboratively with the Head of Technology to manage and run the technical operations of the business.
    • Oversee the administration and maintenance of company databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security.
    • Assist in the development and optimization of database structures, queries, and stored procedures.
    • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
    • Write scripts (Python) to automate tasks and improve system operations.
    • Leverage APIs to increase the speed, reliability and efficiency of software delivery pipelines.
    • Manage and maintain Google Workspace accounts, including user provisioning, security settings, and troubleshooting.

    • Provide high-level technical support.

    Demonstrated experience in any of the following will fast track your application:

    • 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar position.
    • Experience with SQL and other relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
    • Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes would be a benefit.
    • Understanding of scripting (Python ideally) or a willingness to learn.
    • Knowledge of cloud architecture, hosting and maintenance - Google is preferred.
    • Experience with relevant APIs and version control systems such as Git.
