    Waiter/Barman

    Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Changing table linen as required and ensuring dirty or damaged linen is counted and exchanged for clean, usable items.
    • Cleaning and refilling cruet and condiment sets.
    • Setting tables to laid-down standards, ensuring that all items used are clean, undamaged and in a good state of repair.
    • Maintain designated areas to meet required hygiene standards
    • Have thorough knowledge of all menu items to confidently recommend or explain options to residents.
    • Serving food and beverages in accordance with laid-down standards, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
    • Practicing excellent customer relations at all times, accommodating resident needs without inconveniencing other guests.
    • Handling customer complaints effectively and reporting all complaints to the manager.
    • Assisting with daily, weekly and monthly stock audits, reporting variances or breakages to your manager.
    • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
    • Ensuring accurate billing of orders and reporting any errors to the manager.
    • Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
    • Be willing to assist outside of normal working hours with private events as required.
    • Preparation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
    • Provide full wine service
    • Regularly restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies to ensure optimal service and availability

    Experience and knowledge:

    • Proven experience as Waiter and Bartender
    • Barista experience advantageous 
    • Knowledge of serving etiquette and basic wine knowledge

    Healthcare Operations Coordinator

    Job Description

    • Faircape Health is seeking an experienced Healthcare Operations Coordinator (Half-Day) to join our healthcare leadership team in a hands-on, operational coordination role across three of our long-term healthcare facilities in the Southern Suburbs.(Tokai Estate, Noordhoek Manor and Cle du Cap)
    • The role is ideal for a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, or Social Worker who enjoys working beyond direct clinical care and wants to play a meaningful role in healthcare operations, patient flow, compliance, communication, and service excellence.
    • As the Healthcare Operations Coordinator, you will work closely with the Healthcare Manager to ensure the smooth, compliant, and high-quality day-to-day functioning of our facilities.
    • You will act as a key operational link between clinical teams, support services, families, and management, ensuring that care delivery, admissions, MDT processes, and resident experience are consistently aligned with Faircape’s standards.
    • This is a people-facing, fast-paced, and impactful role, offering exposure across multiple facilities and disciplines, while still being rooted in clinical understanding and patient-centred care.

    Key Responsibilities

    Operational Coordination & Facility Oversight (All Facilities)

    • Support and coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges in line with Faircape procedures
    • Ensure facilities are fully prepared for admissions, including room readiness and operational checks
    • Maintain daily operational oversight, ensuring no unresolved Health & Safety, maintenance, or service delivery issues
    • Conduct daily Health & Safety walkthroughs across all facilities
    • Participate in scheduled Health & Safety audits and track findings to closure
    • Maintain visible, hands-on engagement with teams on the floor

    Admissions Coordination & Resident Flow (All Facilities)

    • Coordinate pre-admission assessments, including scheduling with families and MDT members

    Manage the administrative admissions process, including:

    • Family communication
    • Issuing and tracking contracts
    • Completing admission documentation and Jotforms
    • Cross-checking admission paperwork for completeness
    • Oversee admission days, ensuring a welcoming, smooth, and professional experience for residents and families

    Family & Resident Communication (All Facilities)

    • Serve as a key front-facing contact for residents and families
    • Maintain a professional, calm, and solution-focused communication style
    • Proactively address concerns to ensure
    • Escalate complex or sensitive matters to the Healthcare Manager or relevant senior stakeholders as required

    Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Coordination (All Facilities)

    • Coordinate and schedule all required MDT meetings
    • Confirm attendance of relevant MDT members
    • Prepare and maintain MDT agendas, minutes, and documentation
    • Track MDT action items and ensure follow-through
    • Support effective MDT collaboration to ensure integrated, patient-centred care

    Administration, Reporting & Communication

    • Prepare and submit daily operational reports to the Healthcare Manager
    • Communicate key operational updates across facilities
    • Monitor service delivery and identify trends, risks, or concerns
    • Escalate operational or clinical risks timeously

    Ad Hoc & Operational Support

    • Provide flexible support during high-pressure periods, including admissions, incidents, inspections, or audits
    • Assist with additional operational or administrative tasks as required

    Requirements

    Qualifications & Knowledge

    • Registered healthcare professional in one of the following disciplines: Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, Social Worker
    • Current registration with the relevant professional body (HPCSA / SANC / SACSSP)
    • Clinical experience within a healthcare, rehabilitation, or long-term care environment

    Senior Sous Chef

    Responsibilities include, but not be limited:

    • Managing and mentoring chefs, ensuring proper weekly training and adherence to food safety standards as well as policies and procedures.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment among kitchen staff.
    • Monitor food presentation, taste, and consistency to meet high standards.
    • Upholding impeccable standards of food quality, consistency and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
    • Preparing meals according to set recipes and meal specifications
    • Ensure strict adherence to meal ingredients and presentation specifications, to guarantee the quality and consistency of each meal
    • Manage and oversee the cooking process from preparation to presentation
    • Supervise and produce the daily meals for the healthcare, including a variety of 3-course menus that rotate every four weeks, while completing the healthcare meals, one needs to prepare quality meals and baked goods for the cafe as well to ensure there is sufficient food 
    • Ensuring and measuring proper food temperatures when cooking and serving of meals 
    • Collaborate with the team to efficiently manage stock variances, ensuring accurate inventory levels and minimising discrepancies.
    • Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment and ensuring to follow health and safety guidelines.
    • Ensuring that daily food safety documents and paperwork is up to date

    Qualifications:

    • Chef's diploma/qualification from a registered tertiary education provider.

    Requirements and Experience:

    • Proven experience in a Head Chef / Senior Sous Chef capacity 
    • Knowledge of food quality management and standardisation.
    • Maintaining an excellent physical condition and stamina.
    • Proficient in various cooking and baking techniques.
    • Understanding of health and safety requirements in a kitchen.
