Description
- Right to Care is recruiting Professional Nurses across the Nkangala District, with 11 positions in Dr JS Moroka, 2 in Emakhazeni, 4 in Emalahleni, 15 in Steve Tshwete, 16 in Thembisile Hani, and 1 in Victor Khanye.
Patient Care
- Assess, examine and diagnose patient’s clinical conditions and triage.
- Do relevant blood test and observations / vital signs.
- Interpret HIV test results, follow up on inaccuracies
- Assist with the process and implementation of VCT(Voluntary Testing and Counselling) / HCT (HIV Counselling and Testing).
- Design and implement nursing care plans, monitor and evaluate patient’s progress.
- Perform pap smears on all HIV infected patients yearly monitor and refer appropriately.
- Assist with the process of implementing PMTCT (Prevention from Mother to Child Treatment) and TB (Tuberculosis) programmes / services at the site
- Implement NIMART as mandated in Section 38A
- Record keeping of all relevant patient information on files / (Therapy Edge).
- Refer appropriately.
Staff Development
- Supervise and coordinate activities of all sub-ordinates.
- Participate in the site in-service training program
Administration Duties
- Compile monthly and daily reports of ART patients.
- Ensure efficient coordination of the anti retroviral site, its referrals networks and ensure sustenance of the ART Programme
Research
- Keep abreast with present developments in the field
- To participate in research projects relevant to the specific field
- Generate relevant reports and do follow ups on inaccuracies

Right to Care is recruiting Enrolled Nurses across the Nkangala District, with 5 positions in Dr JS Moroka, 8 in Emakhazeni, and 11 in Emalahleni.
- Call all eligible patients and take them to the DSD Nurse for initiation.
- Make sure that all initiated patients have been captured on Tier.net.
- Increase IPT Initiation among patients currently on ART by using the viral load due lists and patients on adherence clubs.
- Request files for patients with no outcomes, audit them and ask the Data Capture to update outcomes on TIER.NET
- Every month request a list of patients that needs repeat script for IPT and ensure that the treatment is continued for the prescribed duration according to guidelines.
- Counselling of patients in their own language, get consent and offer rapid HIV testing.
- Refer all positive patients to the Professional Nurse for initiation on the same day (Handshake approach)
- Link mother baby pairs to care through identification of HIV positive mothers and PCR positive babies and refer them for initiation of ART
- Go through the TB room and make sure that all TB presumptive /diagnosed patients have been tested for HIV – if not make note to test them on their next visits.
- Screen patients for STI, TB by asking the 4 screening questions and refer patients accordingly
- Support all Self Screening activities happening within and in vicinity of your facility.
- Ensure that the Risk Profiling tool is used in your facility.

- Create index testing contact list, call the partners as according to your list using the facility phone or any alternative provided.
- Collaborate with Right to Care Community Partners, WBHCOTS and HBC teams to help trace all Index contacts on your list
