    Safety Officer (Raisebore) - Sasol Shondoni Site

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Matric certificate / equivalent
    • Diploma / Degree in Health and Safety Management
    • Blasting certificate or Valid Trade Test
    • Valid driver’s license
    • COMSOC 01 & COMSOC 02 or equivalent
    • Computer literate (Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

    EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    • 3 years’ experience in an underground Mining Environment
    • 3 years’ experience in operational safety Management systems and ISO requirements
    • Experience in Raiseboring operations
    • Knowledge of industry and related legislation and standards
    • Emergency preparedness and response management knowledge and experience in the Mining Sector
    • Effective Team Player and Effective Self-Management

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform roles and responsibilities of the Safety Officer as depicted in the MHSA regulation
    • Conduct Safety inspections
    • Investigate incidents & accidents
    • Maintain procedures for the operation in specific areas of responsibility, ensure adherence to Group Standards and Legal Requirements
    • Communicate Health and Safety Awareness and Campaigns and on the job coaching of legislative and procedural requirements
    • Attend meetings with the OHS Manager to give feedback and receive instructions to improve safety performance in area of responsibility
    • Assist the OHS Manager with information gathering related to mandatory reports
    • Assist HODs and lead internal incident/accident investigations
    • Participate in 2nd and 3rd party health and safety audits in areas of responsibility
    • Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective communication system with the SHEQT Function
    • Manage and report on non-compliance issues

    Raisebore Foreman - Sasol Shondoni Site

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Matric certificate or equivalent
    • Certificate of Competency as a Raisebore Operator
    • Competency A will be an advantage
    • A valid Trade Test Certificate will be an advantage
    • Valid Driver’s license & own reliable transport
    • Must have no criminal record
    • Must be able to successfully pass all SAPS and Client screening processes
    • Medically fit to work underground

    EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    • 3 Years underground experience as Raisebore Operator and 3 Years as a Raisebore Foreman
    • Operation, establishment, de-establishment, and maintenance of Raisebore and machines and equipment
    • Operation and management of Robotic Shaft Liner will be an added advantage
    • Must be able to work flexible hours and willing to relocate
    • Must be willing to relocate on a temporary basis to other African countries
    • Must be able to work at heights
    • Administration skills and computer literacy

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure overall compliance with Health and Safety requirements
    • Ensure Production Targets are met
    • Planning of stock, material, and equipment availability
    • Ensuring the machine and equipment is in a good and operational state
    • Preventing unplanned breakdowns and ensuring regular maintenance
    • Tool and equipment control
    • Management of personnel and working hours
    • Promoting good client relationships
    • Ensure all Health and Safety issues around the workplace, equipment and people are identified and eliminated
    • Ensure the machine is assembled according to the procedures and Code of Practices as well as the manufacturers’ specifications
    • Inspect the underground work area and ensure that it is safe.
    • Check if eyebolts are secured
    • Clean footwall in accordance with procedure & Code of Practices as well as the manufacturers specifications
    • Alignment of Raisebore machine.

    Raisebore Assistant - Sasol Shondoni Site

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Matric certificate/ equivalent
    • Competency B will be an advantage
    • At least 1 year’s Underground Mining and Raisebore experience
    • Valid Driver’s license & own reliable transport

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Reporting of incidents and accidents to direct supervisors without delay
    • Reporting of all unsafe conditions & unsafe acts to his direct supervisor immediately
    • Risk assessments conducted for every new & out of the ordinary task
    • Ensure that all tools & equipment are in good condition and safe to use
    • Assisting with Maintenance schedules
    • Assisted with the planned maintenance as per the maintenance schedule. Focus must be placed on the following:
    • Ensure that all the spares and tools are available for the service
    • Ensure that the machine is cleaned after use
    • Assist the Raisebore Operator to maintain a proper maintenance program to eliminate breakdowns and keep to satisfactory requirements
    • Give assistance to the Raisebore Operator with repairs or breakdowns
    • Assistance with assessing the breakdown and identifying the problem
    • Obtain all the necessary tools and spare parts to rectify the problem

    HR Executive - Head Office


    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations, or related field
    • Relevant postgraduate degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field (master’s degree or MBA preferred)

    EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    • Minimum of 10 years HR Management experience, with at least 5 years in a Senior HR Leadership role within the mining, industrial, oil and gas or adjacent sector (in an organization of relevant size and complexity)
    • In-depth knowledge of South African Labour laws, BCEA, LRA, EE Act, and Mining Charter compliance
    • Proven experience in managing HR functions across remote or site-based operations

    TMM Training Specialist - Head Office

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Competent Person A & B
    • Intermediate level of competency on Microsoft suite of programs
    • Facilitators, Assessors certification or ETDP Level 4. Moderator certification will be an added advantage
    • Must be able to comply with Client screening requirements

    EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    • 3 Years’ Mining / Development experience in a trackless environment
    • Conventional mining and Longhole mining experience will be an added advantage.
    • Experience in the operation / training of the Sandvik /Normet/Volvo suite of trackless equipment utilised for development which could typically include (but not limited to) DD422I Drill Rig, LH 517 LHD, TH663 Dump Truck as well as the Normet Charmec, Spraymec, and Volvo IT as well as UV /Scissor Lift operations
    • 2 Years’ experience in a Training Role
    • Must have in depth knowledge of Mining especially trackless development
    • Knowledge of HIRA
    • Must have Knowledge of the MQA Skills programs
    • Experience in leading a team
    • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and with crews

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Development of standard operating procedures, lesson plans, and competence assessments for trackless mining operations
    • Training Material Developer who can design and develop cutting-edge learning content that incorporates modern technology and best practices in training

    • A Section 13 Trade (Mechanical or Electrical) will be an advantage
    • Certificate of Competency as a Raisebore Operator (recommended)
    • Competency A & B will be an advantage

    • Medically Fit to work underground

    • 3 years’ underground experience as Raise Boring Operator (recommended)
    • Raiseboring & drilling machines & systems
    • Operation of Robotic Shaft Liner will be an added advantage

    • Be willing to work outside the borders of South Africa

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Checking all Health & Safety issues around your workplace, equipment, and subordinates
    • Ensure the machine is assembled according to the procedures & Code of Practices as well as the manufacturer’s specifications
    • Inspect the hanging wall & make sure that it is safe
    • Check if eye bolts are secured
    • Clean footwall in accordance with procedure & Code of Practices as well as the manufacturers specifications
    • Line-up holes & drilling in accordance with marked spots, direction, procedure & Code of Practices as well as the manufacturers specifications
    • Be able to work at heights
    • Monitoring the performance of the machine ensuring optimal performance
    • Ensure that the following daily maintenance is conducted in accordance with procedure & Code of Practices as well as the manufacturer’s specifications before commencing drilling:
    • Routine maintenance of equipment, determining the causes of operating errors
    • Hydraulic hoses & electric cabling to be suspended separately
    • Electric pack doors to be kept closed to prevent water from entering electric pack
    • No oil leaks on hydraulic power pack or machine
    • Reporting of defects in equipment
    • Monitoring & reporting malfunction of any device/ gauge on equipment
    • Store equipment in a safe place on completion of drilling or on completion of working shift
    • Be responsible and accountable for tools and equipment
