    Accountant - Statutory & Reporting

    The Person

    We are looking for an experienced Accountant to manage the reporting and statutory financial function of Otraco and ensure capital and resources are utilised optimally. This role will ultimately be responsible for maintaining the business financial compliance objectives. The Accountant: Reporting & Statutory will support the Head of Finance in achieving Company’s targets, always ensuring that all relevant financial and regulatory requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner, as well as business guidelines and regulations.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Essential:

    • Grade 12 National Certificate
    • Appropriate BCom degree or equivalent degree

    Technician - Brits

    Job purpose

    • To assist in ensuring plant availability and uptime by attending to equipment breakdown. Initiate and manage continuous improvement projects.
    • To perform various skilled, journey-level tasks in installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electronic control systems and electrical systems. Electrical Technicians modify electrical prototypes in order to correct operational deviations under the general direction of an Electrical Engineer.

    Job Purpose

    Manages the Progressive Maintenance (PM) process in the cell and is responsible for the elimination of losses related to inspections and failures; It constantly improves the following processes:

    Maintenance Planning & Scheduling (MP&S), Breakdown Elimination (BDE), contributing to the elimination of losses related to inspections and failures.

    Responsible for preparing a list of spare parts needed in the cell, supports activities optimizing the management of these parts.

    Contributes to the reduction of maintenance costs on machines in the cell.

    Responsible for disseminating technical knowledge among operators and, together with the Maintenance Leader in the area, for coordinating work related to Maintenance activities on machines in the cell.

    Responsibilities:

    Downtime Elimination (BDE) Management

    • Conducts in-depth analysis of failures and implements defined countermeasures
    • Responsible for the implementation of the failure data collection system

    Management of the Maintenance Planning Process (MP&S) Continuous Machine Improvements.

    • Owns Maintenance Planning and Scheduling process of the machines, establishes PMs with the central Maintenance and Planning Department and the head of production area.
    • Planning the execution of maintenance actions in the short, medium and long term
    • Creating and updating review standards

    Improving the technical knowledge of operators

    • Training operators in the principles of operation of individual machine elements in order to improve their knowledge and skills to detect defects

    Instrumentation Technician - Brits

    Job Purpose 

    To manage and ensure execution of all instrumentation activities which includes calibration, maintenance activities through artisans, operations and service providers. To manage all line and services availability, safety adherence and maintenance budget.

    Main responsibilities

    • Effectively delegate any maintenance issues to be resolved on all shifts and execute small and improvement projects.
    • Must ensure that all Instruments on machines are available for maximum production.

    • Experience in PLC and HMI /SCADA  programming.
    • Setting up of Industrial IT networking (Device Net and Ethernet/IP) experience
    • Competence in instrumentation used in highly automated plants including  Boilers and auxiliary equipment
    • Should exhibit competence in Flow, Temperature ,Level ,Pressure ,Weight Control systems
    • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, provide support and recommendations for new and existing

    The person must be able to work under supervision, appreciate their role in delivering customer service, possess common sense and initiative, demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop their tyre fitting skills and knowledge.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Essential 

    •  A valid and appropriate light vehicle driver’s licence (South African Code 08).
    •  Grade 12 National Certificate

    Preferred:

    •  A valid and appropriate heavy vehicle drivers licence (South African Code 10).
    •  Grade 12 National certificate with maths and science.

    Reports to Line manager

    Duties

    • The following is a general list of tasks that a Tyre Serviceman is required to perform. The Company may add to or vary these duties from time to time provided the variation is reasonable having regard to the Employee’s skills, competence and training.
    •  Comply with Otraco Southern Africa’s policies procedures and instructions,
    •  Comply with client policies, procedures and instructions.
    •  Accurately record tyre change or other information and file or forward the information as required,
    •  Perform equipment checks and calibrations according to procedures, • Fit and remove wheels from any type of vehicle according to procedures,
    •  Mount and strip any type of tyre and rim assembly according to procedures,
    •  Perform repairs to tyres and tubes according to procedures,
    •  Operate forklifts and tyre handlers according to procedures
    •  Clean, paint and crack test rim components,
    •  Perform Inspections and determine the suitability of wheel components to remain in service,
    •  Maintain tyre operating pressures in accordance with site specifications,
    •  Maintain a high quality of service to the client,
    •  Present himself in a condition fit to perform his duties,
    •  Complete any other duties allocated

    Safety

    •  Work safely and follow Occupational Health and Safety Procedures,
    •  Comply with site “lock out” / “tag out” procedures,
    •  Report hazards, unsafe work conditions and equipment,
    •  Immediately report incidents and injuries to the supervisor,
    •  Comply with applicable instructions as per on-site Safety Plan,
    •  Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment according to procedures,
    •  Perform vehicle Pre-start checks according to procedures.
    •  Operate and maintain tools and equipment according to procedures,
    •  Contribute to meetings and inspections in order to improve safety in the workplace,
    •  Perform Risk Assessments and take control actions to reduce the risk of Injury or damage to equipment,
    •  Perform Planned Task Observations and report deviations. Ensure corrective actions are performed,
    •  Comply with site emergency evacuation procedures,
    •  Comply with all safe work procedures and document on completion.

    Indication of Achievement

    •  Maintain health, safety and housekeeping within the internal environment,
    •  Ensures all work procedures are carried out in accordance with safety standards and safety practices,
    •  Demonstrate an awareness of customer care, • Demonstrate knowledge of use and care of PPE,
    •  Achieve all fundamental unit standards • Achieve all core unit standards
    •  Achieve elected elective unit standards which include the following: This will be based on what section you will work in’  Compulsory elective
      •  ID 12213: Select and use automobile lifting equipment, Level 2, 3 credits.
      •  ID 9868: Demonstrate knowledge of, and rectify faults in, motor vehicle tyres and wheels, Level 3, 7 credits.
      •  ID 9867: Remove and replace wheels and tyres, and balance wheels, Level 2, 2 credits.
      •  ID 9869: Repair punctures and fit tyres to wheels, Level 3, 9 credits. • Additional electives
      •  ID 9864: Repair and replace light and heavy commercial vehicle tyres, Level 3, 17 credits.
      •  ID 9865: Remove and replace wheels and tyres from industrial machines and equipment, Level 3, 10 credits.
      • ID 256176: Remove and replace off-the-road (OTR) wheels and tyres, Level 2, 8 credits.
    •  Complete additional in-house training as required,
    •  Complete additional external training as required,
    •  Complete compulsory and additional site specific trainin
