    Software Development Engineer - EC2 Console

    DESCRIPTION

    • The EC2 Visual Platform team is responsible for the EC2 Console Web Interface which is used by customers to manage all aspects of their Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances. The major focus of the team is to streamline the user experience for customers managing small to very large pools of resources. Engineers in our teams have a strong sense of ownership and drive to innovate and have a resounding impact in how we develop and deliver software at such a large scale.
    • As an experienced engineer in this team, you will play an active role in developing high quality software designs & solutions to complex problems to deliver great front end user experiences to customers. You are consistently successful at working autonomously and in delivering software. You work with your team to invent, design and build software that is stable and performant. You write code that is easy to understand and your solutions are pragmatic. You regularly evaluate and improve your teams internal development processes.
    • As an Amazonian, you’ll enjoy interacting with some of the talented engineers in our industry through breakfast talks and demos, internal communities and extensive training material that span all aspects of our business.     BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent working experience
    • 3+ years of industry experience in a software development environment
    • Strong Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, object-oriented design, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
    • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Java, C#, Python, Javascript, Scala, Kotlin

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals
    • Expertise in delivering high-quality, innovative applications
    • Strong analytical skills with excellent problem solving abilities.
    • Strong desire to build, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
    • Excellent written communication and verbal agility are strong assets.
    • Working knowledge of one or more Javascript frameworks e.g. JQuery, React
    • Deep understanding of the web technologies including HTTP, HTML, CSS, Javascript
    • Designing and implementing for a visually impaired users
    • Utilize user interface design patterns to solve business problems with highly accessible and usable web applications.
    • Working knowledge of relational databases and back-end programming
    • Working knowledge of AWS products and technologies
    • Between 2 and 5 years of practical experience building production web applications

    Sr. HR Business Partner

    Key Responsibilities

    • Own and manage the relationships with several client group business leaders
    • Develop and own the delivery of the strategic HR plan for each business supported and ensure consistency with local and global HR goals & enforce consistency with our policies & procedures;
    • Act as a consultant to your client groups and provide input on the HR implications of strategic and operational decisions and plans, acting as an integral member of each group’s management team;

    Basic Qualifications

    • 7+ years of experience in an HR Business Partner role
    • University degree or MBA preferred
    • Generalist HR experience including policy writing, solid exposure to Industrial Relations / Labour Relations including mitigating and resolving labour disputes
    • Proven ability to diagnose problems using strategic thinking skills as well as identify and drive appropriate solutions
    • Strong Project/Program Management Skills

    Engineering Operations Technician

    The Successful Candidate Will Be Accountable For

    • Setting and maintaining the highest standards for safety and actively promoting a world-class safety culture in all aspects of operational procedure

    • Draft, update & maintain method statements, standard operating procedures, emergency response procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and all technical documentation pertaining to DCEO

    Basic Qualifications

    • Good verbal and written English communication skills
    • Apprentice/trades certified or diploma in an Electrical field
    • Demonstrate key electrical competencies (Practice & Theory)
    • Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls)
    • Ability to draft accurate support procedures in English, system documentation, and issue tracking entries
    • Ability to take full ownership of technical issues
    • Willing to travel between Data center sites, and internationally if required
    • Solid IT skills; experience and knowledge of MS Office suite.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 3+ years of experience in operations and on-call support for Data Center facilities / or Mission Critical Plants/ Production facilities
    • An undergraduate degree in a technical field (EE, MechE, IndustrialE);
    • Project Management experience

    Physical Requirements

    • Must be able to work a full 12hr shift, rotating between working days and nights, as per the prescribed company shift pattern.
    • Work at heights and from ladders.
    • Be comfortable operating a mobile elevated working platform (MEWP).
    • Perform physical tasks during the shift.
    • Work in a noisy environment with ear protection.
