    Software Technical Manager

    Other responsibilities include:

    • Working with Business Analysts, Junior Developers, Product Managers and other cross-functional resources to define and deliver business impacting projects.
    • Directing software programming and documentation development.
    • Project Management and proficiency in Project Management tools eg, Azure DevOps, Jira, Trello
    • Test, maintain and recommend improvements to ensure strong functionality and optimisation of existing solutions.
    • Provide guidance on process design and resolve complex technical design issues.
    • Create technical and process documentation for reference and reporting.
    • Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications.
    • Support the launch and implementation of solutions as well as providing post-implementation support in resolving any potential issues to ensure smooth business operations.
    • Work with team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing.
    • Testing and debugging code.

    • Experience using project management tools such as Azure DevOps.

    Tax Assistant Manager

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Work with the auditors and finance team to prepare income tax and deferred tax calculations for the AFS
    • Preparation and submission of company income tax returns with supporting schedules and workings
    • Completion and submission of IT14SD Supplementary Declaration returns
    • Preparation and submission of provisional tax calculations
    • Checking tax assessments, and following up on all tax related issues
    • Liaising with SARS and stakeholders with regards to tax issues
    • Draft letters/objections and other query responses to SARS
    • Online tax clearance/tax status applications
    • Calculation and payment of dividend withholding tax and filing of dividend tax returns
    • Assistance with calculation of foreign withholding tax credits and signing off monthly reconciliations
    • Assistance with review of monthly vat processes/returns/schedules
    • Preparing technical opinions/position papers for the organisation and ensuring procedures and processed are adhered to, to manage compliance for the firm
    • Keeping abreast of the latest tax developments
    • Assistance to the operations team, payroll and HR departments with general VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax and Customs queries
    • Assist with the relevant tax submissions in foreign countries, USA, India, Nigeria
    • Assistance with Africa Tax Compliance Dashboard
    • Formalise and report any known tax related transgressions

    Qualifications

    • CA(SA)/Bcom(Acc) or similar qualification with an appropriate post degree qualification in tax
    • Accreditation with relevant professional body, SAICA, SAIT etc.
    • Practical working experience at/with SARS
    • Practical working experience in a tax compliance/consulting department
    • Practical experience in handling cross border transactions, VAT and PAYE

    Manager - Transaction Diligence Cape Town

    Skills and attributes for success

    • Analyse financial/operational results of targets through reviewing accounting records and conducting interviews with management
    • Participate in due diligence engagements related to acquisitions by private equity investor groups and strategic corporate buyers
    • Prepare/evaluate pro forma financial information
    • Identify issues for purchase price reductions, deal structuring or deal termination
    • Identify post-acquisition action steps to achieve anticipated earnings/cash flow improvements
    • Evaluate effects of seasonality on cash flow requirements. Perform industry and company research
    • Correlate due diligence findings with client valuations.

    To qualify for the role, you must have

    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting and/or related major.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills - reports need to be ready for Partner review

    • Big 4 Corporate Finance experience in Transaction Support Management Role
    • Exposure to large transactions that are complex and involve cross boarder activities
    • Ability to utilise strong local insights to the Due Diligence

    Senior Manager - International Tax and Transaction Services

    Key Responsibilities

    • You are required to demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts and effectively apply your tax knowledge to client situations, developing and delivering innovative tax planning ideas with timely, responsive services and work products that meet and/or exceed client expectations.
    • You will conduct tax due diligence reviews, engage in structuring engagements, accurately analyse information and prepare quality, practical and creative approaches tailored to a client’s tax and economic situation, arriving at appropriate conclusions.

    • Assisting with buy side and sell side due diligences
    • Assisting in advising clients on the structuring of business transactions and tax implications thereof
    • Drafting of opinions for clients on the tax consequences of restructures, mergers and acquisitions, as well as other pertinent matters

    • Liaison with SARS and Counsel regarding complex and uncertain tax matters

    To qualify for the role you must have

    • CA (SA), TA (SA) or admitted attorney
    • Ability to communicate complex tax concepts succinctly and clearly to clients
    • Experience managing budgets, projects and people
    • Ability to develop relationships with clients and provide a high level of client service
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and time management capabilities
    • The ability to work at a fast pace, often with shifting responsibilities
    • Minimum of 8 years’ related experience

    Ideally, you will also have

    • A consistent record of excellence in a professional services environment
    • Experience in one of the Big 4 preferable
