    Production Supervisor (Elandsfontein)

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Ensuring all operational processes and procedures are strictly followed
    • Identify the exact quality and specification of the commodity being purchased
    • Maintain good customer relations and ensure customer satisfaction
    • Identify and report fraudulent transactions
    • Ensure records are updated and reconciled accurately for all items purchased and dispatched
    • Ensure Company policies and procedures & Health & Safety regulations are adhered to
    • Lead and supervise a team in order to achieve operational and goal orientated requirements
    • Ensure that the requirements of the Second-hand Goods Act are complied with when buying scrap by accurately recording all information required under the Act
    • Ensure employees have the equipment to do the tasks set out
    • Ensure machinery and equipment is in good working order
    • Direct the flow of vehicles and forklifts in the intake area
    • A strong knowledge in Non-Ferrous commodities

    QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

    • A minimum Grade 12 certificate
    • Previous experience in a Supervisory position
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in scrap metal - essential
    • Must be conversant with the Second-hand Goods Act
    • Good knowledge of H&S regulations
    • Knowledge of different types and grades of metals

    Security Manager

    Responsibilities (NOT limited to the below)

    • Identify and mitigate risks
    • Control room management
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures
    • Visit satellite branches on a daily basis to identify possible security risk
    • Daily risk assessments and evaluations of branches
    • Manage on site security staff
    • Manage and escort of customers with Non-ferrous loads to and from Epping
    • Management of Risk within Transport and fleet management
    • Risk auditing and reporting
    • Develop a network of intelligence to identify high loss areas and implement corrective actions
    • Ensure that correct standard operating procedures are adhered to

    QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

    • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
    • 5-8 years supervisory experience
    • Code 8 Drivers' License with valid and reliable vehicle
    • Knowledge of security management
    • Willingness to work overtime and night shift as and when required
    • Previous experience in a physically demanding mining or production working environment would be advantageous

    Scrap Metal Buyer

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Negotiate with scrap suppliers, including large scrap metal dealers and industrial generators of scrap, for the purchase of their scrap metal.
    • Maintain good customer relationship with these suppliers, including handling all queries and complaints.
    • Visit suppliers on a regular basis to inspect material that is available.
    • Liaise with SA Metal’s internal departments, including finance, transport, demolition and projects
    • Generate and submit reports to management.
    • Additional adhoc tasks.

    QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

    • A minimum Grade 12 certificate.
    • At least 3 years of general sales experience, preferably in manufacturing, engineering or allied industries /alternatively experience as a buyer of scrap metals.
    • Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

    Dispatch Manager (Production) - Epping

    Responsibilities (NOT limited to the below)

    • Daily planning of department needs with the Dispatch/ Production Managers.
    • Manage attendance & timekeeping of employees, receive sick notes, follow up on late-comings.
    • Adhere to health and Safety regulations for department and staff.
    • Site inspection (Loading Areas / Stacking Areas).
    • Inspect operators/ drivers’ machines daily.
    • Ensure that loading instruction are followed correctly and liaise with dispatch manager, operations manager and divisional director to confirm all instructions.
    • Plan and prepare processing of metal with Production Manager.
    • Ensure all instructions on loading checklist are done accuratly.
    • Confirm loading instructions received and indicate which commodity to load into container.
    • Work according to planned schedule and follow instructions.
    • Ensure loading areas / ramps are clean and safe.
    • Ensure housekeeping of storage areas are completed at all times.
    • Ensure that stock is accurate at storage bays.
    • Support dispatch admin staff by understanding, assisting and providing administrative support.
    • Attend meetings (Safety & Production).
    • Facilitate Health & Safety Toolbox Talks.
    • Adhere to Health & Safety Regulations.
    • Testing and ensuring that all metal that is purchased and dispatched is radiation free.
    • Ensure that all Employees’ Written Task Procedures are up to date and explained to staff.

    QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

    • NQF Level 5 Qualification in Logistics or Project Management.
    • A minimum of between 5-8 years’ experience in a production/ manufacturing industry.
    • Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory position.
    • Logistic experience.
    • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) with advanced excel experience,
    • Knowledge of production machinery and equipment.
    • Ability to effectively and efficiently utilize available resources.
    • Knowledge of Company Rules & Regulations.
    • Knowledge of production planning and goal setting.
    • Good knowledge of H&S regulations.
    • Flexible and willing to work overtime.
    • Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
