PURPOSE OF THE POSITION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The purpose of this position is to assist members (clients) with legal advice and paralegal solutions to common problems within the parameters set by the Company and the Scorpion Legal Protection Membership Agreement.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Consulting with Members
- Attending to clients and providing legal advice and assistance via telephone consultation
Customer Relation Service
- Engaging customers with complex matters
Time Management
- Attending to queries within a reasonable time frame
Liaison with Attorneys/Claims Dept.
- Attend to appoint attorneys to represent clients on legal matters
Providing Feedback to Clients
- Ensuring that clients receive regular updates and feedback on existing matters
Job Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS
- Education Must have Matric (Grade 12); and Must have completed legal degree (LLB or B Proc, B Juris, BLC or B Com/BA Law)
Experience
- At least two (2) years’ legal experience. Practice experience advantageous.
- Customer service experience (must).
- Experience in handling Labour and Court Process matters (must).
Other
- Knowledge of the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and Consumer Protection Act.
- Must be computer literate; specifically proficient in MS Word and Outlook.
- Must be proficient in at least 3 Official Languages including IsiZulu and IsiXhosa.
General working conditions
- Regular office environment and no health and safety risks involved.
- No travel involved.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The purpose of this position is to effectively manage the relationship between the Company and its panel attorneys, both current and prospective, ensuring a mutually beneficial partnership while addressing members’ needs as per the Scorpion Legal Protection Membership Agreement.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Relationship Management Manage the relationship between SLP and panel attorneys, visit attorneys, arrange conferences and meetings with attorneys for payment queries.
- Liaison with Attorneys and Clients Dealing with and minimising complaints between members, attorneys and SLP
- Ensure that payment and other queries are resolved
- Administration and Reporting Handle administrative duties, maintain the attorney database,
- Generating weekly and bi-weekly reports on Qliksense for ongoing projects
- Developing and monitoring project plans for all claims initiatives
- Report on the status of current projects and attorney relations.
- Claims Projects Plan, lead, and manage all aspects of claims-related projects, including the Cession Project, Legacy Claims Project, and Workflow Project.
- Claims handling and member feedback Attend to claims handling and member feedback of civil, criminal and/or labour claims when required.
- Liaise with Attorneys on claim files.
- Provide feedback to members on claims.
- Attend to all aspects of claims handling, including but not limited to confirmation of cover, repudiations, processing of payments, finalising of claims, etc.
Job Requirements

- Admitted Attorney (essential)
Experience
- At least 2 – 3 year’s legal experience. Practice experience advantageous.
Other
- Must be computer literate; specifically proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
General working conditions
- Regular office environment and no health and safety risks involved.
- Occasional local and national travel involved.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Answering, Screening and Transferring Calls
- Answer incoming calls in a professional manner
- Verify member`s details on pinnacle
- Confirm and update member`s details on pinnacle
- Screen and transfer calls to correct departments
- Create call backs on pinnacle for staff that are not available to answer calls
- Where call backs are not applicable, eg caller wants to join Scorpion, take messages and email them to the relevant person/department
- Report telephone / Queue metrics technical faults to the manager
- Assist with Adhoc duties
- General office administration duties

- Post matric experience and qualification in office administration advantageous
