Duties include but will not be limited to:

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees, including data entry, validation, and reconciliation.
• Ensure accurate timeous calculation and payment of wages, bonuses, and other compensation components.
• Compile on Excel Job Costing Batches for Seagoing vessels
• Assist with Macros and Importing of Batches for Monthly pay run.
• Sourcing information and preparing of routine and ad-hoc reports and payments

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Grade 12 with 2-5 years’ experience within the payroll field
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience working on Sage 300 people with Job costing modules.
• Payroll certification will be advantageous
• Solid knowledge of payroll principles, processes and procedures
• Solid understanding of relevant legislation (Tax, BCEA, Employee Benefits)
• Excel intermediate user (Pivots & Vlookups)
• Excellent administration and good communication skills
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Detail-oriented, Proactive, Pressure resilient, Independent but needs to be a team player
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience with time and attendance and multiple pay frequencies
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Experience within the fishing industry would be an added advantage

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspecting, monitoring and testing food products to ensure that products are manufactured in accordance with requirements and specifications
• Maintaining food safety, quality assurance and sanitation programs
• Perform effective quality checks on incoming fish and completing logs and reports
• Maintaining and compliance of standards within the department such as HACCP, OHASA
• Adjusting quality samples on the Qwix warehouse program
• Assisting with regulatory audits

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Matric advantageous
• Competent in Microsoft applications such as word and excel
• At least 2 years of proven experience in a similar role within a food related industry
• Knowledge of Food Safety; HACCP; GMPs; PRPs
• Must be punctual and reliable
• Self-starter and positive attitude
• Good time management with tasks
• Hands-on approach
• Understanding to work overtime and weekends when needed
• Good health and energetic, able to work in inclement temperatures
• Work well in a team and follow instructions
• Sober habits sand clear criminal record

DUTIES AND RESOPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up components for welding
• Keep records of jobs and drawings
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
• Weld components using welding equipment
• Assist to repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Able to work with power tools
• Maintain equipment in the condition that does not compromise safety
• Report all dangerous or unsafe behaviors to supervisor or manager
• Perform housekeeping duties

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Grade 12 advantageous
• 3-5 years' experience in marine environment
• Experienced in using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools
• Be prepared to work overtime and adhere to all company safety rules and policies
• Able to demonstrate good communication skills
• Ability to be a strong team player and have the passion to learn new things
• Must be able to read drawings
• Ability to work at heights and confined spaces
• Available to work under pressure and overtime

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Shifting of vessels
• Operating of Hyster/Forklift
• Docking of vessels
• Offloading deck load (excess boxes of fish) from various vessels
• Cleaning of fish holds on vessels
• Loading of bins (wet-fish vessels)
• Assisting with the loading of stores, deck, factory and engineering
• Conduct safety checks for the mooring ropes, which ropes (used to shift vessels) to ensure safe access from vessel to vessel
• Cleaning of bin store and stacking of bins
• Fetching and placing of fenders/tyres to be hanged between vessels
• Gangway placing and repairs (fitting of net around the gangways)
• Cleaning of the quayside-removing pallets, bins and fenders off quayside

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2 years berthing experience
• Preferably have Grade 12
• Preferably have Hyster License and relevant experience
• Positive attitude, reliable and punctual
• Good time management with tasks and timekeeping
• Hands-on approach
• Understanding and adhering to the company's Health and Safety standards
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends
• Medically fit in line with health and safety regulations
• Work well in a team and follow instructions
