    Media Manager

    Job description

    Job Purpose Summary

    To lead, inspire, develop, challenge and coordinate market media communications. Supporting Marketing and Business Managers to accelerate strong brand growth by applying the Winning actions from Creating Engaging Brand Experiences and Plan and Execute Flawlessly within the BBNW framework. The Media manager serves as the senior media expert for Nestle and is responsible for ensuring communication/ media strategies meet or exceed the strategic requirements of the Organisation .This includes leading and managing relationships between media team, digital, creative teams, designers, and analysts, through providing industry expertise and thought leadership on new media venues, trends, risks, opportunities and resources; and sharing/disseminating information to ensure that all team members have the knowledge..

    Key Responsibility

    • Responsible for developing, generating, and maintaining new and existing business for our relevant Media products and services
    • Work with Consumer Insight teams and external agency partners to ensure Nestlé applies latest media research and insight techniques.
    • Develop Media KPI's across all Contact Points to increase efficiency and effectiveness- Benchmark all buying performance to ensure continuous improvement. Market Procurement as a partner consultant on delivery/performance
    • Evolve market media audit capability to track core KPI's for ‘delivery, compliance and market advantage'. Consult Nestlé Audit and Procurement to evolve best practice and identify external partners for benchmarking.
    • Work with marketers to understand their media strategy and campaign objectives and develop strategies to meet their goals
    • Collaborate closely with traditional media, digital and social media teams
    • Prepare and present relevant Media, this includes traditional, digital and social media opportunities to business
    • Be well versed in digital advertising marketplace and trends including knowledge of programmatic, social, mobile monetization, and Rich Media solutions
    • Manage a team of relevant traditional, digital and social media experts.
    • Lead, develop, motivate, and mentor teams t by developing strong team alliance, inclusive participation and structured training
    • Build strategic media plans in line with our Brand campaigns and needs
    • Maintain direct Media and agency relationships, and deliver superior leadership to both internal and external stakeholders
    • Consistent exercise of independent, judgment, and discretion in matters of significance

    Management role

    • Manage the day to day running of the media department, this includes but is not limited to
    • Working closely with relevant media experts to ensure media plans are strategically aligned with other marketing elements as they relate to business needs
    • Project management of all briefs to ensure that all deadlines are met by the team
    • Coordinating the efforts of various team members to ensure that work is delivered timeously and within budget, which includes but is not limited to supervising agency performance and time management

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Marketing related focus / Honours preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years brand management experience (preferably in a FMCG environment) with a reasonable amount of exposure to the core Marketing competencies consumer insight, strategy, budget & planning, promotions management, business & financial management, new product development, Digital media, advertising development & an understanding of the trade
    • A solid understanding of advertising, marketing, and strategic brand management, and how to best leverage these in a digital environment.
    • Knowledge of the digital marketing and advertising landscape, the unique technical aspects of the medium, and their impact on the development and execution of media strategies.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead team in a highly collaborative environment to develop and execute media plans
    • Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment with multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Superior oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills.
    • Strong project management and performance management skills.
    • Demonstrated budget management and resource planning experience.
    • The ability to successfully manage multiple internal and external initiatives/projects in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Strong understanding of ROI on various projects and media platforms.
