Specific Role Responsibilities
- Carry out fault diagnosis to aid and speed vehicle servicing.
- Ensure diagnostic equipment is used in vehicle examinations.
- Ensure DCSA procedures and policies are carried out during repairs and printouts kept.
- Ensure faults are accurately diagnosed to customers’ satisfaction.
- Discuss matter with Service Advisors as required and provide lucid explanations.
- Co-Operate in vehicle care and safety whilst dealing with vehicles.
- Ensure that comebacks are limited to minimum.
- Attend to breakdown calls as and when required.
- Ensure vehicles are returned to customer after service in neat, clean condition.
- All parts to be signed for at parts department and used on relevant vehicle.
- Unused parts to be returned to parts department.
- Ensure diagnosis leads to most cost-effective and accurate remedy to fault or customer complaint.
- Give advice or use techniques which ensure quality but safe time.
- Provide a fault finding and systems diagnostic service on motor vehicles to aid and speed the work of mechanics.
- Complete forms and documentation included in the company’s service routine.
- Draft and prepare any reports required.
- Make suggestions and give advice regarding any special promotional campaign and take part in campaign.
- Ensure that overalls and work area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Job Cards to be complete in full handed to service advisor as soon as vehicle is repaired and repair clocking carried out correctly.
- Attend training courses provided by Daimler and Cargo Motors.
- Assist with other reasonable requested duties as and when required.
- To provide a technical and diagnostic service within the service department.
- To utilize modern diagnostic equipment to maximum in effecting vehicle service and to interpret findings.
- To discuss service detail with customer as required.
- To accomplish servicing of electric equipment as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- NQF Level 4 (Grade 12 or equivalent) – Maths and Physical Science
- N2 – Engineering Science, Technical Drawing, Maths, Diesel Trade Theory
- Level 3 Apprentice exam results from MTA OR TVET College
- Drivers License

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Complete all necessary and relevant training as required by the OEM (online, classroom, other mediums of training) within reasonable time frames.
Admin functions:

- Ensure effective communication with team members and colleagues across departments, with customers and service providers.
- Participate in marketing campaigns when required for the furtherance of the business.

Skills and Expertise Required:
- Qualified Technician, minimum 3 years Ford technician experience is essential.
- Master Tech experience is required.
- Ford Master Technician certification and Ford warranty repairs work experience preferred.
- Relevant OEM product training - will be an advantage.
- Need excellent “fix right first time” track record.
- Competent at operating manufacturer diagnostic equipment/ computer in order to access information required to perform the role and complete duties associated with the role.

- Ensure that the vehicle is kept as clean as possible and that all seat and fender covers are clean
- Do not leave keys in an unattended vehicle
- Ensure that work bay is kept safe, clean and tidy
- Report any faulty / broken equipment to the Foreman / Workshop Manager
- Ensure that special tools and equipment are used according to safety regulations and specifications
- Ensure that hand tools set conforms to Motus standard
- Accept responsibility for apprentice and impart as much technical knowledge to him as possible through explanation, practice and the monitoring of work, including rectifying faults

Key Responsibilities:
Warranty Claims Processing:
- Review, validate, and process warranty claims submitted by dealers, ensuring compliance with OEM warranty policies and procedures.
- Verify claim eligibility by cross-checking vehicle service history, repair data, and parts used.
- Ensure claims are accurately documented, including labor times, diagnostic procedures, and parts replacements.
- Process warranty claim payments, including credit notes or reimbursements, within the specified timeframes.
Dealer Support & Communication:
- Act as the main point of contact for dealers regarding warranty-related inquiries.
- Provide training and guidance to dealers on OEM warranty processes, ensuring they understand claim submission requirements.
- Liaise with dealers to resolve any warranty disputes or issues related to rejected claims.
- Track dealer compliance with warranty processes and escalate non-compliance issues as necessary.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure that all warranty claims comply with the OEM’s warranty policy and local regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all warranty claims, supporting documentation, and correspondence.
- Conduct regular audits on submitted claims to identify discrepancies or fraudulent activity and take corrective action when necessary.
Reporting & Data Analysis:
- Monitor and analyze warranty claim trends, including common repair issues, parts usage, and claim rejections.
- Provide regular reports to the Warranty Manager/Aftersales Manager on warranty performance metrics, including cost analysis and dealer performance.
- Identify areas for improvement in warranty processes and suggest potential solutions to reduce claim turnaround times and improve dealer compliance.
Collaboration with Internal Teams:
- Work closely with the technical team to gather necessary documentation and data for complex or high-value warranty claims.
- Liaise with the parts department to ensure correct parts information is used in claim submissions.
- Collaborate with finance teams to reconcile warranty claim payments and provide accurate financial forecasting for warranty-related expenses.
Continuous Improvement:
- Keep up-to-date with OEM warranty policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
- Participate in OEM training programs to improve knowledge of warranty claim handling and dealership support.
- Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to enhancing warranty claim efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a post-secondary qualification in business administration, automotive technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a warranty administration role, preferably within an OEM or automotive dealership environment.
- Knowledge of automotive systems, parts, and repair processes.
- Familiarity with warranty claim management software or dealer management systems.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Experience
- NQF Level 4 Qualification (equivalent to Matric)
- Valid driver’s license. (Code 14)
- Clear Criminal Record
- 3-years minimum sales experience in the Truck Industry.
- Must have Mercedes-Benz vehicle sales experience
- Volume sales experience (Mercedes-Benz Trucks)
- OEM/MB Certification (C-Sales Executive) as an added advantage
- Work related/ OEM related system know-how.

- Repair and servicing of vehicles according to dealer/distributor standards and within the flat rate
- Establish parts required for service/repair to be performed and ensured correct parts are ordered
- Report to Service Foreman promptly on any additional work required

- Advise Management prior to fitting any major parts outside the norm for routine servicing/repair

- Note the description of all work performed on the back of Repair Order if required
- Place all used parts in plastic bag, except oil & fuel filters, and place on passenger floor
- All warranty replaced parts to be tagged according to laid down rules, and handed to Parts department
- Ensure all oils and parts used are booked out on Repair Order
- Ensure vehicle is kept as clean as possible, and use all protective items supplied
- Ensure work bay is kept safe, clean and tidy
- Ensure time started and completed are entered on Repair Order (Clocking)
- Report any faulty and / or broken equipment is reported to management
- Ensure all special tools and equipment are used with utmost care
- To possess a complete set of tools, as per distributor requirements, and maintain in good working order
- Ensure a neat appearance at all times - overalls to be changed after heavy repairs
- Maintain cordial relationship with workshop staff
- Training as per HQS Requirements
- Standby and after hours servicing as per Service Foreman arrangements
- Accept responsibility for apprentices/helpers and impart through training/explanation/practice, the necessary skills required to perform the job correctly, and thereafter to inspect /monitor the work and rectify any problems
Qualifications and Experience
- NQF Level 4 (Grade 12 or equivalent) – Maths and Physical Science
- Three-year experience on Daimler Truck & Bus products a must (Mercedes-Benz Trucks or Mercedes-Benz Vans or FUSO)
- Clear Criminal Record
- A Valid Driver’s License C1, EC will be an added advantage
- Diesel Truck Technician Qualification
- Systems Technician or Diagnostic Technician Qualification a must
