    Bookkeeper

    Malander is seeking a dedicated and organised Bookkeeper for our client based in Woodstock, Cape Town. The ideal candidate would need to be based in Cape Town and available to start immediately. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, and payments;
    • Process and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections;
    • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records;
    • Handle payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations;
    • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports;
    • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities;

    Senior Finance Shipping Clerk

    Malander is seeking a talented Senior Finance Shipping Clerk for a client based in Cape Town. The Shipping Clerk forms an integral part of the Shipping team and is responsible for controlling all import documentation per consignment and ensuring correct documentation are sent to the clearing agent for clearance through customs. This role is crucial to the clients' operations, requiring a candidate who can effectively manage high volumes and work under tight deadlines. 

     Key responsibilities:

    • Receive and record shipments upon receipt of import documentation;
    • Monitor and track all incoming shipments to ensure proper documentation and timely supplier payments;
    • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies related to imported goods;
    • Monitor forwarding agents' status reports for all incoming shipments to ensure timely delivery;
    • Process foreign payments using banking platforms;
    • Process and record local payments;
    • Prepare monthly costings;
    • Arrange weekly bookings and check in buyers' samples;
    • Reconcile related monthly general ledger accounts;
    • Journal entries to buyers' expense accounts for purchased samples;
    • File and maintain original shipping documents.

    Qualifications:

    • Matric;
    • Appropriate qualification supporting the role.

    Experience and Knowledge:

    • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role;
    • Shipping finance experience;
    • Knowledge and understanding of import documentation and procedures;
