    Specialist: BBBEE - Durban

    Position Purpose:

    • To assist in ensuring of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE), Enterprise Development, Preferential Procurement, Local Supplier Development strategy aligned to Broader national policy regulatory framework. To liaise with Supply Chain Community across Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) to ensure there is consistent implementation, monitoring and reporting of BBBEE. To assist in Training initiative for BBBEE policies and procedures to drive compliance within TPT.

    Position outputs:

    • To develop, manage and implement BBBEE strategies within Transnet Port Terminals.
    • Conduct market research and analysis to support Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE), Enterprise
    • Development, Preferential Procurement and Local Supplier Development (LSD) opportunity identification with strategic suppliers
    • Monitoring of BBBEE improvement plan and attend SLA meetings with sourcing specialists
    • Support Supplier Development training initiatives within TPT; and
    • Support commodity-specific initiatives in respect of BBBEE.
    • Collate information and compile reports on BBBEE activities within TPT
    • Manage BBBEE scorecard and Transformation
    • Manage ED programmes and initiatives.
    • Monitoring and Reporting BBBEE spend
    • Manage Supplier Database
    • Compile MANCO report on BBBEE matters.

    Years of Experience with a formal qualification:

    • Bachelor’s degree (legal or commercial) is required
    • Min 5 years’ relevant experience in a supply management function or BEE strategy development and in a large enterprise of which at least 2 years at managerial level or specialist experience

    Knowledge

    • Sound knowledge of Public Sector Supply Management legislation and regulations;
    • In-depth knowledge of all BBBEE legislation and Regulations that affect procurement spend including but not limited to the DTI Codes of good practice;
    • In-depth understanding of BEE and SMME lanscape in SA;
    • Thorough understanding of the DTI Scorecard and its impact upon the business;
    • Working knowledge of Supply Management processes and systems;
    • Understanding of technical and operational requirements of a business including capital requirements.

    Young Professional (Regulatory & Compliance) - Johannesburg

    Position Purpose:

    • The incumbent should have the capacity to coordinate efforts to reposition the regulatory compliance function within the Corporate Affairs department. This entails the ability to embed accountability for assignments and activities related to regulatory compliance risks.     Compliance Specialist: Assurance.2 - Durban

    Position Purpose:

    • To provide support to the Divisional Compliance Champion to assist TPT management in discharging their responsibility to comply with applicable statutory, regulatory and supervisory requirements, enabling TPT to demonstrate to regulatory authorities that it is fit and proper to undertake its business. To perform all the required statutory monitoring within Group Compliance. To provide assurance, through compliance monitoring that the compliance framework within TPT is comprehensive and robust. Findings and recommendations to be reported to the TPT Executive Committee, TPT Risk Committee. Ensure that compliance processes, structures policies, procedures are developed, embedded and maintained, and that there is a clear compliance culture adopted by TPT.

    Position outputs:

    • Responsible for implementation of all compliance monitoring duties/activities.
    • Schedule and plan compliance monitoring on specified areas on the basis of the compliance monitoring plan and issues arising in order to monitor TPT’s compliance with procedures, regulatory and statutory requirements/obligations.
    • Investigate compliance issues and regulatory matters arising.
    • Formally raise and report on issues of non-compliance.
    • Make recommendation on corrective actions.
