    Regional Sales Manager – East Africa

    Key Responsibilities: (What are the top 4 focus areas of the job, Safety First is required)

    • Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
    •  Adhere to all Safety Health Environment (SHE) and housekeeping requirements at the branch and customer sites at all times.
    •  Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times. Keep contract packs up to date.
    • Identify, target and successfully tender on new projects and enquiries ensuring strategic and financial objectives are achieved
    • Development and achievement of an annual budget (in line with strategic plan) and monthly reporting on key result areas including a comprehensive month end report detailing the EA performance against KPI’s
    • Development and implementation of a successful after-market strategy ensuring profitable repeat business from existing and new customer base across EA
    • Pro-actively target and successfully convert competitor’s customers to Weir product offerings
    • Effectively manage customer expectations and successfully negotiate commercial outcomes consistent with achievement of strategic and financial objectives
    • Frequent travel to develop new and enhance existing customer relationships by providing value adding services to customers
    • Evaluation, appointment and continued assessment of Weir Agents/Distributors, where appropriate
    • Ensure adherence to all SHE and housekeeping requirements in region are met
    • Adhere to and ensure relevant SOP’s and work instructions are adhered to
    • Effectively manage regional staff

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor's degree with five to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • CRM experience will be advantageous
    • Technical understanding of our product applications
    • Valid Driver’s license
    • Valid passport and work permit if required

    Regional Comminution Head of Process EMEA - JHB

    Main Accountabilities

    • Accountable for performance guarantees within complex supplies
    • Accountable for regional comminution process capabilities development
    • Shared responsibility for comminution orders intake and opportunity conversions

    Cross-Functional Engagement

    • Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Product Management) and maintain cooperation with Venlo Sustainable Center.
    • Communicate process design strategies, collaborate with external partners (EPCs, laboratories, suppliers, consultants), and provide technical input for team projects.

    Complex Bids and Sales Support

    • Engage in customer-facing activities, cultivating relationships and identifying opportunities through intensive visits.
    • Effectively manage the technical aspects of projects, ensuring cost and lead time control, and collaborate with sales/customers in solution co-creation.

    Team Management

    • Lead the EMEA regional comminution process team, fostering an effective teamwork environment.
    • Ensure the team achieves key performance indicators and departmental objectives, assigning staff according to operating plans and promoting a culture of safety and development.

    Service Provision

    • Implement key strategies, including early engagement, lifecycle partnerships, prioritization, and focus, encompassing plant audits, brownfield optimizations, customer centricity, and mill circuit innovation.
    • Contribute to proposal efforts through developing concepts, designing and optimizing comminution circuits, providing performance guarantees, and overseeing the technical execution of complex projects.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Hold a Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mineral Processing with expertise in mineral processes design and optimization.
    • Possess prior experience in the Mining Industry and a track record in similar management/leadership roles, focusing on team development.
    • Demonstrate a strong balance of technical and commercial background.
    • Showcase experience in selling solutions internationally and effectively managing multicultural teams.
    • Expertise in business and customer relationship development, along with adept team management and people development skills.
    • Deep knowledge in iron, gold, copper, and polymetallic recovery processes, including comminution circuits design and optimization.
    • Possess strong technical proficiency in mineral processing and equipment, coupled with project management tools and excellent customer-facing, presentation, and negotiation abilities.

    Director: Sales - Johannesburg

    Key Responsibilities: 

    • Sales Focused: Strategic planning and design of the territory’s sales strategy, along with the successful communication and delivery of the strategy. New business development. Guide and direct sales activity across the territory to support delivery against KPI’s and targets.
    • People Leadership: Effectively manage direct reports and provide leadership and management while supporting the development, growth and upskilling of sales teams. Positioning the company’s sales resources and technical capability accordingly and in line with emerging business opportunities.
    • Customer Focused: Effectively manage customer expectations and successfully negotiate commercial outcomes consistent with achievement of strategic and financial objectives.
    • Financial Management: Ensure new business development, negotiations and commercial contracts are in line with proposed budgeted growth. Develop and achieve annual budget (in line with strategic plan ) and report monthly on key result areas. Setting revenue targets for the territory and setting key performance indicators as well as taking responsibility for sales forecasting.
    • Sustainability: Formulating and implementation of interventions to deliver sustained performance in terms of securing tenders and new business opportunities. Driving and promoting process optimization opportunities in the territory.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: 

    • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree. MBA is preferred.
    • French Speaking is preferred.
    • 10 years senior management experience, 5 of which should be in the mining and engineering industry serving core markets.
    • Excellent oral, written persuasive communication and presentation skills
    • Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development
    • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers
    • Strong and confident negotiator
    • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
    • Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities
    • Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
