    ICU Education Fellow

    About The Role
    Clinical Duties

    • The appointee who is undertaking the Transitional Year of the CICM training will initially work on the Senior registrar roster. Over the course of the year, they will gradually progress under supervision and be given more responsibility. Towards the end of the year, if progress is satisfactory, they will work on the consultant roster under supervision. Progression of responsibility and level of supervision will be dependent on satisfactory performance.
    • The appointee who is not undertaking the Transitional Year of the CICM training will work on the registrar roster and be provided with supervision suitable for their level of training.
    • Provision of inpatient care including:
    1. Assessing patients, determining, and instigating appropriate investigations
    2. Establish management plan for patients in consultation with the consultant
    3. Where appropriate, ensuring that discharge planning commences early in the process of care
    4. Communicating assessment findings, proposed management plans and alternatives to patient and carers and seek consent
    5. Gathering input from appropriate multidisciplinary team for patients ongoing clinical care
    6. Continually monitoring and reviewing patient progress and adjusting the management plan when necessary
    7. Ensuring appropriate and timely communication to health care providers and carers to ensure ongoing patient care post-hospital stay.

    Fellow (Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery)

    About The Role

    • Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
    • Lead and manage staff by fostering and committing to patient safety and quality in the delivery of health care by maintaining and evaluating safety and quality practices and initiatives.
    • To provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals provide inpatient
    • and outpatient care by assessing patients, determining and instigating appropriate investigation
    • Establish management plan for patients in consultation with the consultant
    • Where appropriate, ensure discharge planning commences early in the process of care
    • Communicate assessment findings, proposed management plans and alternatives to patient and carers and seek consent
    • Gather input from appropriate multidisciplinary team for patient's ongoing clinical care

    Fellow (Skull Base Surgery)

    About The Role

    • Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
    • Lead and manage staff by fostering and committing to patient safety and quality in the delivery of health care by maintaining and evaluating safety and quality practices and initiatives.
    • To research required in the assessment of patients with skull base/head and neck cancer within Australia Hospital System.
    • To research surgical techniques including resections and reconstruction in skull base within the Australian Hospital System.
    • To teach Fellow Registrars and Junior Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals on the subject of skull base.
    • To develop and participate in research in the clinical and laboratory situations.
    • To provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals
    • Conduct ward rounds to oversee all patients in care and to make appropriate decisions regarding on going patient care
