Relevant education and experience required:

• SAP functional experience a must. Config knowledge of any of the following SAP modules: SD,MM,PP,PM,QM,WM
• Relevant post matric qualification (e.g. Btech Finance, BComm, BSc, BEng, MSc, BCa, MCa)
• Minimum of 7 years solid relevant Module/Application experience including:
•  Module Integration and non-SAP Integration essential.
• S/4 HANA experience advantageous or the ability to advise on future S/4 HANA functionality for applicable module(s) where SAP is assigned application.
• Detailed configuration and development experience in relevant modules/applications. 

Some of the duties you would need to carry out if successful for the role:

• Ensure solution enhancement and continuous improvement in area(s) of responsibility.
•  Investigation, design and implementation of appropriate solutions and configuring according to organisation’s strategic goals.
•  Analysis and understanding of existing customised application configuration and development.
• Integration investigation, configuration and specification to on Premise and Cloud Solutions.
•  Perform 3rd and 4th Line User Support where applicable.
• Production defect management and drive to solution
• Complete regular internal system audits and prepare for upgrades.
• Knowledge of business operations are maintained in order to ensure solution development is in alignment with business objectives, best practise and global standards.
• Assist Process & Solution Analyststo identify process improvement opportunities through the use of existing or future technologies.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an SAP DI Consultant, preferably at a financial institution.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP Data Services and other relevant SAP tools.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data quality management.
• Ability to design and implement complex data integration solutions within SAP.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• SAP certifications in Data Integration or related areas are a plus.

Minimum Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Computer/Engineering Sciences and/ or at least 3 years relevant experience as a developer as part of a team in a software development environment.
• A strong knowledge of Java is essential.
• 2-3 years relevant experience as a senior back-end developer in a multi-tiered Java application development.
• Experience in scripting languages is preferred (e.g. JavaScript, Angular, Python/Jython).
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate on a common (UML) design model.
• A thorough understanding of SDLC processes, tools and techniques. 

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

• Experience with team development tools: Use of source control applications (preferably GIT); Use of a UML tool for documentation.

Experience of the following technologies:

• JEE (J2EE) server side technologies, SOAP and Services
• Spring framework (preferable)
• JPA /Hibernate
• Experience with an application server (IBM Websphere – preferable)
• Integration experience (Web/RESTful services, JMS)

• Experience in scripting languages is preferred (e.g., JavaScript, Angular, React)
• Experience with team development tools: Use of source control applications (preferably GIT); Use of a UML and other tools for documentation

• Design and develop data models using dimensional modelling and data vault techniques and ensure stated business requirements are met by these models.  
• Architect, train, validate and test advanced analytics / machine learning models, using enterprise-grade software engineering practices.
