The Role and Work Environment

• The Senior Business Systems Analyst will join an international team embedded with a key client. This position offers a hybrid work model with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. The team collaborates across South Africa, the UK, and India, with working hours aligning with UK times, typically ending at 6 PM local time in South Africa.
• The role demands familiarity with change control and documentation processes, adherence to strict ISO, SOX, and Data Protection controls. A typical day involves participating in scrum ceremonies, stakeholder meetings, and utilizing tools such as Google Docs, Microsoft Azure DevOps, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.
• The company values teamwork, technical proficiency, quality documentation, and effective communication. Full-time employees are required to pass at least one Microsoft certification annually, with support provided to achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and delivery across the workstack
• Contribute to IT roadmaps and business prioritization
• Define and uphold standards for analysis and change practices
• Represent IT with senior stakeholders
• Drive collaboration across business, IT, and offshore delivery teams
• Develop and present key analysis documentation
• Conduct full structured analysis including impact and technical analysis of change
• Manage stakeholder relationships and facilitate workshops
• Plan and coordinate system changes
• Manage team sprint backlog and create user stories
• Coordinate testing and creation of scripts
• Provide training and support handover

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Experience in delivering multiple projects in a matrix systems environment
• Strong understanding of business finance and accounting processes
• Strong skills in facilitating requirements workshops and negotiating with stakeholders
• Ability to uncover business needs, identify solution options, and present proposals
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Target-driven with a focus on business solution delivery
• Collaborative team player
• Willingness to travel to UK and Asia offices if required
• Self-organizing and customer-focused
• Understanding of data governance frameworks and ITIL processes
• ERP knowledge, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in advanced Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps for sprint planning

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze system specifications
• Create and execute both manual and automated test cases, analyzing results
• Document testing phases and defects through detailed logs
• Report bugs and errors to development teams
• Collaborate across functions to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
• Design and develop automation scripts using open-source tools
• Identify, analyze, and document issues with program functions, outputs, and user interfaces
• Conduct post-release and post-implementation testing
• Implement automation testing and improve regression testing processes
• Work with Microsoft Business Central Web Client's built-in test tools and performance utilities
• Test and integrate with external system APIs using tools like Postman

Requirements

• Degree preferred
• Proven experience as a Software Tester / QA or in a similar role
• Must have experience testing ERP systems
• ExperienCE testing Financial modules or Finance ERPs would be a huge advantage
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
• Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and cases
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with API testing tools like Postman
• Experience with Microsoft Automate or similar automation software
• Understanding of business requirements and ability to translate software specifications into testable conditions
• Skills in identifying flaws, reporting bugs, creating test scripts, and assessing software performance
• Must be based in Cape Town and have a South African ID
• Must be willing to work in office 3 days per week
