Description
- The position exists as a primary source of accurate and efficient administrative data input, to collaboratively coordinate all financial, HRM system inputs encompassing planning, budgeting, costing, procurement, payroll, safety, and operations activities for all projects of responsibility.
Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting
- Collect monthly HR report figures from sites.
- Capture HR information on system.
- Do weekly plant returns e.g. diesel reports.
- Daily site costing and forecasting on site level, including recording of daily hours on internal and external plant for daily costing and invoicing purposes by suppliers.
Governance
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (Value Added Tax Act etc.) including FA policies and procedures.
- Ensure payroll inputs are in accordance with FA policy.
Budget & Forecast
- Process inputs of site level budgets and forecasts into the ERP system.
- Assist with the monthly rolling forecast calculations.
Operational Responsibilities
- Perform other site and administrational duties when required.
Payroll, Benefits and Other Responsibilities
- Ensure employee take on and exit are carried out in line with FA policy.
- Site stores and consumables management and recording of transactions relating to issues, receiving and stock take.
- Payroll data input, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of payroll and wages inputs and cost allocations.
- Inventory management.
- Impersonating wage staff on ESS to administer leave and other benefits, training.
- Scheduling and programming of medicals and inductions for employees.
- Registering and channelling of all personnel enquiries to the relevant levels.
- Compiling, safe-keeping and the maintenance of personnel files for all wage employees on a specific site(s).
- Monthly HP reconciliations for amortization schedules to the general ledger.
- Compile annual HP schedules for Auditors.
- Reconciliation of Workshop and Fixed Assets petty cash and submission for reimbursement.
- Liaising between Site manager and HR and other depts.
- Assist with site level comms, updating notice boards and distributing on site.
- General Administration including record keeping, filing, Operating of office equipment i.e. printer, copier, telephone, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12
- Diploma or certificate in administration would be advantageous
EXPERIENCE
- At least 3 years experience in an administrative role or similar
- Experience with an ERP systems would be advantageous

Description
PURPOSE
- The aim of the Operations Supervisor is to ensure that tasks are carried out on site and on shift regarding Safety, Environment and Productivity.
- To assist the Superintendent and other line managers with the efficient and effective running of the site.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business / Functional Management
- Execute operational and technical duties in line with organisational directives, as provided by the Superintendent or reporting line manager.
- Support implementation of business initiatives as directed in their area.
Financial, Commercial and Contracts Management
- Work with materials and equipment in a cost-effective way, as per standard operating procedures and practice notes as directed by line manager.
- Ensure full compliance to material usage requirements in executing duties.
Risk Management and Compliance, Including Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) Responsibility
- Execute all duties in strict compliance to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) policies, procedures and legislation, to ensure the company's responsibility is met.
- Comply with all reporting and information requirements as set by the Superintendent.
Stakeholder Management (Internal and External)
- Ensure professional interaction with stakeholders from operator to junior management level.
- Maintain working relationships with support functions on site and at head office, as required to deliver in their section against standards.
- Engage with peers and seniors on the project to ensure project objectives are achieved as per instruction.
Operations and Project Management
- Contribute to plan / schedule generation for daily / shift work, in line with project goals.
- Responsible for operational execution of work, through delivery of own tasks and duties, as well as supervision of the work for the team on shift.
- Execute own work according to daily and weekly schedules as assigned, as well as supervision of the work for the team on shift.
- Ensure that own and teams work is executed on time, in full, on standard and right the first time in support of operational goals and targets for the area.
- Keep records as required by the superintendent.
- Facilitate daily/shift production meetings and provide information as required relating to the area of work.
- Check drawings and quantities to ensure that the calculations are accurate for the job.
- Use material according to specified plans and schedules.
- Ensure all material usage is accurately recorded and controlled as per standard operating procedure.
- Assist QS with on-site measurements and recording.
- Assist with administrative work when required.
Management Operating Systems and Reporting
- Ensure all paperwork and posters are displayed on the site office wall and kept up to date.
- Ensure all reported near misses are recorded following procedure and submitted weekly.
Technical Management
- Responsible for adherence to technical standards and work methods, for section, in accordance with organisational and client requirements, policies, procedures and legislation.
SHEQ Management
- Check sums are right on plan drawings and quantities and that all materials and work are to the specifications.
- Record the condition of plant arriving on site in a form with photographs.
- Oversee the selection and requisition of materials and plan.
- Apply quality management and improvement processes around responsibility.
Staff Management
- Highlights any deviations or non-compliance that may occur.
- Execute duties in full compliance of safety, training and health requirements.
Culture and Climate
- Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement for the duration of the project.
- Align with client culture requirements as directed by management.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- National Diploma in Civil or Mining / Metallurgical / Industrial Engineering or equivalent
- B Tech in Civil or Mining / Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent preferred

- Knowledge and understanding of the national legislation, standards and bylaws applicable to Tailings business.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of technical and operational aspects core to the tailings industry.

PURPOSE
- An existing opportunity exists to assist operations where FEL/ TLB/ Excavator/ ADT/ Grader/ Water Truck are required to make the operating environment safer and more convenient by excavating trenches, cleaning spillages, connecting pipes, and construction of deposition wall and maintenance of access roads.

REQUIREMENTS
Production Requirements
- Ensure that relevant SOP’s (Standard operating procedure) for the specific machine is followed at all times.
- Responsible for general housekeeping of the machine
- General inspection of the machine before and after the shift and complete inspection checklist.
- Adhere to safety rules and regulations
Equipment
- Complete pre-shift inspection report at the beginning of every shift and report all faults and problems to the Supervisor.
- Inspect the equipment (machine) and the working area.
Operator Maintenance
- Operate and maintain equipment as per OEM operator manual specifications.
- Check condition of the machine.
- Always ensure cleanliness of machine.
- Ensure lubrication as per OEM specifications.
- Maintain fuel levels in the machine.
- Assist maintenance personnel with tasks when required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12
- Valid MQA accredited (FEL/ TLB/ Excavator/ ADT/ Grader/ Water Truck) Competency Certificate
EXPERIENCE
- At least 2-3 years relevant work experience in an earthmoving environment
