PURPOSE:

• Provide a confidential, effective and professional service to the Director and Project Team
• Assist the Project Director and the Project Team to guarantee time efficiency, communication and organization.
• Provide support on any specific subjects linked to the activities of the department.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

• Liaising with project team on a regular basis to obtain various information for the Project Director/s
• Compiling reports for Project reviews
• Arranging meetings – including room bookings, equipment, refreshments, etc
• Customer liaison – build up relationships with the customers at all levels and become a reliable point of contact for them
• Manage the office – reception of visitors, room allocation, post, invoices, lunches etc
• Managing and recording annual leave, birthdays of Project team
• Travel arrangements and coordination of  flights/hotel bookings/visa/advances
• Manage expenses sheets in the e-tools (team support)
• Diary management for the team
• Prepare agendas for the meetings, write minutes
• Provide support in making PowerPoint presentations
• Provide the necessary support to new comers in the team
• Fully manage and launch PR/PO process via SAP/GSI

• Nigel Site, with some travel and/or missions (internal and external)

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Degree level or Equivalent
• IT skills – competent user of Word, Excel packages, Email, Internet. Good command of software (word, excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and computer – advanced level
• Company’s intranet travel bookings (CWT)
• Shorthand and Typing
• Senior Secretary course

• You'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our facility systems and infrastructure. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Supply Chain, Production, and Quality), oversee the performance of facility contractors, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
• You’ll specifically take care of maintaining and monitoring facility systems, as well as supporting improvement and refurbishment projects, but also ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

• Performing planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Ensuring maximum availability and reliability of production equipment, utilities, and facility systems.
• Conducting root cause analysis on equipment failures and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintaining and monitoring facility utility systems, including electrical distribution and compressed air systems.
• Supervising contractors to ensure safety, compliance, and quality workmanship.
• Proposing and supporting energy-saving and cost-reduction projects involving utilities and services.

• Trade Qualification as a Millwright.

• Knowledge of installation rules and regulations (SANS 10142).

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

• Commit with the Manufacturing targets given by the EPU Manager & Line Manager.
• Comply with the EHS standards, ethics and compliance rules, the operational targets are based on Quality, Adherence with planning and time spent on the products.

• INTERNAL - Line Managers, Warehousing, Testing Technicians (PME), Process and manufacturing Engineering staff, Procurement, Industrial Quality team, other Shift Supervisors, Continuous Improvement, other Testing Operators.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES :

ACCOUNTABILITIES & AUTHORITIES:

• Prepare and operate all CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
• Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading procedures and work instructions, mechanical drawings etc.
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
• Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
• Setting up machines to start a Machining cycle
• Selection of the correct tool for the operation
• Perform 1st level Maintenance as per work instruction.
• Perform Zeis and 3D arm measurements on components.

 ACTIVITIES

• To use work-order from the workshop network (to follow activity, to input activity data),
• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a Machining cycle
• Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results
• Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
• Fix issues that might occur during the shift
• Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
• Perform Level maintenance on the machine
• To be an active participant to transversal action in continues improvement process as, APSYS, SWIP, 5S, Team 5 min meeting.
• Perform dimensional measurement of machined subassemblies or finished ALSTOM products according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and CMM methods. + 3D Arm and ZEIS.
• Record measurement results and data in the industrial digital tools as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• CNC/Turning certificate
• Turner machining(red seal) Advantage

EXPERIENCE:

• CNC Milling experience essential
• Understanding of Fanuc programs
• Proven experience as CNC operator
• Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
