    Financial Accountant

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Day to day management of the finance function to:

    • Manage all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, IC and revenue recognition  
    • Cash collection, cash management, capital expenditure and SARB regulations
    • Manage in/outsourced functions where appropriate
    • Assist in coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
    • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial results / assist in board packs
    • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting including the preparation of statutory accounts
    • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
    • Support month-end and year-end close process including reconciliations
    • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
    • Manage and comply with local reporting requirements and tax filings where applicable, as well as SOX compliance.
    • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
    • Undertake financial analysis to support decision making
    • Create additional analyses and reports as requested by management

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Ability to self-manage
    • Desire and ability to identify potential problems, solve independently, or within appropriate timeframe escalate to correct level
    • Reliable and capable, able to run financial management function with minimal supervision from finance manager once established
    • Self-starter who takes ownership of tasks and objectives
    • Attention to detail, desire to produce high quality work
    • Very deadline driven
    • Appreciation of importance of stringent control environment applicable to US listed company
    • Understanding of the level of reporting and control environments of a multinational
    • Clear communicator
    • Strong ability to plan and organize

    Experience:

    • Must have 3+ years multinational financial accounting experience in South Africa, as well as some experience in financial accounting in the rest of Africa
    • Experience in dealing effectively with tax authorities (SARS)
    • Preferable experience in a people business – e.g. consultancy
    • Extremely strong excel skills
    • Knowledge of Black Economic Empowerment regulations advantageous
    • Experience of Peoplesoft system advantageous

    Education Qualifications:

    • University graduate with a recognized professional accounting qualification

    Pitch Manager

    Main Responsibilities

    • Delivery of compliant, professionally formed proposals within customer defined timeframes and objectives
    • Identifying areas in client briefs which require further information to then issue questions directly to the client/stakeholders to facilitate additional clarity to strengthen our response
    • Finalising and submitting pitches in line with the client's instructions
    • Coordinate and review / edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders
    • Confident in using MS office for template management in line with company branding.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    • BSc/BA in business administration
    • 2-3 years’ experience with pitch preparation
    • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.)
    • An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • Highly organized, scheduling and managing timelines and milestones
    • Highly organized in keeping accurate records and centralized files for work submitted
