    Field Service Technician

    Job description
    Job Summary

    Control a Manufacturer of various types of valves and is a major supplier to both the South African and international markets. Aveng Manufacturing Dynamic Fluid Control is a business unit of the Aveng Group which actively pursues extensive global interests encompassing the building, construction, engineering, mining, manufacturing and steel processing industries.

    To maintain and service Control Systems according to DFC and client requirements and specifications. Manage and co-ordinate all technical requirements linked to site activities to ensure that service solutions are evident at all times.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage

    Experience

    • Minimum 5 years Field Service Experience
    • Previous work with Municipalities and Bulk Water Suppliers an advantage

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Manage Call outs and Breakdowns with full accountability in this regard
    • Provide Technical and Product Service support to customers
    • Accurately analyse and determine cause of failures
    • Prepare and present site visit reports and monthly feedback reports to client with regards to system integrity
    • Identify opportunities, for the business, to provide enhanced service or sales offerings to the customer
    • Ensure that all company and customer safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
    • Weekly reporting to management on all time spent relating to utilisation on a customer site to ensure optimal profitability for the business

    Knowledge Skills & Abilities

    • Knowledge of installed based services
    • Clear understanding of basic hydraulic principles
    • Knowledge of water distribution systems, bulk water systems and reservoir control
    • Good verbal and written communications skills
    • Technical service knowledge to customers

    Project and Engineering Executive

    Job description

    The incumbent will be responsible to develop and execute the strategic direction and philosophy of the Projects and Engineering division thereby ensuring the long-term sustainability and profitability of the division. Strategic management of customer and supplier relationships. Co-ordination and management of all commercial quoting to invoice activities, including management of engineering deliverable activities across divisions in the projects business. Manage direct interface with business-critical stakeholders to ensure effective and sustainable quality driven deliverables in alignment with the strategic intent of the business. Drive revenue through sales activities for the area.

    Minimum Requirements

    ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Matric
    • BSc Engineering/ B Tech in Engineering
    • Professional Registration (ECSA)
    • Project Management Diploma
    • Business Management Qualification advantageous

    Experience

    • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Process Control Industry (DCS) is essential
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Project / Programme Manager is essential
    • Proven Control systems project implementation and management experience
    • Proven Terminal solutions experience
    • Project / Programme Management experience
    • Experience in commercial management with specific reference to contract negotiation and related legal requirements (NEC / FIDIC)

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Plan, lead, organise and manage the Department to achieve Departmental and organisational objectives. Foster a culture that supports the AVENG values
    • Prepare annual financial budgets for the department into account group indicators and ratios. Manage the department’s costs with specific regard to capital expenditure. Prepare quarterly forecast for coming 12 months. Ensure adherence to Financial Policies and Procedures
    • Oversee all commercial quotation activities, ensure the AVENG Risk management processes are adhered to such that risk assessments are documented and mitigation strategies implemented to minimise the organisational risk
    • Develop the Divisional business strategy to support the overall A&CS strategy. Lead and contribute to the strategic planning of the Division in a manner that would lead to a sustainable positive income stream. Provide inspirational leadership in delivering of the strategic vision in operational activities
    • Meet the Talent Management, succession planning and staffing needs of the Department in a manner that would result in the Employment Equity targets set for the Department being met. Compile Team and Individual Performance Agreements and conduct Performance reviews. Reward excellence and manage substandard performers.
    • Observe and align to continuous improvement principles in relation to Proposals generation and project execution. This includes full responsibility for sales activities related to this area of the Business Unit
    • Development and management of strategic alliances with key clients through ongoing relationship management
    • Meet the Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality targets and objectives set for the Department. Identify and ensure compliance with all applicable SHEQ legislative requirements that have an impact on the Department. Implement and ensure compliance with all AVENG SHEQ processes and procedures within the department.

    Senior Quantity Surveyor

    Job description

    The incumbent will be responsible for providing and assimilating information to site management for compilation of reports and certificates; drafts and monthly payment certificates. Recording additional work and calculating variation claims in accordance with the contract provisions and processes. Responsible for the commercial outcome of the project/projects that fall under his/her control and to ensure QS functions are executed to maximise the commercial outcome of the project(s).

    Minimum Requirements
