    Perway Engineer - Perway Engineering & Design

    The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to

    • Plan and analyse perway systems from conceptual design to detailed design
    • Thorough understanding and application of the appropriate perway technology in designs
    • Thorough understanding of multidisciplinary railway aspects ie. OHTE, signalling, geometric and civil design
    • Prepare perway feasibility reports, technical reports and cost estimates
    • Designing and mentoring younger staff and will be based in Phalaborwa and Jhb
    • Develop the track design capabilities and team, while providing track engineering services to clients.
    • Develop and implement strategies for developing the above mentioned capabilities and generating business opportunities.
    • Good technical understanding of all other (non-track) railway disciplines and interfaces
    • Plan and manage to programme and budgets
    • Identify and manage client requirements
    • Understanding constructability issues associated with railway design and construction
    • Ability to think outside the box, value engineer, and draw on international best practise to improve design solutions
    • Strong problem solving skills

    Qualification and Requirements

    • B.Eng (Civil) or B.Tech (Civil)
    • Registered with ECSA as PrEng or PrTech
    • Knowledge of South African Railway Standards, particularly track design and maintenance related standards
    • Fluent in English, excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Experience

    • 5 years post graduate experience in railway engineering (planning, design, maintenance and construction)
    • Proficiency in the appropriate Civil/Perway Design Software

    Overview

    Our client is seeking to appoint a Payroll Manager to encompasses the effective managing, planning, control and sustainability of Data, Payroll Execution & Org Management. Processes to manage the effective integration of the Payroll and Data processes end to end

    Key Task

    • Operational Delivery - Accountable for managing & controlling the timely & accurate processing of all input documentation.
    • Managing the Process and Service Standards for effective governance within the area of responsibility.
    • Work with PDCI Lead to establish strategic goals and priorities for the Service Delivery functions. 
    • People Management - Interpret, communicate, coach & monitor relevant policies & procedures to employees.
    • Manage & encourage a coaching leadership style
    • Building the organisation through effective and efficient staffing, development and succession planning.
    • Continuous Improvement – Promote an innovative culture within the team, in terms of value creation.
    • Problem Management - Facilitate and participate in the investigations into incidents & non-compliance to processes.
    • Statutory Compliance - Adheres to legislative governance, process & services standards.
    • Financial - Plan, manage & control the appropriate budget formulation & expenditure in accordance with business rule

    • Functional Learning Manager – Receive training service.
    • Cash Management (AS) – Receive advisory information & service on bank management.
    • Quality Management (Reporting, Business Support) – Receive monitoring reports & assistance on technical difficulties experienced in the payroll environment.
    • Direct & Indirect reports: Managerial authority over the team. Advisory support is given to the manager by direct reports.
    • Senior Manager/Manager/Coordinator - HR: Advisory & service on payroll related information.
    • Remuneration Manager(s): Advisory & service on payroll related information.
    • GSS IM Site Manager Applications: Service given to role holder.
    • AS Payroll Recon Manager: Service & advisory role between parties.
    • ABAS: Auditing services received by role.
    • Group Tax

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12 qualification and/or B Comm or Human Resources related qualification will be advantageous  

    Experience

    • 3-5 years’ experience as a Payroll Manager
    • 3-5 years’ experience in remuneration and benefits
    • 3 years of SAP HR proficiency
    • Customer service delivery (would be advantageous)
    • Stakeholder Management relating to external payroll vendors e.g. SARS etc
