    Assistant Brand Manager

    Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in marketing or a related field.

    Position Summary

    • As an Assistant Brand Manager for Purina, you will play a crucial role in supporting the brand management function for Purina's pet food products. Working closely with cross-functional teams and external agencies, you will contribute to driving brand growth and achieving business objectives.

    A day in the life of a  Strategic Business Development Manager:             

    • Develop  a clear strategy covering product portfolio, supply, route to market and sales channels to grow and develop the penetration within the assigned countries and improve the overall competitive position for the business.
    • Define and set business objectives and market strategies for the total business within the market, and develop policies to evaluate and monitor performance with corrective actions.          
    • Effectively lead, control and manage the Distributor, Direct selling and Sales team to achieve the set Business objectives.
    • Accountably and responsibly ensure achievement of agreed sales targets/KPIs.

    Tanker Off Loader (x2)

    • As a Tanker Off Loader, you will be responsible for sampling and inspecting milk deliveries from tankers, off-loading tankers into silos after receiving satisfactory sample results, and performing CIP procedures on tankers after off-loading. Additionally, you will always maintain a clean and hygienic milk reception area and adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

    A day in the life of a Tanker Off Loader:

    • To sample milk tankers on arrival for milk acceptance tests
    • To off-load milk tankers and to cool milk
    • To off-load oil tankers
    • To load milk and cream tankers
    • To CIP all milk and cream tankers
    • To CIP all fresh milk valve groups and pipelines
    • Responsible for the housekeeping and daily cleaning of the entire fresh milk reception area
    • Open ice water on the milk coolers and check the temperature of the ice water
    • Check that all gaskets in use are in good shape to ensure no leaks occur during off-loading
    • Complete the logbook for each vehicle loaded, off-loaded and CIP cleaned.
    • Preparation and monitoring of CIP chemical solution

    Hygiene Attendant (x4)

    • In this role you will be responsible to maintain high level of hygiene and housekeeping in the plant and the surrounding areas.

    A day in the life of a Hygiene Attendant:

    Handling of Air Filters

    • Inspect air filters in the egron and fan rooms daily and replace dirty filters with clean ones
    • Clean air filter rooms daily and complete filter logbook daily

    Egron Duties

    • Assist process controller during starting and stopping of the spray dryer
    • Assist in the dry cleaning of the plant and other equipment as per procedure
    • Report any damaged equipment or abnormalities to the Team Leader
    • Maintain high standard of hygiene and housekeeping in the plant
    • Clean and sanitize spray dryer floors when necessary
    • Replenish PPE stock for high hygiene areas

    Handling of non-conforming product

    • Conduct actual bagging of non-conforming product and pack them neatly on a pallet
    • Keep the bagging station in a clean and neat condition

    Safety and Housekeeping

    • Clean spray dryer roof on second floor daily as per procedure
    • Clean sieve washing room as and when necessary
    • Apply safety and housekeeping in area of responsibility

    General

    • Participate in continuous improvement activities
    • Relieves the tote bin attendant and batch mixer as and when necessary
    • Performs other duties assigned to him/her from time to time by his/her team leader as    required

    Process Controller Wet

    • In this role you will be responsible to safely control the milk-offloading, batch mixing and standardization process in the wet and mixing sections in the most economical way while ensuring a safe and high-quality product which adheres to all legal legislation and Nestle quality norms established and ensuring production losses are kept below the budget loss quantity.

    A day in the life of a Process Controller Wet (Standardizer):

    Milk offloading and reception + cream sales

    • Controls all aspects of milk and transit milk reception and offloading
    • Monitors and records nutritional and quality results for all fresh milk, skim milk and cream
    • Responsible for cream sales – separation of milk, loading of cream and record-keeping

    Batch Standardizing

    • Prepare and standardize batches according to production plan
    • Weighing of minor ingredients to be added
    • Manages CIP of silos and ensure they are free from residues
    • Manage Batch Mixers to ensure raw materials are staged and batch is prepared on time

    SAP + Admin work

    • Inventory management of Production Storage Area
    • Accurate consumption of raw materials on SAP and milk receiving online capturing
    • Complete and archive records for consumptions, standardization sheets, milk intake logbook, ICP for lab equipment, quality record monitoring
    • Participate in general production activities and instructions given by superior.
    • Participate in NCE, DOR, SHO and other team meetings
    • Clean and maintain good condition of the equipment, floors, walls, and windows in the milk offloading, dissolving and standardization area as per hygiene requirements
    • Performs other duties assigned to him/her from time to time by his/her team leader as required.

    What will make you successful?

    • Understand the composition of milk, basic microbiology, standardization of fresh milk, principles of evaporation, homogenization, spray drying and CIP
    • Understanding and conducting root cause analyses
    • Computer literacy (MS Excel and Word) and good understanding of SAP

    • Preparation of bulk mixed product within required quality standard
    • Ensure no defect materials are used for production                                                                                
    • Ensure strict adherence to best operating practices and QMS                                                
    • Perform regular inventory management checks
    • Material staging for batch preparation
    • Maintain good housekeeping in Production Staging Area and CIP of production lines                           
    • Assist with factory related trials
    • Able to recognize unsafe conditions and improve safety standards and maintain a safe working environment                                       
    • Able to perform any reasonable duty in the event of non-production

    Egron Assistant

    Position Summary

We are now looking for a Production Assistant (Egron) to be based in Mossel Bay Factory.
    • This operational role involves performing routine manual tasks related to the manufacturing and filling of milk powder. You will work in a controlled environment with stringent quality and safety standards, maintaining the highest levels of hygiene and cleanliness.

    A day in the life of an Egron Assistant :

    Starting of the spray drier

    • Wait for instructions from process controller to install spray nozzles
    • Check the spraying quality and use the signals to communicate to the process controller

    Stopping of the spray dryer

    • Wait for instructions from the process controller for stopping of the spray dryer
    • Dismantle the spraying nozzles and clean
    • Connect the spray nozzle flexi hoses to the CIP line

    Totebin duties

    • Change and clean tote bins at the scales as per procedure and maintain general hygiene of the tote bin area and the 1st floor of the spray dryer
    • Declare tote bins on SAP immediately after removing them from the scale
    • Ensure proper handling of forklifts and batteries according to procedures

     Inline Laboratory duties

    • Carry out inline laboratory tests as per procedure
    • Record results in the analysis book and capture the quality results on SAP

      Housekeeping and hygiene

    • Assist with dry cleaning of the tower and other spray dryer equipment
    • Clean spray dryer floors, walls, windows and doors when necessary

     General

    • Participate in Shift handovers
    • Participate in continuous improvement activities
    • Performs other duties assigned to him/her from time to time by his/her team leader as    required.
