    Risk Specialist

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A Grade 12 Certificate. National Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management / Internal Audit/Finance. A
    • minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification experience, of which 2 years must be at a supervisory level in Risk Management.
    • A postgraduate qualification in Risk Management/ Internal Audit/Finance will be an added advantage.
    • Registration with the Institute of Risk Management of South Africa (IRMSA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Compliance Institute of South Africa (CISA), or other related professional bodies, will be an added advantage.

    Key responsibilities and Duties
    Assist with the risk assessment and compilation of risk profiles

    • Review and update the Risk Register
    • Assist in conducting risk assessment interviews and assessment sessions at Head Office and Regions.
    • Analyse the risks to identify the likelihood and the impact or magnitude of the effect of risk (risk matrix).

    Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of a risk management policy and strategy

    • Assist to develop and implement a risk management policy and strategy.
    • Ensure that all spheres in the institution adhere to and comply with the policy.

    Provide administration support to the Risk Management Committee.

    • Handle all logistical arrangements of Risk Management Committee meetings.
    • Take minutes of the Risk Management Committee Meetings.
    • Distribute minutes before meetings.

    Risk assessment and reporting

    • Develop, review, and monitor the implementation of risk management, business continuity, anti-fraud, and corruption prevention measures.
    • Facilitate strategic and operational risk assessments.
    • Conduct fraud risk assessment workshops.
    • Compile and monitor strategic and operational risk registers.
    • Draft risk management reports for MANCO, EXCO, Risk Management Committee and Audit Committee.
    • Follow up on the implementation of the mitigating action plans that were put in place to reduce the risk to an acceptable level.
    • Ensure dissemination of the risk management strategy and the associated plans to employees.
    • Ensure regular communication on outstanding items on the risk registers and the risk management plan.
    • Assist with the review of the Risk Management Framework, Policies and other guides.
    • Provide secretariat services to the Risk Management Committee (RMC).
    • Conduct awareness sessions to employees on Fraud Prevention, Risk Management and Business Continuity etc.
    • Provide support to the head of the business unit and conduct ad-hoc administrative tasks as required.

    Executive Manager: Corporate Services (Head Hunting)

    Qualifications and Experience

    • An Honours degree or Post Graduate Diploma at NQF level 8 as recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) in either the field of Public Administration /, Management Science/ Law or equivalent
    • MBA or MBL would be an added advantage
    • A minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience at a management level with five years at a Senior Management in Corporate Services environment.
    • Practical experience in the Corporate Governance environment, Stakeholder management and financial management
    • Proven experience in strategic planning and leadership skills
    • Understanding of Audit process, corporate systems and relevant legislation including PFMA, LRA, BCEA, SDA, SDLA, Public Protector Act, Constitutional mandate, etc
    • Computer literacy and a valid driver’s license is required 

    Duties and responsibilities

    Strategic Responsibilities

    • Develop human Capital Management and support services policies and strategies
    • Oversee the development of an effective short, medium and long-term human capital management policy and strategy for the PPSA.
    • Manage the relationship between corporate service and core business to ensure effective provision of support services.
    • Provide strategic advise to the CEO and Management on corporate services policies and strategies.
    • Oversee the development, delivery and achievement of the business plans and budget for the branch.
    • Develop sound strategic relationships with relevant stakeholders to serve the interest of the business unit.
    • Ensure the provision of accurate, current advice regarding Corporate Services to all stakeholders.
    • Oversee the application of principles of good governance and legislative compliance to the operation of the division.
    • Analyse service delivery by the branch and identify gaps and challenges, develop action strategies and manage the implementation thereof.
    • Guide the provision of quality services to internal and external customers/clients/stakeholders and organized groups to improve the branches’ overall performance.
    • Identify risks associated with corporate services and develop mitigation plans.
    • Participate in governance structures within PPSA.
    • Ensure compliance with all Corporate Services reporting responsibilities.
    • Strengthening Corporate Governance in the institution 

    Support Services

    • Provide suitable office accommodation for all PPSA service points.
    • Ensure provision of effective records management system to safeguard all PPSA records.
    • Ensure provision of effective Information Management and Legal Services.
    • Ensure provision of effective Security and Facilities management services.
    • Conduct periodic assessment of the effectiveness of Facilities, Security Services, office support and maintenance services.
    • Ensure effective and efficient provision of fleet, travel and accommodation services to PPSA.

    Senior Manager: Complaints and Stakeholder Management (Head Hunting)

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A SAQA recognised bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration or equivalent. A relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.Eight years’ relevant experience in a legal environment, Customer Relations, Complaints handling, public awareness and community outreach work, of which five years should have been at Middle Management level Knowledge and experience in stakeholder management, investigations and Communication. Understanding of legal prescripts dealing with complaints resolution processes Call Centre management
    • Proven track record in data management. Proficiency in at least three official South African languages will be an advantage Good understanding of Cooperative Governance Frameworks Knowledge of strategic planning, financial management, project management, human resources management practices, change management principles and outreach. Valid driver’s license and excellent skills in computer packages.

    Key responsibilities and Duties
    Complaints Management

    • Develop/review strategies, policies and programmes for implementation and management of case or complaint intake, preliminary assessment and customer service Develop business intelligence reports on reported complaints Manage Intake, Assessments and Customer Service Manage Reception, Registry and Call Centre Ensure the development and implementation of effective Customer Service Management processes
    • Manage the implementation of the Integrated Access and Stakeholder Management Strategy and Implementation Plan Develop, manage and maintain effective case management workflow Oversee and provide support, guidance and coaching to complaints handling team and team leaders
    • Oversee the delivery of case management services to complainants at each location and ensuring compliance with all aspects of case management processes in accordance with Public Protector South Africa Policies and Procedures. Manage the finalisation of emergency matters in support of the Complaints Resolution Officers.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Manage outreach and stakeholder relations management and prepare reports thereon. Manage international relations and ensuring reporting Develop strategies to facilitate access to PPSA services by all communities Assist in the execution of high-profile engagements, Manage Human and Financial Resources (asset management, human and financial resources).
