Main Purpose:

• Collection, delivery, and transfers of scheduled and emergency blood and stock to and from Hospitals, Blood Banks, Mobile Clinics, and Blood Donation Centers. 

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• A code 8 (B), driver’s license with PDP and without endorsements.
• A Matric certificate.
• 3 years of previous commercial driving experience is a prerequisite.

A combination of the following skills, knowledge, and attributes is required:

• Neat and well-groomed.
• Have a friendly disposition and show a keen interest in the work. A willingness to work as part of a team is essential.
• The working hours are variable.
• Must be able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Purpose of the Job

To maintain an effective flow of the blood donor clinic by:

• Assisting in carrying clinic equipment to and from venues
• Assisting with the assembly of the clinic.
• Interacting with the donors.
• Preparing the donor for donation.
• Monitoring the donor during the donation.
• Ending the bleeding process
• Dealing with adverse reactions
• Transport staff and equipment safely to and from clinics

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Matric Certificate
• A Code EB or C driver’s licence without endorsements and a valid PrDP with 3 years Driving experience
• Willingness to relocate to George area
• Computer Skills (Course is advantageous)
• The working hours are variable and shift work is required with some weekend work and call-outs.
• First Aid qualification (Advantageous)

A combination of the following skills, knowledge and attributes is required:

• Well spoken, well groomed with good communication skills
• Possess excellent customer service skills and able to deal with the public
• Accuracy in data collection and attention to detail
• Have a friendly disposition and a willingness to “go the extra mile”
• Ability to work as part of a team is essential
• Previous experience in a customer service environment is required
