    Key Account Manager - Online Payments | Durban

    Job Description

    • Our Client is a South African fintech company, pioneering the future of payments.  They are a passionate and collaborative team of developers, engineers, visionaries, techies, geeks and nerds! They build products that make payments personal and rewarding fur customers and merchants alike.
    • Our Clients are looking for experienced Key Account Manager or Merchant Growth Manager with demonstrated sales, customer success and marketing experience at an intermediate level.  Previous experience in the hospitality/retail, Fintech and corporate space will be advantageous.
    • The Merchant Growth Manager is responsible for driving revenue, account growth and product adoption across a defined portfolio of active client merchants.
    • You don't manage clients - you grow them. You step in once the Merchant Acquisition Specialist has secured a merchant, and your role is to activate, educate and expand that relationship through the lens of our client's proprietary product stack.

    Post-Onboarding Activation

    • Take full ownership of new merchants post-onboarding from the Merchant Acquisition Specialist.
    • Ensure that QR placements, the acquiring channel(s), e.g. POS, PED, eCommerce, are setup, and collateral, whether in-person or online, are live and functioning.
    • Define activation objectives with the merchant and deploy the relevant tools (e.g., vouchers, consumer incentives, capital pre qualification).
    • Where applicable, migrate merchants from the free Basic plan to the paid Engagement Plan, with full access to loyalty and insight tools.

    Merchant Revenue Growth

    • Identify up sell and cross-sell opportunities across the company's product stack, with a focus on acquiring new customers, repeat usage, and customer value.
    • Tailor strategies based on merchant vertical, performance, and seasonality (e.g., campaigns, bundles, incentives, or paid plan migration).
    • Proactively engage merchants who are dormant, under performing, or eligible for growth - reactivation is your responsibility.

    Strategic Account Management

    • Build deep relationships with store owners, managers, and operational staff to understand real-world needs and execute activation plans effectively.
    • Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) for top merchants, with data-driven insights, performance trends, and proposed growth plans.
    • Be the single point of commercial escalation and accountability for your portfolio.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with Regional Growth Activators to align merchant campaigns with in-store activations and regional events.
    • Work with Operations and Product teams to resolve onboarding issues, merchant training gaps, or feature requests.
    • Provide merchant feedback to the Head of Merchant Growth for continuous product and messaging improvement.

    QuickSights & Zoho Discipline

    • Track and report merchant growth activity and product uptake weekly.
    • Maintain updated merchant notes and next steps in QuickSights and Zoho.
    • Forecast monthly growth targets by account and flag any churn risks for intervention

    This company is a remote working organisation however, on occasion, employees might be required to get together at a chosen location.

    Preference will be given to candidates residing in Durban North Coast based (Umhlanga, Ballito, La Lucia etc).

    Sales Consultant, MedTech Laboratory & Scientific Division | Gauteng

    Job Description

    Reporting

    • This position will report to the Sales Manager, Laboratory & Scientific Division

    Areas of Responsibility

    • Scheduling appointments with new and existing clients;
    • Working through client requirements and providing accurate and relevant advice on products needed
    • Promoting range of Instruments, Consumables, Equipment, Reagents and Chemicals;
    • Quoting clients on products needed;
    • Proving client with accurate and constant feedback;
    • Following up on open quotations and updating the CRM with potential opportunities;
    • Ensuring that the CRM is regularly updated;
    • Meeting realistic targets set by the Company;

    • Product feedback & improvement

    • Relay this feedback to management to help improve the products and address any issues or limitations

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • A Grade 12 (matric) or equal qualification is a minimum requirement;
    • Tertiary qualification in related field advantageous.

    Experience required

    • 3-5 Years Sales experience in the medical IVD field required;
    • 1-2 Years Laboratory experience required.
    • Management and prior experience of daily sales operations: visit planning, funnel management & forecasting – mandatory;
    • Knowledge of key account procurement cycles is preferred
    • Experience with Tenders will be beneficial;

    Requirements

    • Management of a sales funnel mandatory
    • Strong IT knowledge and experience will be advantageous.
    • Experience with tenders will be beneficial.
    • A valid driver’s license with own reliable transport is a pre-requisite.

    Lead Generation & Qualification

    • Proactively identify high-potential merchant leads through cold outreach, referrals, street activations, event networking, and local ecosystem mapping.
    • Qualify merchants based on the company's ideal partner profile: transaction volume, footfall, marketing potential, and category fit.
    • Segment and prioritise outreach across key verticals {e.g., hospitality, parking, laundromats, retail, food service) in alignment with regional plans.

    Commercial Pitching & Conversion

    • Present the company's core merchant proposition: "We only get paid when you do."
    • Clearly articulate the business value of acquiring QR codes, conversion-based vouchers, merchant-funded marketing, and digital capital solutions.
    • Handle objections confidently and close deals quickly. Escalate complex questions to the MGM or Ops team when needed, but don't defer - own the sale.

    Onboarding Execution

    • Ensure signed merchants are fully live within 48 hours of confirmation.
    • Brief the Merchant Growth Manager on the merchant's goals, vertical specifics, and anticipated marketing or capital needs.
    • Schedule POS onboarding and initiate all set up tasks with internal Ops. Ensure the merchant understands QR placement, signage, and next steps.

    Campaign Manager & Zoho Discipline

    • Keep Zoho updated with merchant activity, funnel stage, lead source, close date, and setup status.
    • Submit weekly acquisition metrics to your Merchant Growth Manager and participate in pipeline reviews.
    • Flag any bottlenecks or drop-offs between stages for course correction and territory optimisation.

    Regional Intelligence & Market Mapping

    • Maintain active awareness of your territory - understand who's launched, who's pending, and who's being poached by competitors.
    • Provide voice-of-merchant feedback to the Head of Merchant Growth and Marketing teams to shape GTM sequencing, pricing strategy, and in-market messaging.
    • Collaborate with Regional Growth Activators to align lead gen efforts with upcoming activations or regional blitz campaigns.

    Requirements
