    Assistant SCM Practitioner: Bid & Contract Administration (Worcester)

    Duties: 

    • Responsible for the coordination, control and adherence to various legislative frameworks

    Senior Superintendent:: De Doorns & Touwsrivier (Western Cape)

    Duties: 

    • Identifies with the Section’s strategy with respect to service delivery and implements and monitors the short-term plans/objectives for the High, Medium and Low Voltage Electrical services 
    • Evaluating service delivery trends and capacity against requirements to facilitate the preparation of capital and operational expenditure estimates to support plans and objectives 
    • Co-ordinates tasks/activities associated with the implementation of procedures and monitoring and reporting on sequences/outcomes

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Valid ORHVS Certificate,
    • Valid Code EB Drivers’ license,
    • Familiar in switching procedure on 11KV & 66 KV (voltage)

    Engineering Technician (Worcester)

    Duties: 

    • Prioritize work orders according to assets, maintenance category and schedule frequency on Computerized Maintenance Management System
    • Allocate specific meter installation work activities (new installations, condition assessments, upgrades, functional tests) to authorized service providers 
    • Coordinate specific maintenance & installations (new installations, modifications, repair, etc.) activities / tasks as per departmental procedure
    • Perform dedicated / routine quality control inspections on all electrical installations and constructions pertaining to bulk service metering, power quality and embedded generation on reticulation infrastructure and support structures in compliance with SANS 10142 and NRS 057 as per municipal procedure & policies

    • Compile monthly engineering report to immediate superior (on electrical network analytics with the aid of QoS measurement & diagnostic smart grid infrastructure, revenue enhancement audits, credit control disconnections / reconnections, OHS Act safety inspections, etc.  in accordance with legislation) 
    • Interact with interdepartmental and externalstakeholders  e.g. internal and external personnel (government, other municipalities), public, service providers, property owners, developers, etc. on routine and complex issues 
    • Compiling specifications to obtain quotations and tenders via the appropriate procurement processes on instruction from immediate superior 
    • Submitting all completed vehicle log sheets to the immediate superior for authorization 
    • Perform incident investigations as per OHS Act legislation as directed by the immediate superior and prepare remedial action reports for future preventative measures.

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements:

    • A relevant National Diploma in Engineering.
    • Computer literacy: MS Office, Geospatial, Drawing, AMI Software
    • 3 - 5 years’ relevant experience.

    Principal Engineering Technician: Planning & Design (Western Cape)

     Duties: 

    • Coordinate and control the investigation of reported problems experienced with projects 
    • Make provision for preventative solutions where problems with difficult contracts are anticipated 
    • Represent the Electrical Services Department at technical meetings to provide feedback and to obtain information of a varied nature

    • Participating in the appointment process and briefing parties (consultants/ contractors, etc.) on the terms and scope of such appointments and evaluating, investigating, and approving submissions on progress, performance and costs 
    • Developing, implementing, and managing systems and procedures for the monitoring of contracts ensuring that compliance issues are resolved effectively. 

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements:

    • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (NQF 6). 
    • Eligible for registration as a Pr Techni Eng with the Engineering Council of SA in terms of Act 46 of 2000 and must complete required professional registration within eight (8) months period from the date of appointment. 
    • 5 years relevant experience after obtaining the National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (NQF 6)
    • Valid Code B Drivers’ license.
    • Computer literacy (MS Office Applications, CAD & Electrical Designer).

    Senior Electrician (Western Cape)

    Duties: 

    • Providing guidelines and specific instructions to personnel with respect to the preparation of work site for major/ minor works and setting up of traffic signage. Marking routes for the running in and laying of cables and positioning of supporting structures (poles) and providing guidance to personnel on specific activities (e.g. cleaning of conductors, binding and strapping, stripping of individual conductors)

    • Performs specialized tasks such as low voltage cable fault finding, termination and jointing, line stringing and tensioning, low voltage switchgear and transformer maintenance to ensure proper and efficient planned, preventative and emergency maintenance in accordance with the specifications and in compliance with the relevant safety legislation 
    • Engaging controls to operate mechanisms (cherry picker) to facilitate specific sequences (hoisting, overhead repairs and rigging etc.) 
    • Leading and guiding staff 
    • Monitoring attendance /conduct and output and addressing deviations from agreed performance indicators through meetings /counselling and/or other approved methods designed to improve and motivate personnel 
    • Maintaining staff discipline and dealing with disciplinary and grievance interventions timeously, fairly and in terms of established policies and procedures. 
    • Referring to work schedules and registers to correct deviations in entries raised during processing. 
    • Transporting personnel / material and monitoring the off-loading of materials and equipment 
    • Adheres to technical standards and safety legislation by complying with the OHS Act, procedures, policies and guidelines 
    • Monitor that Contractors adhere to Health and Safety regulations in terms of Municipal By-law, policies, procedures and guidelines.

    Requirements

    • Trade Test Certificate (Electrician)
    • 3 years post apprentice experience required

    • Ensure a well-maintained designated vehicle and the accurate capturing of kilometres in accordance with the laid down Procedures, Policies and guidelines. 
    • Adheres to technical standards and safety legislation by complying with procedures, policies instructions and guidelines. 
    • Carry our safety inspections as required by immediate superior.

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements:
