    Business Developer

    Job Summary:

    • The main purpose of this role is to identify and pursue opportunities to develop, expand and enhance the Mukuru Wallet and VAS business.  
    • The Business Developer reports directly to the Head of Wallet and VAS. They are responsible for developing a strategic plan to expand the Wallet and VAS business. 
    • This position is responsible for identifying ways in which the Wallet and VAS business can be more competitive, productive and efficient.  A key aspect of this role is to grow the business by driving scale as well as expanding product offerings to existing and new markets.
    • Internal Liaison takes place across internal departments. External liaison takes place with potential partners, regulators and service providers.

     

    Duties and responsibilities (includes but is not limited to the following):

    • To drive market penetration, market development, product development as well as diversification of the Wallet and VAS business
    • To develop new business opportunities to expand the Wallet and VAS business
    • Identify opportunities to expand product and services range offered
    • Research all options for VAS products and partnerships in the specific country or region
    • Ensure opportunities are strategically and legally viable
    • Establish cost of different opportunities
    • Identify feasible options and draft proposals
    • Establish a base of contacts in order to develop prospects and leads with various potential partners
    • Negotiate with potential partners in order to obtain mutually beneficial signed contracts
    • To negotiate and close new partnerships
    • To oversee the successful implementation of plans in conjunction with other departments
    • To understand the market dynamics to enable decision making
    • Keep abreast the current future market trends and industry changes
    • Identify competitors and keep up to date on their business models (e.g. suppliers, platforms, pricing, product offerings, customer retention strategies, etc)
    • To manage own professional and self-development

     

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
    • Related Tertiary Qualification in Commerce or similar (Essential)
    • 2- 4 years’ experience as a Business Developer (Essential)
    • Experience in a financial services or similar industry would be highly advantageous
    • Knowledge of payments and remittances
    • Knowledge of business-to-business sales and proposal writing
    • Knowledge of contracts and commercial agreements
    • Knowledge of operating license requirements

    Corridor Champion Lesotho

    Role Purpose:

    • The purpose of this position is to oversee all the salespeople in their remit, in order to grow the Mukuru customer base, the conversion rate and the transactional volume in a specific corridor.
    • The Corridor Champ reports directly to the Sales Development Manager
    • This position is responsible for ensuring that the entire corridor has all the required resources in order to promote Mukuru services, sign up new customers, increase conversions and overall transactional volume. The Corridor Champ is responsible and accountable for the overall effective functioning of the Sales teams in all areas and regions of that corridor. They are also responsible for monitoring the performance and targets of the corridor, managing their costs and achieving budgets.
    • Liaison takes place with Marketing, new Agents and Agent Support Consultants. External liaison takes place with customers.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities (includes but is not limited to):

    • To oversee the sales and targets in assigned corridor to ensure the customer base grows
    • Motivate team in order to work towards sales targets
    • To ensure effective cost management within corridor
    • Quantify money value requests against activities
    • Compile quarterly budget report
    • Track own revenue against budgeted targets on a monthly basis
    • To develop awareness of the Mukuru brand and services
    • Ensure sufficient stock of flyers and pamphlets are available for the corridor at all times
    • Establish ways to increase the awareness of the Mukuru brand and the services offered
    • Adhere to marketing calendar promotions, as well as additional carry out additional promotions throughout the year
    • Always ensure professional appearance of self and team, in compliance with Mukuru brand and CI
    • To increase amount of conversions per month as well as the total amount of money remitted to corridor per month
    • Ensure that service providers are kept up to date on the latest Mukuru offerings, AML ruling, exchange control procedures and rules and regulations
    • Propose innovative and creative ideas to sales managers
    • Identify ways to grow the base and submit weekly report
    • Conduct analysis from data on Power BI to identify trends
    • To create and submit weekly reports
    • Monitor all sales activities in the corridor and report on all relevant information
    • Conduct competitor and market analysis and provide monthly reports
    • Carry out and follow the instruction of the Sales Development Manager
    • To conduct general people management functions to ensure the effective running of the corridor
    • Resolve escalated HR and IR issues for all sales staff
    • Ensure staff disciplinary hearings and dismissals are done efficiently and effectively
    • Complete all required documentation and ensure contracts are in place for new staff
    • Provide guidance, empowerment and enable sales staff within corridor
    • Coach and mentor team

     

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 equivalent or equivalent (Essential)
    • Understanding and speaking of sesotho(Desirable)
    • Valid driver’s license/access to transport (Essential)
    • 2 year’s Regional Sales Supervisor experience in a relevant region / corridor (Essential)
    • Knowledge of Mukuru products and services
    • Knowledge of FICA and CPA regulations
    • Knowledge of sales practices in specific corridor

    Pricing Analyst

    The main purpose of the role is to manage the company pricing strategy in order to make accurate pricing adjustments in required corridors.

    The Pricing Analyst reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

    This position is responsible for managing the pricing strategy for the Mukuru Group. They are required to make critical pricing adjustment decisions in different corridors in order to remain competitive and efficient. The Pricing Analyst is also required to develop accurate models in order to analyse and report on BI data in order to justify pricing adjustments. 

    Internal Liaison takes place with the Business Development, Sales and Marketing teams. External liaison takes place with external partners.

    Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

    • To manage the pricing strategy for the Mukuru Group
    • Ensure that pricing across all corridors is in line with the business strategy
    • Liaise with marketing after determining pricing strategies in order to provide marketing strategies
    • Use BI data in order to analyse business pricing structures and identify opportunities to optimize strategies
    • Liaise with business development and sales teams in order to gain additional product and profitability information
    • Create accurate reports on current and proposed pricing strategies
    • Develop a system for comparative pricing data analysis
    • Proactively undertake research on the informal sector to assess pricing structures
    • Ensure the system is accurate and updated at all times
    • Build statistical models to demonstrate the impact of pricing adjustments
    • Demonstrate the full profit and loss impact of pricing changes
    • Support business initiatives through pricing analysis
    • Provide analysis information in order to support business initiatives, projects, and strategies
    • Manage own professional and self-development

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
    • BCom / Finance / statistics related degree (Essential)
    • 5 years’ experience in pricing analysis (Essential)
    • Experience in using BI data / BI Analysis (Essential)
    • Mathematical background (Essential)
    • Knowledge of pricing strategies
    • Knowledge of BI Analysis and reporting
    • Knowledge of financial forecasting
    • Knowledge of money transfer procedures
