RCL FOODS is seeking a dedicated and passionate Distribution Manager to join our Sugar & Milling Division.

This role will be based in Benoni and report to the Bakery Operations Manager.

The Distribution Manager will be responsible for organising the storage and distribution of goods, as well as manage and control a cost-effective distribution system for the bakery and depots.

In addition the Distribution Manager will manage the bakery &bread receiving and despatch departments effectively to ensure no stock losses and ensuring all policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric and a Degree in Logistics /Supply Chain Management is preferred
• 4-7 years Distribution and/or FMCG Supply Chain experience
• At least 4 years management experience
• CI, Quality and safety experience in a manufacturing/ warehouse environment
• Exposure to a shop floor with unionized environment

Key Deliverables:

• Management of Staff to ensure they deliver on their set targets.
• Control Driver cash Shorts and keep them to the minimum.
• Control all waste (stock in van & write offs) to acceptable levels.
• Implement all health and safety procedures and ensure adherence.
• Use IT systems to manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs.
• Use associated information systems to coordinate and control the order cycle.
• Use data from IT systems to evaluate performance and quality and to plan improvements.
• Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs;
• Ensuring all trucks are despatched timeously and in full.
• Ensuring that there is sufficient distribution/despatch resources daily.
• Ensuring that the despatch recon document is completed daily and balances, any variances to be investigated.
• Ensure that despatch and depot teams maintain prescribed records of goods received and despatched.
• Enhance excellent customer service in the despatch/depot departments.
• Ensure that crate expenses are contained within acceptable limits.
• Ensure sufficient crates are available to execute the baking plans.
• Ensure trucks are loaded in full and on time and depart on time.
