Job Description

• Data Governance has grown significantly in prominence in the data industry.  For Rank, operating in a heavily regulated industry,  this has always been the case.  That is why this role has been created, to ensure this new project has the right level of governance and control to succeed in the project delivery and it’s on-going operation. Data Governance really is the cornerstone for the data strategy at Rank Group.  
• As the Data Governance Lead you will embed work with the NextGen project team, engineers, architects and testers as well as the Data Team, to ensure the project delivers the business’ data, as it is needed. 
• You'll be pivotal in ensuring that data delivers value to the business, a corporate focus is needed on data quality, data management principles, policies and procedures, standards and definitions, along with pragmatic action oriented working groups.  

Data Requirements Oversight: 

• Working with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and liaising with the NextGen project team to ensure these needs are met. 
• Liaising with the Data Team architecture, engineering and governance leads to ensure the right data is presented to the right place at the right time 

Data Standardisation: 

• Based on input from the Data Team and stakeholders, you will define the standard data models, elements and definitions that will be deployed across NextGen’s decentralised data environments. 
• Working the project engineers and architects you will define the appropriate data models to ensure that the right data is presented to Rank’s Central Data Platform 

Metadata Management: 

• Oversee the creation and maintenance of metadata repositories to document data lineage, definitions, and classifications. 
• Facilitate the adoption of metadata standards across the NextGen project. 

Data Stewardship: 

• Work with business units to define data ownership and stewardship responsibilities. 
• Provide guidance and support to data stewards in resolving data-related issues and ensuring compliance with data governance policies. 

Data Definition and Cataloguing: 

• Documenting the data standards, lineage, definitions and business context behind the data created in the NextGen project 
• Capturing this data in Rank’s Data Catalogue and working with the Data Team to ensure data quality rules are built in the Data Quality tool. 

Data Governance Reporting: 

• Provide regular communication with the Head of Data Governance to ensure appropriate progress is made and the project remains on track 
• Liaising with the Data Governance Council to ensure the business is aware of progress/ challenges 

Change Management: 

• Support change management efforts related to the adoption of data governance practices. 
• Engage with stakeholders to address concerns and promote a data-centric culture. 

Qualifications
What’s needed for success – Experience & Qualifications: 

• Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to communicate with senior stakeholder management 
• A Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate if and where issues are identified 
• A passion for data and doing the right things the right way 
• A data background (c. 5 years +), ideally in data governance or an architecture role 
• An understanding of data modelling 
• The ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight timelines

Job Description

• This is an independent role and requires the individual to be self-motivated, energetic, and comfortable in a faced-paced environment. You will work closely with business stakeholders, product, and technical teams.  The ability to create strong working relationships with diverse groups of individuals will be paramount to success in the role. 
• We feel that this role is crucial in ensuring seamless integration between game providers and our platform, improving operational efficiency and enhancing the end-user experience. 

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities 

API and 3rd Party Integrations: 

• Define and document API integration workflows. 
• Review API documentation and proactively ask clarifying questions to ensure comprehensive and clear requirements. 
• Support UAT by reviewing test cases and validating that business needs are met. 
• Support BAT by capturing business feedback and answering questions  
• Developing a broad understanding of the environment and a deeper knowledge across an agreed subset to act as a Subject Matter Expert 

Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication: 

• Building strong working relationships and earning the trust of game providers, your team and other stakeholders 
• Collaborating with project sponsors to determine initial scope and vision 
• Collaborating with the product and technical teams to bridge the gap between their areas and ensure that technical requirements are as detailed as possible to save the development squad time and effort 

Business Analysis and Requirements Management: 

• Provide business process design and documentation expertise, leveraging best practices from prior experience. 
• Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements, distilling them into detailed epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria. 
• Provide stakeholders with accurate and measurable estimates for business analysis deliverables when required. 

Domain Expertise and Continuous Improvement: 

• Develop a broad understanding of the squads environment and specialized knowledge within a designated subset to serve as a Subject Matter Expert in time. 
• Contribute to the organization's transition towards a scaled agile methodology, actively pursuing continuous improvement in delivery approaches. 

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate should possess a relevant IT-related qualification, such as a degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field.  
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML - essential 
• Industry-recognized certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), PMI-PBA (PMI Professional in Business Analysis), or IIBA ECBA/CCBA would be an added advantage 
• 5+ Years of experience in delivering external integrations or similar with a proven track record of delivery in this area 
• Experience of agile methodologies, with frequent deliveries in a fast-paced environment 
• Experience in working with distributed teams 
• Experience of working in a multi-channel digital and retail organisation   
• Gaming industry experience – an advantage 
• AWS experience – an advantage 
• JIRA & Confluence experience – an advantage 
• Dynamics 365 experience or implementation - an advantage 
• Technology development background - an advantage

Responsibilities:

This is a manual testing role and your key responsibilities and accountabilities include:

• Lead all aspects of quality assurance, including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new techniques to ensure quality goals on assigned projects.
• Participate in requirements walkthroughs and product design sessions, providing input on potential issues and developing comprehensive test plans.
• Create and execute manual test scripts using Test Management tools (e.g., X-Ray), perform test execution, and manage defects according to commitments.
• Contribute to continual QA process improvement efforts, including reviewing and refining existing Testing/QA processes, controls, and best practices.
• Prepare and present realistic time estimations for testing activities, provide regular test status updates, and attend project-related meetings and demos.
• Work with Software Developers to identify automation candidates and understand automation coverage in projects.
• Mentor junior team members, guiding them in following QA best practices and fostering a culture of quality within the organization.
• Demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and BAU requests while maintaining attention to detail and strong time management skills.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in testing
• Proficiency in BDD and gherkin syntax; knowledge of TDD is advantageous
• Experience with API testing and understanding of testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Charles Proxy, Git, JMeter)
• Basic programming knowledge and ability to write informative test cases
• ISTQB or other software testing certifications preferred
• Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to build QA dashboards and metrics
• Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and methodologies

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience in web development
• Strong Java experience (Java 17 & 21 preferred)

• A bonus if you have experience with event-driven systems, AWS, or the betting/financial sector
• Excellent background on Agile methodologies (Scrum, eXtreme Programing, Kanban, Lean);
