    BC - Fixed Term Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy Teacher

    Requirements

    • The Boys’ College invites applications for the above-mentioned position which will be filled from 1 January 2027 – 31 December 2027.
    • Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on this position.

    The requirements for this position are: 

    • A proven academic record and appropriate experience, including Grade 8 – 12 Mathematics and/or Mathematical Literacy teaching
    • A sound knowledge and capability of delivering both the FET and GET curriculum for Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy 
    • Previous experience in an IEB school would be a distinct advantage, as would experience in IEB Matric marking
    • Willingness to embrace rapid changes in education and an interest and ability to integrate IT and online approaches into your teaching and learning
    • A high level of organisational, managerial and administrative skills
    • A passion for teaching and for the young people whose learning you would be expected to inspire
    • A willingness to work within the Christian ethos of the College and the values upheld by the College

    BC - English Teacher

    Requirements

    The requirements for this position are:  

    • A suitable professional qualification with proven academic record. 
    • Appropriate educational experience, preferably a minimum of five years of teaching experience in grade 8 - 12 English.
    • Experience in developing learning and teaching material and assessment practices according to IEB requirements and the needs of the learners, at both GET and FET levels
    • Academic experience in an IEB Matric marking would be an advantage

    Requirements

    GC - Athletics Coach

    Requirements

    • The College invites applications for the above-mentioned part-time coaching position which will be available from 7 September 2026.  The coach will be paid on a fixed-term contract (two months) according to their expertise and level. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills, passion and competencies to take on this position.

    Requirements:

    • Proven performance of coaching and mentoring student athletes; including experience in the pastoral space
    • Relevant sport-related qualifications
    • Clearance from the National Register for Sex Offenders (NRSO) confirming no record of sexual offences against children and mentally impaired people or a valid police clearance certificate
    • Ability to manage practices and work nights and/or weekends
    • Conflict management skills
    • Proven ability to work with diverse teams and/or a commitment to diversity and inclusion
    • Understands and adheres to the by-laws, policies, procedures, regulations, and rules of St Stithians College

    Responsibilities:

    • The coaching of students during team practices (planning and executing of practice sessions)
    • The attendance and coaching of students at home and away fixtures (including all relevant tournaments and/or festivals)
    • Complete attendance registers and capture relevant data at all practices
    • Write termly sport comments for each student and submit them timeously to the relevant TIC
    • Committed to the development of each player and help students develop in the sport, and teach good sportsmanship
    • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop effective working relationships with athletes, coaching staff, parents and staff that support athletics.
    • The attendance and coaching of students at athletics meets, in Gauteng.
    • Work collaboratively with other coaches and the greater athletics community
    • Represent the Girls’ College at relevant events with honour and pride
